MSI is one of my favorite brands, right up there with Acer. This GPU's RGB is nice looking and the fans are extremely quiet. I have never heard the fans on this 2060 so far. In games like Fortnite, you get about 230-250 fps on all the highest settings (with a decent internet connection). This GPU came with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and the product code worked. The picture this website provides is accurate to how the card actually looks. Although the HDMI tech it has is sub par, the Display Port technology is up to date and produces nice resolution on the right monitor. Modern Warfare ran well on all the highest graphics settings including ray-tracing, and I never noticed any lag. The 2060 works well for all that you need and I do not think I will have to upgrade ... MoreMSI is one of my favorite brands, right up there with Acer. In hindsight, I wish I'd waited three more months to upgrade, and used that time to save up money to buy a 2070 Super instead. But that's totally on me, and I won't knock eggs off because I was unable to predict the future. ;-) But I do knock an egg off because I feel the price for the RTX line is high, and the features are kinda wasted on the 2060 because of its low RT core count. This is a good card for 1440p, but, don't expect to be able to take advantage of ray-tracing features without cutting your framerates in half. Otherwise, I've been really satisfied with this card. I still haven't been let down by MSI's good-quality products. My only complaint with them is that I wish they'd used larger fans on this card, so that the fans wouldn't have to spin so fast. But MSI Afterburner is a great program, and I was able to find the perfect fan curve for my liking. Not sure I'd recommend it though, since the Super cards are out now, and RTX 30 is allegedly going to be out in the first half of 2020. If you can hold out that long, imagine that the 7nm RTX 30 series will have improved the RT cores, and improved performance and efficiency all around. That's just me guessing, though.

I give the GPU a 5 out of 5 because i don't compare it with a high end gpu that costs around 1000 pounds. I wanted to build a gaming rig at around 1000 pounds so this GPU was a great option. Long story short my first game was apex, ultra settings running at 144 fps. Pubg ultra graphics the drops never drop below 62 (capped at 60) . My CPU is a i5 9600 k. Definitely recommended for a medium range pc that will give you the comfort to play all games at high graphics. The card is also beautiful seeing inside the PC. The installation was easy considering it was my first time making a PC . Overall, very good buy and very good service from scan. (i haven't overclocked anything so i don't have a respective opinion on the topic)

Runs a bit hot with the stock cooler. Reaches 85C under full load with an open case (room temp. being 26C). This particular model is compatible with Kraken G12 w/o any special modding, tho NZXT site states that there's no comparability with RTX 2060, this model is somewhat different from nvidia's reference board and the mosfets are exactly where they need to be for the fan to blow directly onto them. However, when the stock cooler is removed them VRAM chips will start overheating so there's a need to buy separate set of VRAM radiators (preferably cooper ones). With G12 and Corsair's H55 liquid cooling I was able to lower the temps significantly - from 85C to 67C under full load (with GPU being overclocked even farther beyond factory OC). I would definitely recommend this card to anyone who is familiar with Overclocking utilities as you will need to customize your fan curve to prevent this card from being too loud and annoying. I upgraded to this card from a MSI Gefore GTX 1060 Gaming X which has the TORX Fan 2.0. These two cards have this in common. I assumed that by going with this VENTUS card that the thermals would be similar. I was right about the thermals but what surprised me was the noise. The Gaming X card is not nearly as loud as the Ventus at fan speed percentages above 60%. The gaming x card could run well above 60% and not be very audible whereas the Ventus card is very audible to the point of annoyance. I now have this card set to only hit 50% fan speed in my custom curve setting in MSI ... MoreI would definitely recommend this card to anyone who is familiar with Overclocking utilities as you will need to customize your fan curve to prevent this card from being too loud and annoying. I now have this card set to only hit 50% fan speed in my custom curve setting in MSI Afterburner which means it's very very quiet but my temperatures are a bit higher than the gaming x's temps were. Which is fine as I am only hitting around 67 degrees C at max load. This is how I would recommend using this card and for the price, it's worth the extra effort.
