Marantz Professional Pod Pack 1 USB Microphone with Broadcast Stand & Cable Kit

10 yr old son wanted a mic for his birthday for online gaming on his laptop so we drove to the other side of Auckland to get advise from pb tech staff as our local is now only click and collect. We were recommended this mic and it has so far performed perfectly.

Excellent and easy to set up

Arrived swiftly and well packaged. A great quality item easily set up. The table stand is sturdy and does not fail. Microphone is well built and performs well. Simple plug n play.

Great but!

Got to me earlier than expected. Very easy set up and plug and play works great with windows 10, no issues. According to the people I talk too audio is great. Well worth buying especially for the price.

Great durable construction. Accurate, Begs for power

Discrete accurate response and wonderfully constructed microphone with simple plug and play makes startup a cinch! Kudos there...on the down side, this mic begs for amplification. You got to get up on it, or perhaps speak with a more bombastic volume. I'm not sure if this can be phantom powered but if I can it would be wonderful!

I would recommend and buy again

Pros: The product was very affordable. Shipping was quick. Marantz is a good name product Cons: Shipping box and packing could be better, but item was not damaged Lack of set up or instructions for the microphone I was able to set up the microphone and the sound within about 10 minutes. There was a noticeable sound difference for the good with microphone vs the old one I was using. The old mic would pick up all noise and the cable running to the computer would amplify any movement direction to the mic. With this mic being isolated, it removed all the annoyances of outside unwanted noise. I'm happy with the tone and sound quality with this mic as I am using for my podcast on Norcal Karters.

This microphone is easy to set up and use. The build quality is excellent. It is made of high quality materials and workmanship. Its price also makes the value proposition so good I felt compelled to buy it. It also produces excellent sound.

Good quality for the price, good sound quality and does what I need. Only downer is the boom arm is incredibly stiff and the clamp is not the strongest. Definitely worth it

Great device and the sound is very clear and crisp on the microphone. Flexible enough to place on the desk without the hassle of it boom arm being rigid

Surprisingly Thoughtful, Solid Design for very low cost...

I was hesitant to order this; no reviews, and as 'Marantz' was a high-status status analog stereo-equipment brand in the 1970s-80s I was afraid that, just like 'Polaroid', only the name & logo had survived, and was just fancy packaging for cheaply made 'knock-off'. Nope! This is a solidly-built, thoughtfully-designed product with all sorts of nice details properly done; good quality at surprisingly low price -- this is the sort of solid, simple, low-cost design I'd hoped to find. The desktop-clamp and pivot-arm are made of metal parts, with good large-area friction-joints, metal-spring-loaded counters, metal bolts, and threaded metal parts. (only the coverpieces and twist-handles are plastic; they're solid and seem unlikely to break). At the microphone base we have a (appropriately plastic) friction-clamped tilt-joint you can rotate to aim mic in any direction; it fits a broad (?half-inch?) threaded metal plug (?mic-stand standard?) on the end of a chromed-metal rod in a 2nd friction-clamped pivot/spin joint at the end of the mic-stand. That rod has a machined neck at the end that prevents the rod from accidentally falling out of the clamp (and dropping your mic on the floor). Superb! The microphone body is (anodized) metal, metal wind screen & guard-arch, with USB type-B (nearly square) socket at bottom. Long USB cable (included!) plugs into mic, and ends in Type B (rectangular); plug it in to my (Win10) computer and it's ready to use with installation; just select 'USB Microphone'. Audio quality is huge step up from laptop's built-in 'array'; put it 6" away and to the side for radio-broadcast sound (try the closet, where clothes absorb echoes; just like a radio studio). Perfect equipment for teaching remotely--I really like this mic + desk-clamped stand. == Fast delivery (Adorama said 7-14 days, so I paid for 2nd day air; in my hands in 5 days), == Easy to set up, == Easy to position exactly-right (and just out-of-frame of my webcam), == Superb sound quality: HUGE improvement over laptop buillt-in or earphone/headphone mics == set-it-and-forget-it; I'm ready to teach now on Zoom (USB plugs right into computer;position it once and it stays there. (PS: I discovered that good sound is well worth the effort for long meetings and/or teaching classes online. Bad sound seems to exacerbate listener fatigue, makes class attention/participation less pleasant for everyone).

nice performing USB condenser microphone

My son uses this for school zoom meetings, especially useful for online band class and recording his tuba. I'm hoping it will become part of my makeshift studio. Thanks again, PE. Easy upgrade.
