Product came to my apartment in 5 days early. so I wasnt home when it arrived, and had to go get it from the post office. thats not a problem. what is a problem, is the bags of legos in the box were not numbered like most other sets so I had to open everything and take lots of time finding every piece. this part is not kid friendly. most kids lose interest before its complete. the rotors on the dual rotor helicoptor set, have too much waggle aka movement, even when the gear that turns them, is held tightly, the rotors wobble back and forth and bump into each other. very imprecise and very unrealistic. the set is fun to build, if you dont mind having 4 hours free.the only mini-fig is the pilot. it would have been cool to have a second so you could pretend the second ... I enjoyed the build, even when I discovered the parts bags werent numbered. No big deal, just lay out the bags with larger parts, and empty bags of smaller parts into bowls. Further group pins and roundy bits, and youd be surprised how easy it is to find what you need. The more you pre-sort, the quicker it will go.Theres a big problem with the rear cargo door. The way its designed its too easy to pop out, and if youre far down the assembly road its almost impossible to put back in. Lifes too short, I left it out. Other than that, no complaints.

First thing I will say about this is that it is three in one lego set but you can only build on at a time. Each build can actually take several hours and requires a lot of patience trying to find the correct piece. That being said I will go into the helicopter build first because I do feel like it is probably the most picked build as it utilizes all the parts. The car and boat do utilize parts but not all of them. In my opinion, the helicopter is the hardest vehicle to build. It requires hours of building with the five hundred pieces. If you have a little one who loves to build, this could take several days. For my nephew, he is still working on it. It is a bit of a challenge compared to many other kits as some parts are very small and fragile. That being said when ... It is a bit of a challenge compared to many other kits as some parts are very small and fragile. That being said when building the helicopter make sure to press down hard on the pieces. The helicopter is pretty sturdy once you have it built. There is also a small rope device to pull up the smaller vehicle. Overall assembly does take some time and it is a big helicopter so make sure you have enough space to hold the helicopter. The set does come with a pilot for all the vehicles and they can take several hours to disassemble the helicopter and make it into a jet or hovercraft. My personal favorite has to be the fast jet. It looks great and I was able to use spare parts to make a nice stand for it. The boat is nice as well but it is the smallest of all three. The propellers spin pretty well and the parts do not fall off. It has a nice ramp for posing as well as storing the cargo. The winch does work to pull up the cargo supplies. Overall I would say this is a really nice set to have. It takes a lot of time and patience to work on this kit but you have hours of building and everything is up to your imagination.

LEGO 3in1 sets give builders a unique challenge. Not only do you need to figure out which vehicle to build first but you also have to sort through a much larger quantity of LEGO bricks at once. Thats because its impossible to bag the bricks according to the order of the instructions as theyre different for each of the three builds. This might be frustrating for some builders especially those who are young or inexperienced with LEGO sets, but the trade-off of getting three vehicles to build is well worth it.The only problem I had with this set was the logistical choice of which design to keep built for display. Fortunately, after going through the three builds, the answer was very clear: the helicopter. Its way cooler to display and play with than the other vehicles. ... Fortunately, after going through the three builds, the answer was very clear: the helicopter. Its way cooler to display and play with than the other vehicles. My advice is to save it until the end so that you dont have to build it twice. The helicopter is huge and will feel very impressive to a child. It has some moving parts that help enhance the sense of play.Overall, this set is very, very cool. It also has a lot more replay value for kids since they can keep breaking it down to build and rebuild the various vehicles.Best for kids with a decent amount of LEGO experience and enough patience to sort through hundreds of bricks.
This is a review for Lego Creator 3 in 1 Twin Rotor Helicopter 31096 with 569 pieces. My son was so excited to receive this Lego! One reason he was so interested is because of the size of this Lego. It is big, and for a creator set especially, this is a great size. There are 569 pieces, so it is challenging, but it isnt too hard all in all. I would not recommend this to a novice builder, or a child under 6, but it is a good build for those with some experience. You can make the helicopter, a jet, or a hovercraft. My son has only built the copter. The copter has large two rotors that spin, a two man cockpit, opening side and rear cargo bay doors, a working winch, and a transportable ROV. There are no mini figures included. Of course these sets are a compatible with ... MoreThis is a review for Lego Creator 3 in 1 Twin Rotor Helicopter 31096 with 569 pieces. I would recommend, and I feel for 60.00, this is a great value.
