Le Creuset Classic Salt Mill 21cm Meringue

I loves that this had a gradient color from an almost orange-red to a darker red. Washing and filling it were easy enough. My only qualm with it was that it didnt work very well at first. Hardly anything came out, so I would loosen the top screw, and then huge chunks of peppercorns came out. It doesnt make a very audible grinding sound like the wooden one I have either. That said, after some trial and error the mill works fine, and is a gorgeous addition to my kitchen. I bought the matching caps to keep the counter free of ground pepper, and am pleased with it. It IS plastic. So if you are expecting some heft, look elsewhere. I bought it on sale, but not sure I would pay retail for it...will update if I change my mind.

Mine is a simple life where an elegant item or two such as LE CREUSET salt / pepper grinders are wonderful possessions.They last a lifetime, so when you depart from life and someone clears away your things, they will come across such a keepsake and remember you for the rest of their lives.

Dissappointed

I purchased both the Salt and Pepper Mill this time last year. As per my my review at the time ('mixed feelings') my concern regarding the Salt Mill has been realised. For whatever reason, the pepper Mill received was of far superior build quality than the salt mill that was supplied. A year down the line and now the salt mill is rendered useless. The internal screw which connects to the cap on the top of the mill has stripped. I now have a R500 'Le Creuset' branded paper weight.What concerns me more though, particularly considering the brands' status and quality that they wish to perceive, is that no representative from Le Creuset, at time of my previous review, attempted to make contact with me so as to deal with my complaint. Pepper mill in blue

Plasticy and cracked

The neck of it had a hairline crack.I purchased this when I worked at Myer in homewares as I was taught it was the best available. ( Since resigned and relocated to another area)I had it for maybe 3 years and noticed a crack at the top where it screws onto the head.I took it back to another Myer store and because I couldn’t show proof of purchase they wouldn’t replace. The Myer One App receipt trail only goes back 2 years🙄 but product is covered for 10 years.Pretty disappointing really.

Salt and Pepper Mills and Spoon Rest

Love the color. Can’t recall the name but it is the lighter green. Spoon rest is nice and more user friendly then the one I had. This spoon rest is flat so it’s a good design as far as ease of use. The mills are a totally different story. Again love the green color but DOES NOT grind pepper worth a darn. Look nice as a decoration next to my stove. Wanted to return them but get this….take a picture of the problem….. how do you take a picture and send to them to show what the issue is ???? Does not grind peppercorns!! You figure out what the issue is as a picture will show nothing!!! Do not buy the mills.. The salt mill gives very, very fine dust so not what I wanted either.Two stars only because I like the color and the spoon rest is useful.

Salt n pepper mill

Hi I bought this pepper mill along with the salt mill for my daughter, as she had heard me praise your products so much over the years. So of course I only felt it right to get her a set, they grind perfect each use, they look stylish and feel really nice to use. Definitely recommend them, she’s now bought cups cooking dishes and other items herself, I absolutely love your products and so does she thank you so much for making such great quality cookware.

Should learn to keep the faith

Had three attempts to make my first purchase resulting in various things going wrong, my faith started to fail badly. However, the purchase came through in the end (we should have made more allowance for Black Friday) and we were delighted with the product. So much so that we made a second purchase which went swimmingly.

The perfect gift!

Bought for a friend as a gift after buying a salt and pepper set for myself. She commented on how gorgeous mine were, so she is going to love these! The green will match her kitchen perfectly. They work great and look beautiful. I am sure she will keep them for years to come.

Too small capacity, but works ok with a screw driver

I bought this thinking it was ceramic and was immediately disappointed, then I filled it and the salt came out completely fine, I tried adjusting it and couldn't get it to work and read another comment that you had to cut out the bar at the bottom. That luckily isn't necessary. You just need to loosen the screws at the bottom about 5 turns (they are rather long) and pull the gaurd put a little this allows the grinder to come down more, then loosen the top screw with the S or P on top to adjust the coarseness. It works fine now!
