This is super easy to use (just pop it in the washing machine!) and has been absolutely fantastic at reviving some of my waterproof gear that was getting a little too soggy in the rain for my liking! I used the wash followed immediately by the waterproofer this time around, and will use just the wash for the next couple of cycles. I will definitely keep these 2x products stocked on the shelf to care for all my rainproof gear.

My husband and I both ride, and logging miles in SoCal adds lots of crud to our jackets. I bought this to wash our Rev'it Airwave2 and GT-R Air2 jackets in, a lot of white textile which had now become pretty dingy grey.I hand washed each jacket separately in a plastic tub, so I figured to use less Nikwax. I also used a toothbrush (dipped directly into the bottle) to scrub the really soiled areas, giving it a good amount of work. The brightness really began to return to the white, and the red piping and slashes also brightened up after some scrubbing.The wash tub water was really ugly and dark with all the removed grime. I used a separate plastic tub for the rinsing, three good dunks and swishing to get out as much residue as possible, and then a final hose off and hanging it up outside to air dry.I/we are very pleased with the results, and can recommend the Nikwax. We obtained excellent results, had no concerns with any odors afterwards, and it rinsed out cleanly. We have worn the jackets since, with no issues. Well worth the cost and effort to protect the investment we have made in quality riding gear.

I have used this product for a number of years. Waterproof breathable garments lose their ability to shed water after a period of time and need cleaning and reproofing. Ordinary detergents are too harsh and will strip the water repellent properties from the garment. Tech Wash is a more gentle cleaner which also revitalises the water repellent properties of the fabric. However as it is a gentle detergent it does struggle to completely remove ground in dirt, so don't leave it too long before you wash! Particularly dirty areas should be treated with neat Tech Wash and a sponge or a soft nylon brush before washing. Use TxDirect to renew waterproofing on garments that have not been re-proofed for some time. Simply machine wash one or two garments at a time with the appropriate quantity of Tech Wash (100 ml for soft water areas, 150 ml if you have medium or hard water) following the garment care label instructions. If you need to reproof, follow this with another washing cycle using the same quantities of TxDIrect. This will also lubricate zips on the garment, an added bonus! Available in 300 ml and 1 L bottles, the larger sizes are much more economical. Expensive? yes, compared to ordinary detergents, but not if you want your waterproof clothes to continue to keep you dry!
