Earlier this year, a 5 hour flight followed by 3 hours of sleep wreaked havoc on my skin: it became dried out and flaky, especially my forehead and very unusually the tip of my nose too. It was day 2 after the flight and I took one look in the mirror and one glance at my La Mer tissue mask pouch and decided there'd probably never be a better time than now to put it to the test. The mask comes in a green foil pack and is folded up quite compactly, making it a slight task to unfold without wringing out the serum in it. It is fragranced but to my nose not in the typical 'La Mer' scent and quite subtle too. Like all La Mer products the ingredients list is very long and in this instance includes the 'miracle broth' components pretty high up on there, right after water (aqua) and a few humectants. I left it on for about 20 minutes before removing and discarding the mask, after squeezing out what remained to use on my arms/hands (which at this price you'd be crazy not to!). Immediately after removing there was a definite glow and although not 100% gone, the flakiness did improve significantly and my skin looked a little more plumped up due to the surge of hydration. In other words it solved my flaky skin problem! I recall using tons of Argan oil on the previous night, straight after the flight, but it did nothing at all. As soon as I'd cleansed I could see the dry patches which had formed, and my cleanser is as mild as they come. Yes at $30 USD per piece these are not cheap, but for a rare post-flight situation like mine, when nothing else worked, these did, and I would happily purchase some beforehand to take with me in future, should the same thing happen again. Luckily these are one of the few La Mer masks that can be purchased singularly to try out for yourself without committing to the full-size. -- My Top 10 Beauty Must-Haves

La Mer’s Treatment Lotion mask is suitable for all skin types and used for refreshing and hydrating tired skin. For those unfamiliar with the brand, La Mer is a luxurious skincare and makeup brand known for utilizing sea kelp in its flagship products. First off, everything about the experience felt luxurious! I prepped my skin with an extra helping of La Mer's Treatment Lotion and layered the sheet mask on top. I also like to pair the mask with my Jill Dempsey Gold Bar to ensure the product is saturating my skin. So if you are generally sensitive to fragrance, you might want to check before purchasing. $165 for six sheet masks is quite pricey, but if you use it sparingly, I like it once a week on a Sunday morning; it's worth the splurge. The sheets are infused with almost a full ounce of the Treatment Lotion for a treatment that feels like you're being pampered at a relaxing resort. There's always extra product leftover in the pouch, so I usually lather the excess product onto my décolletage and neck. For an extra indulgent treat, I like to refrigerate my mask before the treatment. My dull, tired, dry skin always feels fresh and renewed afterward. If your budget doesn't stretch that far, a great alternative is Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Intensive Revitalizing Face Mask at $70 for four masks. It's packed full of skin-loving retinol, so Shiseido's two-part mask is like an intense shot of nourishing serum to the skin. I love two-part masks as they are far easier to place on the face!

This is a basic sheet mask containing the La Mer the treatment lotion, an ultra hydration tonic. I absolutely love and utilize it daily in my AM and PM routines. This is a good mask, but at $35 a pop I expected more, hence the 3 stars. In the case of this product, I would have to recommend that you’d be better off buying the full size treatment lotion instead. You’d get 4-6 months out of that whereas with this mask, you’d obviously only get one use. Ultimately, not luxe enough for the cost. #bathtime #shelfie #mommusthaves #myvanity #mymakeupbag #skincaresecrets

Cooling and highly Moisturising
17 July 2018

I’m reviewing this as part of a pre release trial. Very happy to take part as I’ve never bought La Mer products before- really because the price has put me off. I also have a bit of a reactive sensitive skin and Space NK is brilliant at letting you try things in samples before you make an expensive purchase. I have used moisture sheet masks before though as I feel they are a very effective way to deliver moisture and plump the skin, and I’d say this is the most effective one I’ve used. I reckon it would be particularly effective if your skin had been exposed to sun. It s very cooling and loaded with product but not drippy.I left it on for the prescribed 8mins. My facial skin definitely looked fresher both after application and in the morning but my neck/chest area was where I saw the biggest improvement. I also applied what was left of the product to my hands and feet which are always dry!! And they also felt and looked much better!!It is an expensive product. But if you were going to a special event it would be a mosteffective to give your skin a great boost. A facial in a sheet mask basically for £20 per mask.

Excellent for Hydration!
6 August 2022

La Mer is by far the best skincare brand for hydration. Hands down. I have using their products since 2006 and have not been disappointed. These masks do wonders for when I need a boost of hydration before an event or after a long-haul flight. I have purchased these masks through other websites as well and will continue purchasing these in the future.

Handle with caution - can burn

I bought this as a sample, instead of buying the full Treatment Lotion. That was a good decision because 3/4th of the way through the timer, the mask started burning my face like nobody's business.I use some moisturising products with chemical exfoliants in them once or twice a week (PHA, Urea, occasionally AHAs and BHAs) but have not experienced a burn like this.Unfortuantely I don't understand the ingredients well enough to tell which ones are causing the reactionIf i had to guess, it could have been the limonene, geraniol and linalool? I am disappointed
8 January 2022

The quality of the mask cloth is very poor. The cutouts are wired. I have been using masks for over 20 years, both higher end and other kinds. I have never had a mask this bad. If I have the mask cover my forehead, my nose is half covered. If I shift it to cover my nose, my forehead is half covered. Not to mention both cheek sides and chin don't fit and a lot extra cloth there. It is hydrating but that's all. With this price, I can buy at least 7 good quality masks of other brand that offers the same result or better. If you are a die-hard La Met fan, you may continue to support them, but if you are looking for quality product, maybe skip this one.

One of the best La Mer Products!
4 March 2023

This is a super-hydrating mask! I suffer from Eczema and this mask not only soothed by fragilized skin, but also gave me a dewy glow afterwards! I have tried numerous Korean and Japanese Masks, however this mask has got to be the best. A large amount of liquid is included to apply to the skin afterwards, leaving healthy-looking skin. A must buy!

Is this a nice mask? Yes. I think my curiosity of what is a 35$ mask going to do for me was what made me buy it. It's very hydrating, skin looked nice afterwards, but it was a one time buy for me. Nothing groundbreaking and overrated, much like other La Mer products I've tried..just my personal opinion but nothing but the serum from La Mer has ever wowed me. There's better masks out there, at a better price

luxe

If you are a fan of SK-II facial treatment mask, chances is you may convert to La Mer. Bought one piece to try and loving it. It feels luxe and I don’t understand why the instruction is to use it for 5 mins when it’s literally soaked up with serum-like liquid that after 20 mins I can still squeeze out a lot of liquid from the mask. Minus half a star for the price and also the mask is a bit short, it doesn’t cover my forehead but I have a big head LOL
