RODE gear is the best! This is a fantastic, discrete, superbly designed little device which delivers top quality sound to my DSLR Camera, dedicated Video Camera, phone, and professional Roland stereo recording unit. I also use it on my laptop for making instructional videos, Video conferencing, and voice-to-text input for Dragon Professional 15 Individual. Beautifully made, quality construction, easy to use.

The photo is correct, but the description is not. This has a male TRS on one end. The female connector is for TRRS. This adapter lets you plug a mic designed for an iphone into a camera's TRS socket.

So according to DJ City Dandenong, this would do the job with the shure MVL Condenser microphone I opted for the Shure over the rode due to the support of a Android Application and the Shure MVL having being badged as a supported live streaming PERISCOPE microphone. This adaptor has the impedance for a Rode SmartLav or SmartLav+ , so when Calvin informed me that this adaptor would do the job for connecting the MVL to the Roland R-07 he was wrongly informed. The adaptor seems to be good but it's a thin cable which is concerning however I won't actually be using it!

I needed this adapter urgently to pair a Rde smartLAV with a Zoom H1. It does the trick without being too cumbersome like a lot of other adapters. I was able to mic up my interviewee and slip the H1 in his pocket seamlessly.
When I bought this adapter it worked great, looked great, it was exactly what I needed. A week after this adapter arrived it broke... I used it twice with gentle use... There is no apparent visual damage, sound just goes in and doesn't come out. I blame the cable, it is thinner than a piece of string, there is no way this product will ever last more than a year.I would have easily given this adapter a 5 star review if it worked more than a few days.
Expensive little adapter, but it does the job to connect my SmartLav mic to a Zoom H1N recorder. Cable is pretty thing, but it's the same thickness as the cable on the mic.
This is a patch cable that allows three ring (TRRS) input jacks to be adapted for use with two ring (TRS) input jacks. I personally bought a Rode SmartLav A few years back for use with an old iPhone and recently wanted to use it with my new Zoom H1n recorder. Unfortunately for me, the lav is TRRS and wouldn’t work with the zoom out of the box. The product does what it’s supposed to do and allows everything to communicate. I’ve read other reviews where people will talk about the thinness is the cable and it’s shielding and they are correct, it is very thin. That said, normal use won’t destroy it anytime soon. It’s another quality piece from Rode, as we’ve all come to expect. At $15 dollars, if you’re worried about damaging it, just buy two.
I needed a way to connect my Rode SmartLav+ microphone, which is designed for smart phones, to my Canon DSLR. The SC3 adapter worked perfectly. It's simple to use. Just plug the adapter into the camera microphone jack and the microphone into the adapter. The audio recorded was loud and clear and better than the shotgun mic that I was using. If I have any concerns it's that the cable seems very thin. It shouldn't be a problem since there's little stress while using the cable and it seems well reinforced at the connectors.
I recently upgraded to a Wireless Go 2 system for my interview recordings. Previously, I had the SmartLav+ connected to a cell phone so, rather than purchasing a whole new lab mic, this little adapter allowed me to continue using the lav with the Wireless Go 2. Just finished editing my first project and the audio was crisp and clear!
The Rode SC3 3.5mm TRRS to TRS Adapter has worked perfectly as expected throughout the two weeks I have been using it. The build quality that you would expect from Rode given their price premium is solid and the expanded use cases for a TRRS input mic like Rode's SmartLav makes it worth every penny. I can now use my SmartLav with my computer or a DSLR's standard TRS input without issue. The one thing I will mention is that the cable between the input and output jacks of the adapter is rather thin at approximately the same gauge as the SmartLav cable. This may be intentional on Rode's part to assist with concealment on person but so long as you don't continually stress this area, I'm certain that it will hold up to normal use just fine.
