NYX Butter Gloss - Madeleine

I received this product for free from Influenster in exchange for my honest review. I have the Nyx Butter gloss in another shade so I knew I liked this product already, and the Bling version does not disappoint. The “bling” is really true, I felt like there was a ton of shimmer and glitter packed into this gloss. It looks overdone at first, but after I rubbed my lips together and it “settled” a minute I really liked the look. It’s not overdone and could easily be worn daily. It has a smooth feel that isn’t sticky, no weird taste/scent, and does a decent job of hydrating the lips. I was super excited to try out this lip gloss from NYX. Upon receipt it was very reminiscent of a dupe for Fenty Beauty’s hot chocolit fantasy lip gloss. The pigmentation is not as strong as it appears in the bottle, and I don’t like how you can feel the glitter in the lipgloss I really really don’t like the texture that actually put me off quite a bit. I applied multiple coats of the gloss but it’s not thick enough either. It’s very thin and it’s not my favorite. I was super excited when I saw it was gonna be a butter gloss because I love NYX butter glosses however, this does not do the trick for me. I would highly recommend it if you don’t wanna spend the extra coin to get the fancy beauty hot chocolate fantasy lipgloss. Otherwise this is gonna be a pass for me.

You could wear alone or layer over a solid lippie or gloss up elevate any look! 👄 🧈

The spatula applicator is very convenient for precise application. My lips are usually dry and chapped, but I'm glad this lip gloss covers those imperfections and leaves a beautifully smooth surface. The lip gloss has a very lightly pleasant scent that disappears after application. I was worried that the shade BLGB03 would be too dark for me, but it's not very pigmented, which is definitely a benefit for me. It's a golden-brown color with colorful glitter that gives a wet-like shine. For the price, u can not go wrong w/NYX butter glosses. I'm 46 & have zero issues w/ this product. Except for which shade I want to use for the day. I have like 10 colors so far & will buy 2 more during Ultas sale. Cinnamon Roll is my fave 90's cool tone brown. Legit cool toned! Then Creme Brulee is my fave neutral pink. They're all soooo good. I love they r not sticky. They r hydrating & not insanely pigmented so I can throw it on when I'm stopped at a light (im not condoning make-up application while driving tho!) or in b/t appts at work & know it will look good & doesn't stain. Bc they r not sticky they are not crazy long lasting, but I actually like that, I enjoy reapplying them & they r affordable so who cares. You can collect so many shades without breaking the bank. There is a shade called Praline that is my absolute go to, I have repurchased once or twice already. If you like Praline, grab Spiked Toffee and Brownie Drip too. I also got Bit of Honey, Rocky Road, Ginger Snap, Madeline, Hu$tla (new BLING Butter Gloss), and Salty Coco. I am not big on nudes, bright pinks, or dark. I like to have a more natural color and the first 3 I mentioned seem to be closest to that. I have to say, Madeline ended up being a nude shade and I only got it because it seemed to be popular— totally not for me. Nude makes me look ill. But guess what? I only spent $6 on it so no harm done! I’m sure I will use it and it looks good in the little collection on my vanity. Note there are gonna be some shades you can’t find at Target, you will have to go to Ulta for the others. Tip: I personally don’t like having to line my lips. You don’t need to with these. But I will say, sometimes you have to apply, and then blot so you can see where you applied, and then reapply again. If I know I’m going to be eating sometimes I’ll blot and not reapply because they do leave enough color behind. You can look where you applied originally and just reapply after you’re done eating/drinking. There will still be color if it wears down! That’s probably the main thing I like about these. All the money I’ve wasted on expensive lipsticks and liners before… I wish I had discovered these sooner.
