I did extensive research before deciding on this brand. I have arthritis. This more compact size is excellent but not too small. The XL - larger opening/for adding things when operating is a must. Does cake and bread as well as veggies and sauces. Can keep it on the bench. V high quality accessories in safety storage case and you can buy more. Long warranty. DJ’s provided excellent price and fast delivery.

Great food processor. So quiet. Love the three bowls that allows you to processor smaller amount satisfactorily. Never used slicing and grating blades in my other food processors due to poor results. This has changed with Magimix, quick with excellent results and minimal waste.Need to ensure the lid clicks into place properly when assembling or the bowl moves away from centre. Also found that plunger needs to be out of feed shoot when putting lid on. All this is to do with the very good triple lock safety feature.Extremely happy with my Magimix and would highly recommend it.

The dough blade is very difficult to clean with dough stuck in very narrow spaces inside the dough blade. I used a lot of hot water to clean the dough blade. The time taken to wash the dough blade makes baking at home not worth the hassle. Also, dough finds its way up the central stem of the bowl and then clumps onto spinning spindle which causes machine to overheat and stop automatically until the machine cools down. I followed the recipe provided with the machine so I am sure I did not overload the bowl. Rather disappointed about this as I now only use it for the food processing and not for dough making. I could have bought a much cheaper machine.

So pleased we decided to get this. Never had a processor before and can't believe how quickly it works. Sliced some potatoes in seconds - would have taken ages on the mandoline and risked my finger ends with every slice! Looking forward to making aioli and mayonnaise in it next.Did my research before buying and glad we didn't get one of the main competitors that were reviewed as flimsy and skittered over the work surface; Magimix feels heavy and sturdy.
Excellent versatile piece of equipment. I like the wide opening funnel for those larger items. Also the ability to use various size bowls for different processes .I've knocked of 1 star because the bowls do feel a bit rickety compared to my previous processor (Kenwood)Very happy to leave it on my kitchen counter in my open plan living space.Overall a good price with a free spiraliser that once claimed for was delivered promptly.
After originally going for a different mixer and that breaking. We went for this - slightly more pricy model. Apparently the motor is a really good one. Not a brush motor. But a more solid long lasting type that doesn't struggle after a few mins.Got a spiraliser on offer with this, which has actually been great fun.Like the storage box this comes with.Expensive but so far a good mixer.
I bought this brand so I could be assured it would cope with snack balls made with dates. It fulfills this requirement, so I am happy. However, this processor is not a magic solution to every problem. The bowl is too small to make a large batch of smoothie. While it is easy enough to clean, it is annoying that, when using the small bowl, you have to have the large and medium bowls in place, and they end up getting dirty unnecessarily. There's way too many pieces to be washed up. The optional dicing attachment is of limited use as hard veges need to be partially cooked, plus cut into small pieces. By the time I do all that, I might as well dice by hand. There are some nifty, though expensive, optional accessories that can be purchased and I hope these meet my ... MoreI bought this brand so I could be assured it would cope with snack balls made with dates. I like the reasonably compact size of this processor, but all the accessories take up a lot of space. I would recommend this item but do your research and view demos so you get the processor that is right for you.
Unnecessary 'safety' processes make this a hassle to use, there's multiple locks that have to be done in specific order to assemble/use/disassemble. The wider chute is pointless because the pusher has to engage to activate the motor, so longer items still need to be cut. Plastic is a bit flimsy. Juice attachment does not efficiently extract juice. On/off mechanism opaque so hard to know if you have left it switched on. All in all I regret not getting another breville for ease of use and durability.
Needed a new food processor. Glad I went for the compact as it's still roomy and three bowls . Slight negative is that when on worktop ready to use, it is quite tall. Not a problem looks wise but trying to feed machine eg grating, a smaller person ( I'm 5.6 ) might be on tiptoes!Has good storage box with blades and graters/slicers.The black was cheaper than the silver but in my opinion looks more expensive.
I am so thrilled with my Magimix 5200XL so far! It feels so solid and sturdy and is super easy to use.We are a family of 5 and my husband bought me a cheaper (but supposedly still good quality) kitchenaid food processor 3 years ago whose motor wasn’t so powerful and just couldn’t cope with the quantities I was trying to work with - so the blade would often jam when I was making things like bliss balls or burgers. I’d often also find myself fiddling around taking the lid on and off so I could push ingredients back down into the bowl to be blended properly. It ended up being easier/faster just to do things by hand or with a stick blender :-(So The first thing I made with my new magimix was lamb burgers and it chopped up the onion and parsley so finely and then ... MoreI am so thrilled with my Magimix 5200XL so far!
