I am unsure as to where/how I found out about this lure but sure am glad it happened. Using the Dorado color in the Lower Keys this winter was a ticket to success. I began using it to troll "on the reef" to try for those illusive grouper but quickly found that Cero, Spannish and King Mackeral loved it (and it stood up to their teeth), Jacks, Snappers and even a Blue Runner thought it too good to pass up. Often fishing alone I could only run a single line on really windy days, if only one lure could be used this was it. When I could run two I would experiment with other colors, they worked but not ever as well as the Dorado for me. I had to come home for a while but keep hearing from some of the others with whom I shared this secret weapon and it is still going ... MoreI am unsure as to where/how I found out about this lure but sure am glad it happened. When I return there is no doubt I will take a good selection, never can predict what will be next season's hot color but I know what I will start out with!

I especially love high speed trolling these baits in summer for big Muskie and big Pike. They track true at high speeds and hold up to the teeth on the Muskie/Pike.

Always a performer, mine needed no "tuning." Ran true right out of the box. The price is a little steep, but so is quality. Worth every penny when you hear a wahoo make the reel scream...
I have been using the X-Rap Magnum in Boston Harbor, Northshore, Southshore and Outer Harbor for 3 to 4 years. Big Bass, Blues and Tuna love this lure. The 15, 20 and 30 ft mackeral and pogie does the trick. When your other lures just aren't cutting it, The X-Rap Magnum is like money in the bank. When I am with other fisherman and I am catching all the fish they wonder why. I just tell them X-Rap marks the spot.
Bought this plug along with a 50 pack of Eagle claw non-off set circle hooks . The hooks were short counted by 4 .Or there were only 46 hooks in a supposed to be 50 count box . Told the store and nothing was done .
I am a fan of the Rapala X Rap Magnum 30. I have almost all the colors they sell. I use them for grouper fishing in the North of Peru. I try several colors every time I go fishing. The bunker is for big groupers, the dorado and blue mackeral for dark water, the silver for smaller ones, the hot head always works for 10-15 pouders. They swim well and they catch huge groupers. Try them and enjoy the fighting.
We use them for Blackfin and Skipjack tunas. The XRap 15 its the best all around the 20 and 30 put some pressure on the drag (respectably). if the tunas are not running to fast they are excellent lures with above average solid hookups, if you need to chase the tunas keep a max of two lines as they could tangle up even from the riggers. As with all diving plugs with treble hooks be careful when handling them near the transom.
Whether I an slow trolling over the shallow reefs off of Block Island for Striped Bass or I am in the Tuna grounds, I ALWAYS run a couple of these deep diving fish catchers and undoubtedly get Slammed by Big Fish. Also catches Thresher Sharks!
I've been using this lure to troll for striper in the Napa river, usually witha 4 in white curly tail worm as a trailer. It has produced keeper striper both outings (since I bought them) and has performed well.in all ways. I like it because it dives to a precise depth and can be trolled fast or slow. When trolled on 15 lb mono or 30 lb braid it works well and dives to depth with about 100 ft of line out at 1-2 mph. The saltwater hooks and heavy plit rings stand up to striper slamming the bait HARD.
