We are reasonably happy with the product now. It looks elegant and serves the purpose of shading a table at midday and high sun. It was good value for the money we paid. However, we had to return the first one, as one of the struts was broken when we first tried to set it up. It was replaced without trouble, but we also realised that that model had no tilting mechanism. Our fault for not reading the specs properly!

I read the reviews, but so thought if was really careful opening it I’d be ok. Successfully opened it and then heard a ping and one of the arms snapped. Zero breeze. Oh and the other half of the pile was missing too. -1 really for all the hassle.

I bought this in December and used it for couple of weeks in the backyard during hot weather. All seemed fine, then put it away in the shed for a few weeks when not needed. I've just gone to re-open it and the plastic frame/spokes have somehow malfunctioned and separated from the pole. Therefore does not open or close, has no support and is useless. I've had to cut the fabric off to dispose of it. Yes it was cheap at $29, but still expected it last more than one use! Not great for our already disposable society by selling such poor quality products that don't last long. Would definitely not recommend this umbrella.
