I love NYX Cosmetics (pronounced NIX) because they make excellent products but yet they’re affordable! I bought this butter trio and it’s perfect on their own or layered over lipstick. The formulation is perfect; just the right amount of “stick” and gloss. They’re not gooey or wear off like a typical lip gloss and these colors are universal. They also smell really good! If you break down the price sold separately, they’re less than $4.00 each which to me is a steal! I like that these are available in most drugstores as well as anywhere NYX products are sold. After being recommended this gloss however, I can very firmly say that that is no longer the case!This gloss is so pigmented, has a beautiful shine and absolutely stunning texture. And the shade range is also to die for, completely brown girl friendly. It glides on so buttery like a dream! I really enjoy layering glosses to get a two toned ombre effect, and these ones are perfect! I usually use 'Bit of Honey' for a nude base, and it works so well! Awesome Gloss, Warehouse Quality Control is the Issue

Butter gloss is my go-to; I’ve used it daily for years now, and I love the feel of it. It’s the *perfect* gloss! I ordered the clear version for my daughter’s Easter basket, but it just arrived with the seal broken. It’s obvious that someone opened it, which is super disappointing considering that it came straight from a warehouse. (This is something you normally see in the store because some customers think they’re entitled to open the sealed makeup right there in the aisle, but from a warehouse with only Target employees?) I’m returning it, and I’m bummed because my local stores do not carry the clear version. Just wanted to write this review for others who order this to be shipped; it may not arrived sealed.

Not buttery, sticky, rubs off instantly, exploded

Arrived with security metal packaging which covered the ingredients information on the bottle, took over an hour to get open and the metal was still stuck over the information. Took plunger out to try for the first time, was expecting a buttery consistency as the name buttery claims but it a cheap sticky feeling like you would get from a kid magazine in your childhood, it didn't stay put and smeared, just like messy clown goop. I tried leaving it as if it needed to dry but that didn't work at all and tried blotting it like you would do with a lipstick but it lifted everything entirely it was so sticky so there wasn't even a slight pigment left behind. I’m beyond upset about this. I needed to buy a new tube of my favorite Butter Gloss ever in the shade “Tiramisu”. Sad thing is I thought I was going crazy or bought a bunch of duds because I bought at least two new tubes from different stores and discovered that Tiramisu now looks like a lighter version of Angel Food Cake. What the heck?! Not only that but I contact NYX directly with my disappointment and I get two emails back with one saying “We apologize for any inconvenience these changes may have caused you. With each season NYX Cosmetics introduces new shades in order to keep up with fashion trends. Consequently, less popular shades must be phased out.