I said I would update my original review once I had some more time using the card, but it turns out you can't update a review... only choice is to delete it and rewrite it. Further, one "reviewer" decided to take it upon him/her self to review my (and one other's) review rather than the product, and I decided to answer a few of this person's points. 1) Why would I buy a card only as fast as a 1070 when I already have a 1070? Ignoring the fact that Nvidia (and really several pre release videos from others) stated it would be much faster than a 1070, I wanted a second GPU in my system for Blender cycles rendering. 2) Why complain about the missing CD when no one uses them anymore? Ignoring the fact that Nvidia (and really several pre release videos from others) stated it would be much faster than a 1070, I wanted a second GPU in my system for Blender cycles rendering. 2) Why complain about the missing CD when no one uses them anymore? As I stated in the previous review, I know how to get drivers from online sites, so it's not an issue. What IS an issue is that MSI states that there is a CD in the box, and further, the instructions direct you to use it. Not everyone is as knowledgeable as some of us, and so they might think this CD is important. As I said in the original... very sloppy on MSI's part. They did include the CD's envelope in my box... so it was supposed to be there. Further, I'm shocked that there were no cables included. Again, as a computer building geek since the early 1990s, I always have cables laying about... but not everyone out there does. 3) Did I do research before buying this card? Absolutely... about the only thing I missed was Newegg's return policy (Note: you can't return this product if you aren't satisfied with it. Keep this in mind before purchasing.). I think this was the brunt of "Anonymous'" complaints. Truly though, I'm shocked that he/she took the time to go on a rampage about a product that he/she might not even own (no "Verified Owner"). It was almost as if this person designed this card and was having fits over my comments! LOL- some people have too much time on their hands. Note- a three egg review isn't a detractor rating. It simply indicates I'm 50-50 on this card as a recommendation. And it's my opinion (a review is always an opinion). This card could easily have gotten a four star rating from me were it not for MSI's sloppy (and I think, rushed) distro. Here's some positives: This card is excellent in Cycles rendering. It hands down beats my old Gigabyte 1070 G1... they rip thru frame renderings together! As for games, it is slightly faster than my 1070. Overclocking is made easy with Afterburner. I got about 10% more speed out of the card in OC. With that in mind, I would definitely recommend this card as a better version of the GTX 1070 with possible future proofing based on the RTX ray tracing capabilities. If you currently have a 1060, it's a natural upgrade. If you want 1070Ti performance in games, I'd say that this card probably won't fulfill that goal unless you have a high performance i7 system. One last note: this GPU can be made to work in Linux Mint. It's not immediately easy as the drivers approved for Mint aren't there yet, but if you know how to download and install the drivers directly from Nvidia's Linux library, they work!!!
This is my first gpu. As someone who only played console games before this changed the way I game drastically. In games where I would often die and lose on console I was able to play with minimal losses and performed trick shots I never thought I was capable of. In a game where I had aiming sensitivity set to .1 I had to change it to 500 (no joke) because the latency was so good that I didn’t need the lower settings. I didn’t feel tired of playing after hours whereas on console I would feel like my eyes were strained and would sign off in less than an hour. I’ve waited years to get a proper pc because I figured I’d never really play and waste lots of money but now I find myself itching to get on my pc which is something I’ve never had the inclination to do. Once I get a proper cpu (coming in a few days!) I’m sure I’ll have to be wrestled off of my games. In conclusion, if you’ve been planning on getting a pc but have been on the fence because you feel like a console would be a better use of money or you feel like you’ll waste your money, don’t be. You won’t regret it and if you do, you can (more than likely) sell your built pc for more than what you paid for the parts. There’s no losing and only a gain for an amazing experience that you’ll never regret. *Note: don’t copy my terrible cable management in the included picture, I plan to upgrade everything and clean it up.
