I have been using Rainx for decades. Yes 30 years. It is a fantastic product and works very well when applied properly. Depending on the weather I will need to re-apply every 3 to 4 months. The original product is the best. I do not recommend using the washer fluid as it for whatever reason gums up your washer fluid system. I've had it happen on two different winters. Once the weather warms and I dilute it with regular old blue the system returns to regular operation. Go with the original, follow the directions and enjoy greater visibility in bad weather. This stuff is so good that at night when the road is dark (no overhead street lighting) you may not even need to turn on your wipers.

This is amazing stuff! It’s incredible how well it works. Follow the video instructions on Supercheap Auto’s website and it’s brilliant! The water beads into tiny bubbles evenly across the window and then with any motion or wind it causes the water to run up and over the roof. The harder the rain, the better it works. The faster you go the better it works also. Fascinating stuff. The only time you will need to even use your wipers will be if it’s barely sprinkling and you are driving slowly at night. Because the orange fog street lights reflect of the tiny droplets at certain angles and for a moment it is a little blinding. Like hitting angles of morning sunlight that make it hard to see. RainX is great. But I used to buy it in a small squirt bottle. That amount applied to my windshield ALSO lubricated my waning windshield wipers that were grating across the windshield. The grating would stop and my wipers would last another 3-5 months! But I think all they sell is the spray now, which has water in it, I guess. Something to thin it out. I never buff the stuff in. I just spray and turn on the wipers. Easy.

A bit early to rate water repelling qualities as it hasn't rained much since I applied it. I did drive through a light drizzle though and noticed the water was running up and off my windshield rather quickly; almost defying gravity. I'm happy to attribute that the Rain-X. My slight annoyance with the product was that it was a two step process to remove the residual 'haze' as advised in the instructions. A non-applying cloth was used for the excess but it still left the haze. Paper towels moistened with water were then used after that to finish removing the remaining haze. Tip: do this in sunlight otherwise (like me) you'll think you've removed all the haze but then you drive down the road into the sun and see all the haze still there!

Use it on the rear window too, it helps rain bead and run off it to keep it clearer too. You can use it on all the windows and side mirrors too, make them easier to clean and less stuff sticks to them. I recommend Rain-X, it works well for me.
Works well on any windows except windshield. It causes windshield wiper to skip/jump and cannot operate smoothly. After treatment, you don't need wipers on highway (above 70kph), sure, but at lower speed, you still need to use wipers. Especially in heavy rain.No problem with water repel property. It last a few weeks at least. I reommand this on edge of the windshield, side windows, mirrors, and back window.
