Makita 199140-0 1 Metre Guide Rail

Bought this for my DHS680 cordless circular saw. I got the Makita 199140-0 1m Guide Rail for SP6000, Makita 196953-0 Guide Rail Adaptor for DHS680 cordless circular saw and Makita 194385-5 Clamp Set which has all work together superbly. The guide rail is accurate and stays in place wither its clamped down or for a fast cut laid on top of material and held down. It hasn’t slipped once and gives very accurate cuts for my DIY purposes. The U- track underneath fits the Makita clamps superbly and can be adjusted to fit differing lengths as the clamps slide up and down. Follow instructions for the initial cut and subsequent cuts will be very accurate.

A great system for achieving accurate cuts

Although expensive, these Makita rails are really well designed. You need to be careful when trimming off the rubber strip before the first use, as it's easy to taper it slightly at either end, but it helps if you attach another rail.

Brilliant for ensuring straight cuts

Easy to use ( subject to later comment). I bought clamps to go with it but it actually remains in place without them. Slightly disconcerting when the first cut trims the rubber anti splinter strip but it ensures beautiful straight cuts. Just remember when you do a 45 degree cut you need to adjust the position of the saw and hence the guide adapter! I have ordered a new guide to supplement the one that is now 700 mm long !

Great Short Rail

I just received this short section of track. Not only does Makita package their products well, but Rockler also packaged the Makita box within another box. As a former shipping guy, I appreciate proper packaging, especially for tools that can easily be dented by dropping the box. The track itself is perfect for a homemade mft that I am making. Someone, somewhere, said that it is safer to bring the tool to the material, rather than the material to the tool. It just made sense to me to design my own mft table. Less table saw, more track saw. BTW, Rockler price for this item was cheaper than any other retailer, at the time.

Great guide rail, great value

Great quality rail, as good as FesT, with minor differences, that are + and - in minor degree to some users. Anti-flip lip is great with Makita saws, but does in the way of some other saws. Rubber anti-splinter guard has better grip than PU on some other makes, but is less durable. Rail ends are truly as square as 90 can be, unlike some other, even cheaper alternatives.

Wish I’d bought this when I first bought my circular saw. Stays stable once down and cuts perfect straight lines. I bought to cut filler panels for my kitchen and the edges sat perfectly together. Make sure you get a sharp blade though and some of the Makita clamps to go with it if cutting from a bench.

Makita 1M Guide Rail

Bought this as I have already got two 1.5M rails of the same make and am very impressed with the quality and function. Needed the shorter length for smaller cuts, and confined work spaces. The smooth glide of the track makes for a precision cut and when used with my Makita SP6000 Plunge Saw the finish is absolutely perfect every time. I would highly recommend this track along with the other equipment mentioned for professional or diy set up. PS: I also purchased the same branded storage bags for my rails, again, first class.

Makitav39" Track

Purchased 39" Makita track from Rockler because they had the best price. It arrived on time and packaged well. I also purchased the 55" Makita track - again, the best price - from the friendly Rockler folks.

Much more useful than I thought it would be

I had bought the bundle Makita track saw kit. It was a bundle on sale that included two extra 5.0 batteries and this 39 inch track for free. When I saw that the 39inch was free I almost didn’t care because I knew I really needed the 55inch track and really wanted the 118 inch track as well. I hadn’t checked in FACEBOOK groups that I am a member of asking about the use of a 39 inch track. People consistently said yeah that is just a waste, Makita should have included the 55 inch instead. When I looked at the pricing of both tracks on Acme it showed $79.99 for the 39 inch track and $74.99 for the 55 inch. Thought that was odd. I asked Acme if I could swap but no deal. My brand new table saw has a bent frame that holds my blade so for the past two weeks no table saw. Prior to that issue I was not using the table saw because I wanted to put it into a workbench I was building. Making sheliving, drawers and doors etc. Since no table saw I was making all the cuts I would use the table saw for with the 39inch track. I have my dust collector hooked up and it’s just sits under the workbench that will have that table saw. Man it is just sooo convenient to whip out the track saw. I love this thing. I have the 55 inch and could not image trying to make those cuts with the extra long 55. I am taking under 30 inches. Like all the makita tracks it is well made.
