Lancome Hypnose Mascara 01 Noir

The first thing which I love once opened this mascara is its beautiful scent. It represents the Lancôme brand and makes it unique just for its appealing scent. The brush is very comfortable and it adopts on to the shape of the lashes, giving them perfect coverage, lift, thickness and volume and it doesn’t smudge or smears. I haven’t noticed any clumping however this mascara works better if lash gel is applied before applying mascara (application process is much easier if lash gel is used before mascara). With this mascara you can have one coat or build several coats as well. It works in any way good. Firstly, the packaging looks luxurious and sleek, you’re immediately aware that you have a premium product in your hands as the curved design is so ergonomic and easy to hold. My lashes are fairly short so I loved that this was so easy to apply, the brush design seemed to catch, coat and curl even my shortest lashes, and after just one coat the improvement in volume and colour was noticeable. My short thing eyelashes are constantly in desperate need of help and volume. My blue eyes are heavily hooded and my lashes struggle to reach out from under them. This mascara, in a single application, brought them out. It is buildable, smooth, and filled with moisture so it is not sticky or clumpy. The handle of the applicator is very comfortable. The only 2 issues I have with it is that the packaging, being glass, is heavy so I'm not sure I'd carry it in my purse and I'd like to see some curvature to the applicator itself.

I don’t know if it’s just me but I was so disappointed with this mascara. My favorite makeup is mascara so I was so excited to try this… and it did NOTHING to my lashes. There was no volume, length or fullness. I thought maybe it’s buildable do I did add a few coats and still nothing. I would never pay this much for a mascara and have it not do anything. I’ve used products less then half the price of this and have loved them, so this can show you just because price doesn’t mean cheaper products are worse. I would and will not be using this product again. It’s probably good for someone who like a very natural lash.

A keeper!

This is my favorite mascara (and I've been through many!). I've just purchased my second tube of this and loving the updated packaging. It doesn't smudge or have any fallout. It also makes my lashes look significantly thicker than they already are and gives volume, but without the clumping I seem to get with so many other drugstore and high-end brands. The provitamin B5 in this formula is also a bonus, I believe it's that which makes my lashes feel softer once I've removed the mascara at the end of the night, as opposed to dried-out whenever I've used other brands in the past which didn't contain this ingredient. A staple mascara for length and definition

Fantastic wand with thin rubber bristles, excellent for reaching all lashes easily. Gives great length and definition of lashes. The formula leans towards the wet side. I always use this on my lower lashes. It is very black and most mornings I only need to apply one coat. I also love the original in the gold packaging. Will continue to repurchase - it is worth the money.

Amazing product

This mascara is absolutely wonderful. I have very sensitive eyes and thankfully I can use it. It leaves your eyelashes really curled but not all clogged together. I've never been that brilliant applying mascara but the way this brush is makes it so very easy. It definitely increases the length of your eyelashes and leaves your eyelashes looking wonderful. Very easy to remove. A perfect product.

Best masacara I've tried

I've tried a ton of mascaras, low and high end, but nothing compares to this one! I've tried 4 different Lancôme mascaras but this delivers the best results for both volume and length. The easiest of the bunch to remove with just water, doesn't smudge or flake on me. Definitely has more of an intense black colour which makes me want to apply less product. The brush really does capture all the lash hairs. The price does bring a tear to my eye but once it starts to run out, I add a small drop of water into the tube to revive it (as its water based).

I bought it for the first time

Having red all the reviews here in John Lewis App, I have decided to buy this mascara. I have a straight natural lashes and always struggled to find a good mascara. Also, my eyes are extremely sensitive and so I am careful what do I apply on my eyes. I've been using this mascara for two days and wow the instant effect is amazing. I've even got a complement. And of course I've bought the second one to have it ready for my future travels. High quality easy to apply and definitely worth it.

One of my favourite mascaras....

Lancome make many mascaras, some of the very best. I have tried many high end versions, often don't like them very much. I always return to the Hypnose original for perfect lash lengthening and separating. It never clumps, has the perfect amount of moisture (not too dry or runny.) Also difficult to find a lovely shade of dark brown in any macara as I prefer not to wear black any more. I don't want to get any mascara just because it happens to come in brown (this does.) The only other I have found is a Channel Volume in brown, quite a bit more expensive for that one. The Lancome lasts well even using evey day, does not dry up quickly, gives glamorous long separated and curled lashes.
