This mini-itx motherboard is awesome. I've purchased 2 in the last 2 months. Worked both times out of the box for a Ryzen 5 3400g and a Ryzen 7 2700x. I was concerned it wouldn't work with a gen 3 Ryzen until you update the BIOS. I believe when this board first came out, it required a gen 1 or gen 2 cpu to access the BIOS and then update it via m-flash. There's no BIOS flash button on the motherboard itself. It might also depend on when your specific motherboard was manufactured as to which BIOS update is already installed. This board is known for lower VRM thermals unlike Asrock. It only comes with one M.2 slot and it's on the underside of the motherboard. It stays cool. It also works well with the Asus Strix rtx 2060. Highly recommend!

I bought a second one of these recently for a HTPC build. I couldn't get the thing to post, and I noticed 4 tiny little LEDs on the board. a light was lit up. looked it up in the manual turns out that it has a "EZ Debug" four light system that let's you know what problem you're having. the "DRAM" white led was lit, indicating a ram issue. so I swapped the ram chips out for ones from a working PC, and viola. it posted. RMA'd the bad ram back to Newegg. EZ indeed.

Good product. It has compatability issue with WD Blue NVME SSD though. Used a Crucial alternative and it works fine.
Great motherboard if you are building an AMD Ryzen system. The mini-ITX form factor gives you lots of cool options, and the board is well built and has heatsinks on it, to keep components cool. One thing to keep in mind is that the "onboard" video will only work if your AMD Ryzen has Radeon Graphics. This is easy to figure out because the box should say "Processor with Radeon Graphics" right on it. One thing I've noticed and I may be wrong, is that if the CPU has the Radeon Graphics, then you only get 4 cores typically, and not 6 like some of the others. This board has 1 PCIe slot, so if you want to run multiple monitors, and don't get the AMD Ryzen with Radeon Graphics, then you'll want to keep your eyes open for a single video card with all the outputs that you need.
No chance to fix the sound problem. Manufacturer recommendations didn't work. Tried to change a power supply from good working machine, and USB external sound didn't help. This is common problem with this motherboard. The MSI Customer support sent an automatic answer and ignoring my request. If you wish waste your money, buy a MSI products.
I wrote a bad review initially that this b450i gaming plus ac did not come with the required bios update for my Ryzen 3600 cpu. However, this was not the case. After solving the unrelated problem with another component I checked the bios and this board came loaded with the latest update available. tl/dr - My mobo came ready for a ryzen 3rd gen cpu. also, make sure to get some fan header splitters if you have more than 1 case fan, as this board only has headers for 1 fan plus the cpu cooler
product not in stock and not covered under manufacturer warranty since its being purchased through Newegg. dont purchase through newegg. purchase directly from MSI for standard repair. All other components to motherboard operating fine.
If you plan to use the stock wraith cooler, there's a good chance you will need to remove the plastic shroud from the fan. The shroud was blocked by the heatsinks on the mobo, but after removing it, it fit just fine.
