Did some extensive research and these came out in the top 10 as very good for safari's and to watch animals and birds. Others in top 10 were a lot more expensive. These are a birthday gift for man who will be in Kenya at his 40th so Im hoping they live up to the research comments and therefore I know he will be pleased.Bought from John Lewis as price was the same as specialist shops, but guarantee and after service were, as usual, excellent.Arrived on time, appropriately wrapped and protected and looking simply fab.

Researched and tested various models for quite a while and decided on these. Solid feel in hand and image is crisp and bright.I required a binocular that will be used for route finding, navigation and general viewing. These will not be securely packed away but out and readily available. They appear to be quite durable with the armouring but time will tell.Adjustments are all glove friendly, focus is fast and precise.Eyepiece protective cap is great and provides great wrap around protection of both eyepieces. On the other end however, the objective lens caps are stand alone pieces. They fit well but will be prone to being lost. I will have to make a retaining strap of some type so this does not happen.Overall I am happy with my purchase. I own many pairs of binoculars from small up to very large astronomy binoculars. I've been on the lookout for a smaller high quality pair I can for bird watching and trekking. This past week I've been trying out different binoculars, buying, and spending some time viewing because I want to retire my heavier 10x42 pair.I wasn't expecting much from Nikon just because they are no longer king of the optical hill as they were in decades past, and depending on the model there are some average binos of theirs. But that certainly isn't the case with the 10x30 Prostaff, these are optically excellent and bright, as I compared these to about 4 other good brands in this weight class. Frankly I was very pleased. It's on the line of Vortex quality, but with a bigger picture window effect. What I mean by that is (especially if you wear glasses) the view out of the Nikon was simply better and broader for that picture-window view where the circle just seems larger. I found them to have comfortable (but not exceptional) eye-relief.It's a tough call between these and Vortex Diamondback, because Vortex has the best warranty in the business. Depending on the price, I would say if it's the same or less then get the ProStaff. Especially if you like that bigger picture window view. If the Vortex are less (and you don't wear glasses), then go with the Vortex Diamondback 10x28.Really a nice set, lightweight, and plenty bright optics for daytime use. Recommended.

I purchased these binoculars primarily for spotting wildlife during photography outings. They are very comfortable to hold and offer a wide clear field of view for extended non-fatiguing viewing. Optical quality is very good with size/weight convenient for easy carry in my photography bag. These are excellent all-around binoculars.
Very happy with these binoculars. Wanted small travel binocs but so many of the travel binoc have poor optics. After a lot of research, we picked the Nikon Prostaff 7S. We are happy with the pick. Clear optics and bright view. Also lightweight and easily packable.
I bought these to replace a pair of 30 year old Bushnells still in great shape but were left behind when we came back from overseas. I had hoped these would be short, an easy to carry aid when shooting wildlife photos. The expanding eyecups which unscrew toward the user make them even longer. The diopter adjustment are not smooth but go by whole steps which click into place. I don't find the design at all helpful in the field.
A great Nikon binocular! Absolutely perfect for my upcoming African safari. Adorama had a great price and shipped quickly. I'm extremely satisfied and looking forward to using them to see some great wildlife!
I bought the Nikon Prostaff 75 Nikon binoculars because I wanted something in between my 8x42 and 8x25 Nikon binoculars with good optics that weighed less than 16 oz and that were not too expensive. These fit the bill at 15 oz. plus a higher mag than my other binoculars. They are also waterproof. I bought them for a vacation to Europe and they have worked out well. When I bought them they were also on sale and I got a free harness (though I used just the regular neck strap because it packed better for vacation). Very pleased with them.
Good Points: Good size to hold. Not difficult to focus quickly.Remain steady when focusing near to farRubber casing can be dropped without damage.Do not fog.Improvement Points: Quite heavy to hold for longer periods.Too expensive.eye casings should be attached to bins as these will get lost, unless you have the case or pocket to put them in.
I bought these for my son in grade 1. They are light and easy to focus for smaller hands. However, I use them more than he does. They are super easy to focus and incredibly clear. I use them for bird watching and to look at things when we go to the beach. They're supposedly dust, water and shock resistant which is another great feature. They nice to look at and feel well balanced in your hands. One very minor complaint is that the lens covers are a bit hard to use. To make these perfect, Nikon could have incorporated a tripod mount underneath - or a way to mount them to one. But I guess that might have taken away from their lightness and compact design.Visions electronics was excellent. I ordered them at the height of the pandemic closure.
