Nordic Ware Naturals 12 Cup Muffin Pan With High-Domed Lid 34X25cm

These are nice looking with good weight. They cook evenly and don't do that wobbly thing on the oven rack. Can tell these are made to last. Looking forward to NOT having to replace them as quickly as my last set.

BEEN BUYING NORDIC WARE 30+ YEARS AND STILL LOVE IT!!!!!

My first Nordic Ware purchase was the cake pan with lid. I LOVED it! The bottoms came out as great as the tops. Since then I've purchased more NW cake pans, cookie sheets and the muffin pans. I love them all. I have now purchased all of my children, ages 21 to 37, two sets of each (see the combo pack) so as they set up their house they can avoid wasting money on poor quality products like I first did. My original Nordic Ware pans are 30+ years old and still have no rust and wash like a dream with the occasional use of a scrubber. What I'm now purchasing appears to be the same high quality. It's important to note that the surface does scratch as it is a heavy but soft aluminum.

Bakes well and convenient lid

A good buy but the aluminum is very delicate and already has scrapes and scratches. The lid isn’t vented so there is condensation which doesn’t matter to me but for others could be an issue. I like the convenience of the lid but it seems like it will retain odor because it’s plastic but hopefully that can be fixed.

Collects Water at Corners on its Underside

I was replacing my non stick bakeware because we got birds and they can't be around PTFE and PFOA. From Target.com, I purchased two of the "Nordic Ware 12 Cup Muffin Pan with Storage Lid" and two of Nordic Ware's "The Big Sheet Pan". They looked nice, however one of the cookie sheets was given to us scratched. I hand washed one of the muffin pans and one of the cookie sheets and noticed that water seemed to collect on the underside of the pans, where the aluminum is crimped around a steel rim. I also noticed that therr are no drainage holes stamped into the aluminum to allow the water to escape more easily. I called Nordic Ware and told them about this and asked fir advice. I said but these are just proof aren't they? She said that the aluminum is rustproof, but the encapsulated steel rim is not. I made a batch of cookies (on parchment paper) and rewashed the pan, after this I noticed the muffin pan still had water in its rim so I put it in the hot oven to dry it fir about 20 minutes. I then washed the cookie sheet and propped it on its side to drain overnight. In the morning, I checked and there was still water in the rim area. I will be baking that water off in the oven and returning these pans! Too much work to get them dry and keep them from rusting! Also, the undersides of the corners of my pans are not truly encapsulated and have sharp edges where the aluminum meets the steel. Also of note is that the muffin pan's lid is quite hard to remove and I noticed a hairline crack forming in the corner of it. Maybe from my trying to remove it and replace it several times? Also the muffin pan has little to no rim to speak of which would normally allow you to remove the pan from the oven with. I will be sticking to Wilton from now on. Even Wilton's non stick coated pans, because in August of 2021 they told me "Our aluminum (Performance) pans do not have coatings on them, they are just anodized aluminum. The pans that do have coatings are our nonstick pans, and that coating is silicone polyester. • Wilton does not use Teflon non-stick coatings. • Wilton does not use any non-stick coatings manufactured by DuPont. • Wilton coatings have no intentionally added BPA, Lead, Cadmium, PFOA or PTFE • All Wilton non-stick coatings are safe up to 450 degrees F unless otherwise specified on product labeling All of our products are thoroughly tested and verified to meet applicable laws and regulations. In addition, each product undergoes extensive review by a team of safety experts and is tested by an independent lab. Please note: we do not test any of our products for animal safety, just for human safety, but our products are not formulated to have PFOA or PTFE." And that "The information provided should cover any pan made in the 2000’s and beyond! If you have any from the 80’s or 90’s we wouldn’t be able to confirm as much since rules and guidelines may have been different then, but the pans you sent photos of are all good!"

Doesn't bake well, and scratches easily

When baking in this pan, the recipes I've used have taken at least twice as long as recipes state and my other pans take, and I've needed to use aluminum foil to cover the top to prevent burning. Everything sticks like crazy, and when using a sponge to clean the product, it immediately became scratched. I purchased this because of the lid, and I regret this purchase. I don't understand how this received positive reviews.

Great Product careful when washing

I bought this muffin tin last month because I wanted to make personal size egg cups to grab on the go. It worked perfectly for that. If you sprayed the tin the eggs came out without sticking. The only downfall was making sure you don't put this in the dishwasher or use anything other than soap to clean it. The tin will tarnish wash it with something other than dish soap.

Great, but....

The pan is great for baking cupcakes and muffins. They come out just fine. There is plenty of room for lots of icing and it's great to have a cover. BUT...you almost have to 'wrestle' with the lid to get it off. I don't know if there's a trick to it that I can't figure out, but it is very hard to get the lid off. Other than that, it's great!

Nice tin. LIke it is alum and has a lid.

I have yet to use this and will likely only using it when I intend to transport my muffins to a gathering (as I will soon at Christmas). I'm tossing my old steel tins using this and some silicone muffin cups which are great. Should have done this long ago. But hey, got a goodf buy here while it was on sale.

Perfect!

These are great! I have two lidded Nordic Ware cake pans (rectangle and square), and I am as pleased with this muffin tin as I am with those. The aluminum distributes the heat evenly. And the lid is just perfect for transporting! I saw another reviewer saying the lid was low. It's a tad shallower than the depth of the pan, so unless you're baking muffins or cupcakes that are towering, it should not be a problem.

cover's been great for me!

So sorry another reviewer found the cover too low for muffin tops and unable to snap properly. Neither of those issues has arisen for me. I LOVE being able to transport muffins easily and to stack multiple covered pans for easy transport or for storage on a counter. I have lots of them.The covers are also interchangeable with the quarter-size cookie sheets and the quarter-size baking pans (typical 3-quart casserole/cake size), both of which we also have and use regularly.Incidentally, this size pan (the 'quarter' size) stacks beautifully in a 25 cu.' rolling cooler! Great for bringing a ton of food safely to a gathering. I wash them by hand, but my husband disregarded my warning, stacked a bunch in the dishwasher once, and can't understand why I'm unhappy with the discolored pans that resulted. Hey, at least he was doing the dishes(!). As we have a chance, we'll replace the pans over time (both lids and pans can be bought separately, though the price here at Walmart for the set is unmatched anywhere else!) and stick to hand washing in the future.Love this muffin pan/cover combo. Sure, I'd prefer one in stainless steel, as the other reviewer said, and wish Nordic Ware would make stainless steel versions of these and their other similarly-sized pans. Would be happy to pay extra for the stainless, too. But until they do, I'm thrilled with these.
