Probably the best balance of size, weight and cut capacity there is. The power and quality of this saw are unmistakable. The price of admission is steep, but if you're a professional, the experience of using this saw makes it worth it..

Bought this saw last October, I'm a sort of master finishing carpenter and do Heritage restoration on 100 plus year old houses and buildings, so lots of stain grade and crazy stuff, had 2 LS 1013's since 2001, then got a hernia 2019 and had surgery so picked up a LS714 for after the surgery, used that up until i bought this one, It is a surgeons instrument, half a degree adjustments are possible on both the miter and bevel and all of the controls are at the front and with my makita stand attachments it only weighs 38 lbs, I.m 68 so that is a huge bonus, you can one hand it. It's accurate out of the box and a joy to use!

Almost everything about this saw is amazing, however it CANNOT CUT A 4x4 POST! It does not have enough plunge depth so you have to rotate the post and cut a second pass. What a huge oversight.
