I managed to get this on release day and have been very happy since. Ive been able to play at 1440p, with very little drop in frames. Mine is paired with a b560m and an i7 10700, with 32Gb of 3200mhz ram. I go from gaming to work with 4 monitors without an issue. My monitor's include 3 1440p 27inch monitors and 1 1440p 34 inch. Ive played AAA title on high settings with little issue. Only issue i had was playing my first game of Halo but never again. There was a bit of jitter. Fans do kick in under high load which is to be expected but its very quiet. Ive played for long stretches with no issue either but i keep my case well cooled. And their Tensor cores are utilized for DLSS, which works in tandem with the RT cores to downscale and image, add all the visual features, then upscale them back up to the preferred resolution. I'm likely explaining it wrong, so the TL;DR of it is you need DLSS to have an enjoyable experience with Ray Tracing.Head to head, the 3070 isn't as strong in neutral titles as the RX 6800. When a game favors Nvidia, it will beat or get closer. When it favors AMD, no chance this card wins. But what we've seen is that Nvidia cards scale better at higher resolutions than AMD cards. So if you're trying to do 4k gaming, this will have a better chance at surpassing the RX 6800.I ended up buying this and loaning to a friend as they were milking a GTX 1070 for all it could handle.Aesthetically speaking, I love this card. I don't like the proprietary pci-e adapter and placement as it makes clean builds more difficult. I like the cooler design. I believe this still uses regular GDDR6 and not 6X, so memory heating issues shouldn't be prevalent. One thing I dislike, is that there is no customization for fan curves, power draw, memory speeds native to Nvidia software. You'd have to download another app to customize your card. That being said, it operates just fine as a plug and play card.

I placed an order for it and it turned out that I had reserved the last GPU they had in stock at the time. Even though it's somewhat of a hassle to have to reserve and pick up in-person, it allows Best Buy to reduce the amount of scalpers and to also sell at MSRP, which I greatly appreciate. Having same-day pickup was great, and the process of picking it up in the store was hassle-free and went smoothly. For the card itself, it looks fantastic, runs smoothly and I have no issues with it so far. I upgraded from an EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC, so it's a big performance improvement and I'm looking at running VR with it now.I really like the FE's appearance; it's very sleek and I love the silver highlights. It has no RGB, but I'm okay with that. I also undervolt it at .894v at 1935MHz to reduce the power consumption and it runs stable. You don't evenreally need to undervolt it, but it can help slightly with thermals.

Great Power and Performance for the Price
14 April 2023

As someone who recently upgraded their graphics card to the RTX 3070 Founders Edition, I have to say that I'm absolutely blown away by its performance. This card is an absolute powerhouse, and it's easily one of the best graphics cards on the market right now.First of all, the design of the card itself is stunning. The sleek, minimalist look is really impressive, and it looks great in any build. But the real star of the show here is the performance. The RTX 3070 is incredibly fast and can handle just about anything you throw at it. Whether you're playing the latest AAA games or doing some heavy-duty video editing, this card can handle it all with ease. But perhaps the most impressive thing about the RTX 3070 is the price. It's a powerful, well-designed card that can handle just about anything you throw at it. And for the discounted price of $300, it's an absolute steal. I ordered qnd payed but a glitch in their system kept me from getting it. Thankfully either mine or someone else cancelled showed up to the store and I went and got it. I upgraded from RTX 2070 Super so wasn't expecting much just wanted the HDM 2.1 but it is a surprising amount faster to me. My 2070S was an FE as well with the old Turing design and I find this cooler much better. It blows air out of the IO ports like I have some indistrial hair dryer except the mild temperature. Card is really good build quality and although the jump from 2070S was larger than expected despite watching several reviews I wouldn't upgrade unless I needed the newer HDMI 2.1 port. LG C1 is my "monitor" so no DP option. I can't stress enough how good the card is though it still is mind ... MoreI ordered qnd payed but a glitch in their system kept me from getting it. LG C1 is my "monitor" so no DP option. I can't stress enough how good the card is though it still is mind boggling how much more efficient the card is. My CPU does not run cooler despite some air coming out of it and running up through RAM, SSD, and CPU but my clocks seem to have gone up 25Mhz which isnt much but is repeatable. I think it has something to do with my Bios having a temp target around 72 degrees on CPU while the GPU maxes out at 59-60 degrees and doesn't go above it regardless if how hard I am pushing it. That is with a custom fan curve where the fans are typically at 50%. Used afterburner to scan and apply curve because im too lazy to dial in good OCs anymore. Runs at 2010 MHz constantly under load. I have seen dips to 1985Mhz a couple times but cant seem to recreate when it happens and why. A more aggressive fan curve would likely help here and I am positive I could get it up to 2100Mhz or more if i really wanted to mess around with OC. Regardless love the FE design on the 3070, not a big fan of the 12 pin when an 8 pin could fit (if they wanted to put an 8 instead of 12 pin that is)but that is my only gripe and it is minor.

