Nioxin System Kit 4

A few months ago a went through a period of extreme stress. With that came hair loss which, I learned, occurs about 3 months after the severe stress. This is called "telogen effluvium" I was freaking out because my hair was falling out in chunks and I didn't know how much longer it would go on. My Nioxin Kit arrived as part of a free sample program and it definitely came when I needed it!I have been using Nioxin in combination with a few other things like taking Biotin and Iron supplements and just getting a good night's sleep and eating better.After using Nioxin for about a month and a half, I did notice an improvement and my hair fell out less. Things are back to normal now although I can't say with absolute certainty that it was Nioxin, the supplements, or just timing, as hair is supposed to grow back after a 3-6 month shedding period, I would recommend Nioxin as it does contain 2% or 5% minoxidil which is known to help with regrowth.The only con for me was that the other ingredients were not as clean and organic as I usually go for in shampoos/conditioners but after researching the ingredients online I saw that they were ok so I would recommend giving this kit a try.

Great Cleaning Product

The smell is great, you can really smell the refreshing peppermint oil. On first use, I lathered a generous amount of the Shampoo into my hair and made sure to really allow it to sit into my Scalp. While rinsing the product out, my hair felt super stringy and clumpy together, I was really scared it fried my hair somehow. The next step was to Condition, which I was really praying for at that moment. I first used a little of the conditioner but it was not enough, you really need alot of this product to help revive the life of your hair. The third step is the hair and Scalp treatment, which I only used once a week. It came out of the bottle in a foamy pump style with enough to massage onto your Scalp and apply to the rest of your hair to the ends. I found this really dries my hair, hence why I only use it once a week. After using the full three step system, I could feel my Scalp tingle from the peppermint oil. At first I did not like it, but after getting used to it, it's not as bad.Conclusion: after using this 3 step system for just over 4 weeks I have not noticed a significant change in the thinning out of my hair. I still get clumps of hair while in the shower, as well as a full brush after a couple days. Overall, I would still purchase this system as it does make my hair feel very cleansed and full of volume after each use.

Great products, but not a miracle

I received these products as part of a free sample program and have been using them for about a month now. While I have to admit that I LOVE the shampoo and conditioner, I don't think they work any magic in terms of reducing hair fall or encouraging growth. I have fine, coloured hair and I do think that these products are gentle on colour and have a great scent, very minty and fresh. After washing and conditioning my hair is very soft and feels so light and clean, it's definitely one of the best shampoo/conditioner combos I've found for my hair type. The leave-in treatment does add volume to my scalp without making my hair feel dry and gunky, which I appreciate - but it's just a leave-in treatment, not a miracle.As much as I love how they make my hair feel, I do ... MoreI received these products as part of a free sample program and have been using them for about a month now. Hair fell out!

I purchased a Shampoo and Conditioner in July 2023 for thinning color-treated hair. For over a year, my hair has been falling out in clumps and I couldn't figure out why, as I have used this brand in the past with no problems. I never dreamed it would be the shampoo, especially since it didn't start immediately. I thought it was just stress and menopause, or from a previous surgery (anesthesia) I also spoke with my dermatologist who thought I might have alopecia. I tried a topical steroid, I bought several wigs, and I stopped using styling tools completely, all to no avail. Nioxin Hair Starter Kit System 4 for Coloured Treated Hair with Progressed Thinning

This product which was recommended to me by a hair professional. I have thinning hair because of my age and I have coloured my hair for over 40 years. You only need to use a pea sized quantity of the shampoo as it lathers. It has a fresh green almost chemical smell but is not unpleasant. The conditioner is quite thin but I felt my regular conditioner was clogging my hair. Finish off with the scalp mouse which I applied to my center parting. My hair felt clean and silky. I also take zinc and magnesium supplements. I have only used the product a few times so we will see the results after a month.

Not as expected

I was so excited to try this new technology! This new 3 part system sounded the perfect product to tackle the issue I have! My hair is coloured very thin and falls a lot ( no medical issue did all blood work required) and also dry! Under the shower When used the shampoo my hair turned so dry , rough and barely was able to massage my scalp then after using the conditioner things became softer and easier ! The after wash treatment helped a lot too to make my hair feels silky and smooth! I love the feeling and how soft my hair after it dried out. However after a month of usage I can’t tell my hair became thicker ! I can’t see any change in that aspect! This product compared to other similar productsI ’ve tried is no different! Not worth it.

I received this product as part of a free sample program. I was sent each item from the Nioxin System Kit 4 - the Cleanser Shampoo, Scalp Therapy Conditioner, and Scalp & Hair Treatment. Unfortunately, despite the notes above, I was unhappy with this product because it did not seem to have any effect on the thickness or fullness of my hair, despite its claims. My hair is just as thin, just as flat, and just as lifeless. In addition, I actually found that my hair had more tangles and knots in it after washing. While the smell was nice, I would not agree that this kit is worth the cost.

Refreshing on the scalp. Lacking on the hair.

I've recieved this product for free but am giving it an honest review.I'm a hairstylist and this stuff has been around pretty much since i can remember, and it hasnt changed much- if at all. It's not moisturizibg enough and the shampoo i do enjoy as a cleanser- once a week because it's drying, almost like a clarifying shampoo. The conditioner is very light with a gel like consistency and they both have a mintyish scent and tingle your scalp/cool it which i do enjoy and find refreshing. As for the effectiveness of it actually making your hair thicker or fuller? Very good product that works!

I used Nioxin in the past for chemo related hair loss. With regular use, my hair came back in my opinion faster and thicker. I bought this again recently for medication related drastic hair shedding since I had great results in the past. So far with 2 uses, my hair quality just looks better and appears thicker, even if it's not grown in yet. I believe the little bottle of leave-in scalp product helps with that. I'm very excited for the long term results!! This product is worth giving a try. To me, it has a minty smell which is not at all off putting and gives your scalp a nice tingle as it's working. I'm very grateful for the decent price as well! Thank you Nioxin!

Worth the investment to see results

I was originally sceptical about using this product having tried other caffeine based products that have not suited my hair previously, but being able select the right system for my own hair was appealing. It has taken a while but I can genuinely see a difference in the amount and condition of my hair. I am experiencing a lot less hair fall and my hairdresser has commented on how healthy and strong the hair I have is. I would suggest allowing six months use before seeing a notable difference. It’s definitely not given me the great flowing locks I dream of but it has made me feel happier with the hair I do have.
