Within 1 year, more than 12 were replaced on warranty because the fluid leaked out of them, or had large air bubbles develop, rendering them useless. Of the ones that were replaced on warranty, almost all developped the same problem. In total, I've had about 45 of these and the failure rate on them is well over 60%. Horrible quality and unfortunately for my program, a giant waste of my limited funds. I can't keep track of which has already been replaced at this point and I've just written them off as a loss.

Love this little one it just the right size and very easy to use. You should always have a good compass and map with you on a hiking/trapping or hunting trip
The needle takes forever to start initiating movement after you level the baseplate. Even then, it takes another moment to wait for the needle to move. Then, you have to wait and see again if the needle still needs to continue reorient itself. Finally, when the need stops its movement you're left wondering if it is even accurate due to how long it took to settle its direction.I would rather have a quicker orienting and faster reacting needle that has a little less accuracy, than this extremely lethargic Silva compass.
Took this into the backcountry for a short trip. Took a bit of abuse and held up well. Has all the basic features you’d want for a field compass. No complaints.
Good improved bezel and easier travel arrow for field bearings. Easily converted fitting 8 mm soft kitchen cupboard and draw buffer stops prevents the compass sliding on weatherproofed map.
Needed a basic compass, and this fits the bill. Delighted with purchase. Thanks very much

Was looking for a small field compass as a backup for my main one.This unit claims to be “waterproof”. Unfortunately it’s not waterproof for anything passed a light mist, water had put it out of commission in just under a monthApparently not covered under warranty.