Phenomenal Performance

Amazing performance when paired up with an Intel i7-8700k. Sold my 980TI and bought the RTX 3070 at original retail price. Playing on an Acer Predator monitor at 1080p with Gsync. All my games can now be played at max settings with high refresh rate. Temperature stays cool and runs quietly. The details in games are night and day difference compared to the 980TI. Drivers automatically installed and was a simple plug and play. Highly recommend buying this product when available.

Upgraded from a 1060 which was more or less around minimum or recommended for a lot of modern PC games. That worked ok, while the 3070 works great. My card easily achieves the specified clock speeds, however, it doesn't clock nearly as high as I've seen other people were able to achieve online; although that might just be the case of me being unlucky or maybe these newer cards just aren't as beefy as the ones from yesteryear. Despite this, its still able to drive games decently on my 144hz 1440p ultrawide monitor (with some settings turned down of course).Honestly, I would have gone for something else other than the reference model, but this is one of the few that would fit in my case and I would need a new PSU since most custom cards have higher power ... MoreUpgraded from a 1060 which was more or less around minimum or recommended for a lot of modern PC games. It was either this, a gigabyte eagle, or a higher end reference model. But, I can't justify the minimal performance increase from a crazy price increase by going to a custom model, ti, or even a 3080. The reference model was the compromise between price, performance, and compatibility with my other components.Overall, the 3070 is a solid card. There's better stuff out there if you have the budget for it, but this is more than enough to get the job done.

Solid performer for stealth builds

I snagged one of these and dropped it into my Ryzen 7 5700G build and was pretty impressed. I liked the fact that this is probably the lowest cost 3070 with 8GB, yet it has better than average performance when running it through the various benchmarks. I use it more for graphic manipulation and design and will dabble in some video production from time to time. I was looking at the Quadro cards for my graphic work, but they're stupid expensive for stuff I dabble with on the side. My only complaint with this card is that text on my screen will distort as I am typing (sporadically) but it seems to be limited only to PowerPoint at this time. It's likely a driver issue and I'll see if they fix it in a future release. Now that these guys are staying in stock, do yourself ... MoreI snagged one of these and dropped it into my Ryzen 7 5700G build and was pretty impressed. Although with the 4000 series coming out soon, you might want to wait a bit.

The Nvidia RTX 3070 Founder's Edition is individually a good graphics card that occupies an awkward spot in the GPU stack from a value perspective. The 3070 FE is a beautiful piece of hardware with the new casing Nvidia has developed, gone are the days of the Founder's Edition cards being the worst cards from an aesthetics point of view.Pros:-The 3070 looks great in a case without being an absolute monster like a 3090-Excellent overall performance up to 1440p high settings in AAA games-3070 boosts automatically in good thermal scenarios to achieve even higher performanceCons:-3070 is only slightly better than a 3060 TI yet $100+ more expensive..why not just get a 3060 TI-Running AAA games at 4k/60fps is just out of its range, you would need a 3080 to reach ... MoreThe Nvidia RTX 3070 Founder's Edition is individually a good graphics card that occupies an awkward spot in the GPU stack from a value perspective. Going to the 3070 nets you about ~5% more fps over a 3060 TI at the cost of about 25% more cash, just not worth it in most scenarios as it doesn't exactly open up more tiers of performance. Meanwhile, most 4k gamers would find the 3070 lacking in horsepower and would need to move up to a 3080 to see a significant improvement in that regard. In simplest terms, get a 3060 TI if you're a 1440p gamer or get a 3080 if you're 4k gamer.
