Awesome UHF Radio, very easy to use. I really like the DTX4200X because it is a dual receive Radio. I can easily listen to and monitor 2 channels at once. I have paired the radio with the Oricom 3.5dbi and 6.5dbi interchangeable aerial kit and it works great. I always have crystal clear communication and the speaker in the unit and hand piece is loud and clear. I would definitely recommend the DTX4200X! Big thumbs up from me! A+++

Used an existing earth point to clip the negative wire to.Thank you Oricom for a great unit.

I have had this unit in a vehicle that is used on farm, highway and off road use. I love the fact I can use 2 channels at the same time and has recently become very handy during fire season when I am using it in a fire unit to monitor and use both the emergency channel and other channels during the fire. The big dial and display is clear and easy to see especially when bouncing around off road. Comes with all the gear required for quick and easy self install and the box remains hidden and neat

I am new to the CB world and with recommendations I purchased the DTX4200X IP54 Dual Receive Ultimate 4×4 Touring Pack. The size of the handset is great, easy to see and use and the install was quite easy, even for a novice like me.I played with the settings as User Guide could be a little more descriptive. Reception and transmit just does not seem right to me as reception is crackly (especially at 100kms) and when I transmit no one answers. Is that normal, I don’t know. I have purchased a SWR meter, so I’ll check that as well.VSWR check revealed every channel was >3. Something was definitely wrong.I rang Customer Service and spoke to a lovely lady (sorry forgot her name) that tried to fault find the problem for me but to no avail. She referred me to Daniel ... MoreI am new to the CB world and with recommendations I purchased the DTX4200X IP54 Dual Receive Ultimate 4×4 Touring Pack. Something was definitely wrong.I rang Customer Service and spoke to a lovely lady (sorry forgot her name) that tried to fault find the problem for me but to no avail. She referred me to Daniel and still we could not determine the problem. To my surprise Daniel sent me out another complete system to fit to the car.I replaced the first system with the new one and now it is perfect. VSWR is as per the Operating Instructions Manual Page 25 and the VSWR check was 1.00 on all channels as per pictures attached. Took it for a test drive and actually spoke to 2 people. Hooray it is working.Oricom / Daniel went out of his way to help solve the problem and when he could not he replaced my whole system. Oricom Customer Service is second to none, brilliant, and now my system is working I strongly recommend the DTX4200X system. The dual receive function is awesome and the sound quality is great.Excellent product Oricom.
I really enjoy having the dual channel. Great for working around the farm and dealing with trucks around the area. Be good to see some modern updates that Uniden has I like as a farmer is having the ability to scan unencrypted emergency services, especially RFS. The other thing it misses is a quick button to assess emergency channels. Be perfect in my opinion with those updates, especially for farm work.
I mounted my radio behind the back seat of a Triton 4wd so it is out of sight and I hate "cluttering" up the dash for a number of reasons, especially on the drivers side.I would have liked the mic extension cable to be about a metre longer as it would not reach the dash where I originally planned to mount the mic connector. Instead I had to run the mic extension under the passenger seat and connected to the mic cable under the seat. This worked out neater than I expected as the mic cable lays along the side the passengers seat and is still easily usable by the passenger or the driver. This also prevents the cable from getting under foot and cluttering up the passengers floor area. The radio, mic and cables appear to be well constructed. Audio and sensitive, etc ... MoreI mounted my radio behind the back seat of a Triton 4wd so it is out of sight and I hate "cluttering" up the dash for a number of reasons, especially on the drivers side.I would have liked the mic extension cable to be about a metre longer as it would not reach the dash where I originally planned to mount the mic connector. I recently purchased Oricom DTX4200X for a trip from Vic to Qld for safety and to keep up to date with road conditions given the recent flooding across the states. The duel channel was awesome and the Oricom DTX4200X was easy to install. It took a bit of practicing to learn the functions and I found that the instructions provided did not help in this, nor could I find a good video to speed up my use of my new toy.Over all the Oricom DTX4200X is a great device and very glad I chose it over a single channel unit.Would highly recommend.
A great unit that can be hidden under the dash in most cars. A microphone handpiece extension cable comes with the unit so distance is not an issue. The handpiece is much larger than other units, and this gives great control and clarity, but for those with small hands it may be uncomfortably large, and it makes mounting in some cars a bit of a pain.Overall a great unit that is clear, loud and good quality.
Fitted to my new BT50 with an ANU1200 antenna pack.Handpiece has clear and loud volume, fits into the palm of your hand well and is easy to navigate changing channels and volume without taking your eyes away from the road. The use of simultaneous dual channel receiving, although sounds gimmicky, once utilised is actually quite handy when setting your monitoring channel - for me that's 40, loader than you talk channel ensures you don't miss anything important whilst navigating busy outback roads.
Have a large fleet of Uhf radios in earthmoving machines, tractors and trucks. Probably somewhere around 40 radios. Various brands but probably predominately Oricom nowdays of various models. This is the first of this type which is fitted to an excavator. Monitoring two channels is extremely handy. Speaker microphone is actually better clarity than the top range model from GME. Wheel programming for volume ,channel, squelch etc takes a bit of getting used too but seems to work ok. Just have to look at the little screen very closely to see what you are setting but once done is pretty good. GME type has too.many buttons on microphone so nothing is perfect. Operators like it, value for money is good, reliability of all our Oricom radios has been probably best of all ... MoreHave a large fleet of Uhf radios in earthmoving machines, tractors and trucks. Actually have just ordered four more of this model. What dont I like? Nothing to do with this model but Oricom's stupid retailers system where only certain models are sold in certain stores. One model is only Supercheap but not Repco, another might be only a 4wd chain store. You cant even order a microphone from say Repco locally if it is fitted to a Supercheap sold model. Absolutely stupid and has probably stopped me buying a dozen Oricom radios over time when the Oricom retailer near where we are working ( in the country) cant sell me the model I want for a certain machine. Thats a fault with Oricom but not this particular model radio. Anyway, very pleased with this DTX4200 so far.