It kind of kills me to say this, but we and by we I mean my five-year old son decided to make the jet instead of the helicopter. Technically we could take the jet apart and still make the helicopter, but my son is having none of that. So I wish I could be telling you how cool the helicopter is right now because Im sure it is, but instead Ill just have to tell you how cool the jet is.Its mostly easy to put together. Because its a 3-in-1 set, there arent specific bag numbers, which means you have to dump all the pieces out and then search for what youre looking for. Right off the bat we couldnt find one piece, but luckily we just used a piece we found in my sons existing LEGO bin, and it was fine. From then on, though, it was smooth sailing. The instructions matched up with the pieces perfectly and it didnt take us long to complete the jet.And now my son is super happy. He loves it and plays with the jet all the time. The jet has even managed to stay together despite being played with hard by a five-year old. So Im happy.
I am still amazed at the level of detail in the Lego sets that have over 500 pieces. We are not a puzzles and game family, only Lego! It’s like an addiction. The Creator 3in1 Twin Rotor Helicopter Building Kithas over 500 pieces and is great for the whole family to work on over the weekends. We usually have one iPad with the online instructions as well as the booklet that comes with the set. This was really a lot of fun and challenging for the kids. This was a fun set to assemble and the kids played with it for months until it’s time to pull it apart and add it to the every growing pile of lego pieces for them to free-style build. We typically try to catch these larger sets when they are on sell for 20% off, which is usually about 9-12 months after release or around ... Ever since the trip to Legoland, nothing else matters, it’s about fun, imaginary play time and building kits. We have a few sets now. For most of the smaller kits we try to store the parts in quart or gallon size ziplock bag with small totes for the larger sets, just so we can keep the sets together. But eventually the all get dumped into the large totes. Love the small sets, keeps the kids busy on road trips. The larger sets are awesome for those days when the weather is terrible outside, the kids play for hours.
This is a great quality play set with hundreds of pieces that will keep your kids occupied for hours. The box says 569 pieces, which is enough to build a lot of different objects. As a parent, its not hard to see the advantage of Lego sets. Although I think its a little ridiculous to assume that your kid will grow up to be an engineer if they play with Legos, its easy to see the benefit of a toy that makes children follow rigorous and complex instructions. The build diagrams are a lot like you will encounter on any number of products in your lifetime, for everything from maintaining your vacuum cleaner, to the owners manual of your vehicle, to how to put on a compression valve. The early you learn how to sit down and interpret an instructional diagram, the better equipped you are to deal with life. The most amazing thing about Lego sets is that even though they are a rigorous mental exercise, kids love digging into them each and every time. This set is triple the fun as it contains the instructions for three different builds. My kids are 7 and 9 and they put together the boat in a couple hours. The boat even has a mechanism that allows you to spin a handle on the top and it makes the propeller spin although we couldnt quite get the piece to set in place properly. Still, this is a complex build that gives a little bit of insight into gearing. The best part is, once theyre done building all the suggestions, they break the whole thing down and start constructing fortresses and whatnot. I have never seen a kid disappointed to receive a Lego set ever. Great toy.
I didn't expect much on this small set. Not much part but has good models. What people don't realize is that it can spark creativity. A bigger set can be overwhelming. As a 47 year old, I use this to spark some brain activity. I have bigger sets no doubt but just opening a small box like this can be satisfying for a short time. I built the models using the instructions then dismantled it. Store away the box and instructions and just use my imagination to make something up. Even refine what I made over time... using a small amount of pieces. This is enough for me to make something that flies, go underwater, or even try replicating a real vehicle.. like an Aptera! It has three wheels and this is enough. Challenge is how to recreate the vehicle as close as possible. ... MoreI didn't expect much on this small set. Not much part but has good models. My family is obsessed with LEGOS. We are a family that loves to work on our LEGOS together and have fun changing them to meet the imaginary play that is happening at that time. This set is great for those times when you want to change the toy to meet your imagination. This set turns into two different planes and a helicopter. My husband being a Marine loves building these sets and playing with our sons. LEGOS keep my kids imagination active for hours and away from electronics which is even better! The set is small and for older children 6 and older because of the little pieces. My kids loved this set and how it is changeable. Definitely another great set made by LEGOS and my family love changing them as they play.
