Since entering menopause my previously greasy, adult acne-prone skin has become extremely dry, flaky, prone to eczema and itches all the time. It’s been quite a dramatic shift in products that I use and after almost a year of trying what seems like innumerable different creams to soothe the eczema behind my ears and on my neck I have finally found this balm. It healed up my neck in a week, I now apply it every few days to keep it at bay and my previously weepy, sore, peeling skin behind my ears is now almost back to ‘normal’ too. After all the MANY things about my body that have changed with menopause, the change to my skin has been the most upsetting as it’s been something I’ve not been able to get to grips with. It feels thick but goes on incredibly light…you know when people say their skin drinks a product up? Not so much for me, everything just seemed to lay across the dry skin and then pill off. This, however, sinks in, provides almost instant relief from the hot itching of eczema, and with two applications a day (sometimes more when it was at its most irritating) my skin has returned to normal. Almost miraculously it seems. I honestly can’t recommend this enough. I know everyone’s skin is different but I have spend hundreds and hundreds of pounds to find this solution to my problem and hopefully if you’re reading this it’ll save you a few quid and a lot of irritation and upset skin too.

Before the reformulation, this was one of my holy grail products! It used to work wonders on my dry, sensitive skin to moisturize and soothe irritation. I just used the reformulated version for the first time though and it immediately caused contact dermatitis. I applied it before bed and woke up with a rash all over my face and down my neck - everywhere the Cicaplast Baume had touched. One single use resulted in small bumps over the entire area, redness, inflammation, and itching. It’s been almost a week of trying to heal the reaction, but, even with topical corticosteroid use, I still have some redness, irritation, and hundreds of small bumps all over my cheeks and forehead. Please change this product back to the old formula or sell the old formula as a separate product.

A generous sized tube of thick white cream that does leave a white cast (despite described), so I'd recommend for night only. It locks and seals in moisture and provides a protective barrier, so I use it as my last product. One of the challenges with this cream is figuring how out to use it properly. The provided instructions are brief, but a quick skim of other reviews online will show that it's not supposed to be used as a regular moisturiser, but more of a barrier cream. It is on the pricier side for such a cream, but packed with skin helpful ingredients. I didn't experience any stinging and the texture was smooth, so this is great for those with irritated skin. There is quite a lot in the tube, and the cream itself is super hydrating and moisturizing. I had a rash on my legs, because it's cold in Australia, that would not go away, and this cleared it in a few days. The country I travelled to was very hot, and this cream did not make my face look greasy at all, and I even put sunscreen on top. Definitely recommend this product for those who suffer with itchy dry skin like myself - it really helps to relieve your skin and stop you from itching at night. The La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume is a hydrating balm that helps to soothe and repair dry skin. With this winter being extremely cold and drying my skin has taken a real hit on my face and body! Constant dryness, cracked skin, itchiness, dry patches, it hasn't been easy. I have been using this mostly on my legs and hands but also on my face. Both my legs and hands have eczema so I like to use the balm on those specific areas as it keeps it hydrated and soft and also minimises the itchiness. I trialled the product in a few capacities such as over my tattoos, on my typical dry areas that darken when I self-tan (knees, ankles, armpits) and on my face and neck. I had no issues with breaking out which I've previously experienced with new moisturisers on my face. When i say i tried this on everything i certainly did. From my 10yr old with a burn on his leg to my 6 year olds wind dried lips to my 1 year olds nappy rash..This cream hydrates while creating a protective barrier at the same time.It is soft and smooth once rubbed into the area.It does not leave an oily residue as some can and it was so easy to spread Compared to things like sudo cream and bepanthan.There is no sticky residue, if left not completely rubbed in then within a few minutes the cream soaks into the skin very nicely.Areas i used it on that have scared i feel have not done so as badly as they would have if i did not use any product, which definately makes me a happy mum because boys and their bumps and cuts are at an all time high for this house and ... MoreWhen i say i tried this on everything i certainly did.