MSI is a brand I trust from experience. The graphics card is perfect. It's powerful and fits better than the triple fan cards making it shorter but the shorter design come with a bigger heatsink to help dissipate heat. Everything runs on Ultra or high depending on your game settings. with every graphical feature on and no hiccups. Just make sure you have enough ram to support your multi tasking and not blame the graphics card.
Overall - cool, mostly quite, powerful card for its price point. Could have been a great buy (and given other reviews it was for many others, which is why I first bought it. But I got unlucky) but just didn't work out for me. The bad unstable card was one thing, stuff happens. But the second one also being bad, failing in the fashion it did, and also managing to damage the monitor when it failed?!? That's something else for a gpu. Makes the card a bit of a gamble unfortunately. Been a MSI person myself for long time. 560ti's, then some 760s, then some 970s, then this card...... Now I've unfortunately had to refund this one as well, and have decided to give Evga a go this gpu generation. My computer set up: This MSI Gaming Z RTX 2060 6GB graphics card, Intel Core i5-7600K CPU at 4.8Ghz and 1.265V, 16GB DDR4-2666 RAM, on Windows 10 Home version 1809 (mandatory for RTX) using Nvidia Driver 419.35.Out of the box the card boosted to 1980 Mhz on the core clock according to GPU-Z during Metro Exodus gameplay, due to Nvidia's GPU Boost. It hovered around 1965 when it wasn't at 1980. The temperature reached a maximum of 67'C in my mini-ITX ThermalTake Core V1 case (accompanied by 6 other fans, mind you). Fans stay off until card reaches 60'C, and were mildly audible when they did spin. After implementing a custom fan profile in MSI Afterburner, core clock boosted to a max of 2010 Mhz and temp rose to max of 68'C. This was in a room with ambient temperature of 72'F. Overclocking the card by adding +100 Mhz to core and +800 Mhz to memory in Afterburner resulted in a stable 5.6% performance increase at 1465 Mhz core clock (shown as 1980 boost clock in AF) and 2055 Mhz memory clock (shown as 7801 Mhz in AF) with power slider at 105%. Normal power consumption during Metro Exodus was around 194W at stock settings, and around 204W when overclocked, peaking at 70'C.It has been able to handle nearly all games at ultra settings at a minimum average of 60 fps (most between 100-144) at 1080p with the exception of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, which averaged 58 fps on ultra (with volumetric clouds on medium). Faster ram or CPU (7700k or 8th/9th gen 6/8-core CPU) may result in averages above 60 in this single game, or by overclocking (which did make the average 61 fps). Other games like RE7, Prey, Forza Horizon 4, STEEP, Shadow Warrior 2, Gears of War 4, Apex Legends, Vermintide 2, played above 60 fps at 1440p ultra settings some reaching closer to 100. Even Metro Exodus (which was redeemed with the purchase of this card) played at 1440p 60FPS using this card at ultra (DX11, RTX off, Tessellation off, Hairworks off, and DLSS off) with some lows into the 50s.The card also supports the new NVENC encoder in OBS and I tried the Max Quality preset for streaming which seemed to be equivalent to x264's Faster Quality preset, so x264 on Fast or better will still produce a higher quality stream. The advantage is reduced CPU usage with NVENC. Fortunately, streams had about 0.1% dropped frames/no latency at 720p 60fps or 1080p 60fps at 6000Mpbs, and the card's usage remained at about 80% utilization with 4.5/6GB of VRAM used during NVENC streaming.I opted to not use RTX or DLSS during Metro Exodus to avoid experiencing stutters or frame rate drops (it increases VRAM usage by 800Mb) but when activated in-game, sunlight was more defined, darker areas look harsher and fps dropped from 85 fps average on Ultra to 61 fps average with RTX. Game looks great normally, and even better with ReShade which I believe is what most people should use instead of RTX in this game.Overall, great design and cooling provides really good performance for triple A games at 1080p and 1440p. It would be comparable to GTX 1080 but with less VRAM. It is the best RTX 2060 model out of the bunch, and I personally believe it's a better value at $389.99-$399 than RTX 2070s at $529+, whether or not you overclock it.
