Salter Professional Large Dial Mechanical Scale

The scale arrived within the time frame estimated. As others have stated the scale is large! However, it's the perfect size for standing on. It's well made, and the numbers are large enough to read with no problem. No hassle in setting it up as indicated via the instructions. I am pleased my selection.

Since COVID and being quarantined I wanted to know if I gained a few pounds. I have been looking for a nice scale that didn’t include batteries well I finally found this dial scale. I like the fact that it’s larger in size and numbers.

I love the look of this old school dial scale! The scale measurements match another digital scale I had in the house so the accuracy was okay. No complaints yet!

Great scale for me!

This Salter Professional Mechanical Scale is very nice. It came well packaged, and looked great before I took it out of the box. It will weigh up to 400 pounds, but hopefully that will never happen!  I like that the dial is easy to read, and it has a non-slip base. It shows in both kilos and pounds, which is great for my international-born husband who uses the metric system. I would recommend this to family and friends who are looking for a non-digital scale. I was gifted this product so I could write an honest review.

Inaccurate weight!

I am using this at a doctor's office. I followed the instructions for setting the scale. It is 2-3 lb heavy per every hundred lb. So for a bigger person, it can be off by a fairly wide margin. The worst thing is that setting the zero level a bit low won't help as it will underweigh lighter patients... frustrating. Probably have to return it.

Large numbers are great!

I was gifted this scale for my honest review. The scale is very large. Takes up a lot of room. Very sturdy and the large number are a plus for my eyes. It came with a screw on the back that must be removed. I had such a difficult time removing this screw. Gave up, left it sitting there and had to come back to it because it was so frustrating to me. Other than that, the scale works great and is a very sturdy product. Not cheap at all.

Made for large bathrooms

I received this scale as a gift in exchange for my honest review. The scale came shipped very nice and securely. Upon opening it , it was wrapped very securely. I followed the direction, put it at room temperature then took the screw off the back and sat it on a flat surface. I must say I also have a digital scale. I weighed myself on the scale, stepped off as the directions state then redid it and calculated the scale. Each time it did register my weight at 95lbs. however my digital scale has me at 97.3 lbs. so I am not quite sure which is more accurate. If you have a large bathroom this is right for you as it is very large. . I tried it several days in a row and it always came out the same weight, never off.

The scale is ample in size which makes it easy to stand on. Unlike an digital scale, the analog scale produces a reading immediately instead of having to wait for a digital readout. The face of the scale is big with major markings every 10 pounds and minor markings every pound which allows for precise measurement. The construction of the scale is very rugged yet its good-looking appearance complements our bathroom. Great product!

Need to find someone who'll take this off my hands

I bought this old-school Doctor's office scale thinking it would be super accurate without relying on batteries. Unfortunately, it's super clunky and pretty unreliable. I have to manually reset the dial to zero every time I use it otherwise it goes off by a few pounds. When I step up multiple times in a row, I get a slightly different reading each time, even after resetting the dial. It's now sitting in my closet waiting to be given away, or tossed.

I do not know about you but I HATE digital scales. I am always freaked out that the glass will break and the waiting for it to calculate your fatness drives me insane. I love having the old school dial. I do not have any issues with inconsistency due to the scale, just my own eating habits. Luckily my household does not need it to go up to 400 pounds but I am sure it is hard to find standard bathroom scales that do so I put that in the PRO column for this. The dial for adjusting if needed is in the front, which is super convenient for people like me who have bad knees and cannot always bend low enough to reach the floor.
