Amazing kettle

I love this kettle. It looks slick, has different temperature settings and is so quiet compared to my old dated kettle. A great addition to the kitchen. Definitely worth the money!

We’ve only had ours for a month, but have used our cousins previously and both kettles were amazing.Easy to use, and brilliantly ergonomic.

Beautiful yes, functional not so much

Beautiful looking kettle with some lovey features. However, the top button that should open the lid often gets struck and requires manual opening

Looks good but.....

The kettle looks great but the push-top to open fails more than it works so that's pretty frustrating since it needs to be used every time you have to put water in it - which is almost every time! I'm so disappointed in this purchase,

Nifty little hot rocket

This is a great, stylish kettle. It's fairly quiet, and the ability to have the chime sound on or off as preferred is nice. The variable temperature setting is so useful. My only complaint is that it can be difficult to see the water level when filling the kettle, due to the placement and colour of the water level indicator. But it's a minor issue and similar to my previous non-Smeg kettle anyway! Also matches my Smeg toaster and looks just gorgeous in my kitchen. I would recommend this kettle to anyone seeking a sleek, aesthetic piece that also gets the job done.

It all seemed so promising. A SMEG kettle, Fifties styling, in red. Yippee. OK, it was expensive (one of the most exy that I saw) but Appliances Online gave a very competitive price. Besides, it was **SMEG** so it would be well-built, it would last, etc. and the cost would not matter so much. Then the thing arrived....Please Note: To be totally clear, Appliances Online is in no way to blame for what follows. Appliances Online really is a great company to deal with, the goods I have bought from it - before this kettle - have been great, their delivery service is excellent, and so I have no complaints there. This less-than-glowing review is 100% down to SMEG and its manufacturing arrangements.The build quality and functionality of this kettle is abysmally substandard, not just for the price point but full-stop. I have seen better-built and more useful things fall out of a Christmas cracker and here's why ...First, there is a *lot* of plastic, including many of the bits that look like metal in the photos.Next, component fit is very poor. The jug doesn't sit on its base properly and so electrical contact is not great (e.g. **never, ever** dare to put the jug on the base slightly off true unless you like electrical crackling noises). Perhaps more annoyingly, the flip lid doesn't open consistently (the latch button jams frequently) and the combination of poor latching and poor sealing between the lid and the body (at the front of the lid) means steam escapes from places it is not supposed to as the kettle boils.Finally, the sounds ... argghhh, the sounds. It makes a truly horrible "bingly-bongly" noise when it starts up from standby (like a cheap musical box that has lost the will to play actual notes in actual tune). Then you have to press the start button **again** (with another horrible noise) to make it boil. And, just to add final insult to injury, you get a third horrible noise when it boils.In short, I detest this shoddy, tacky and nasty object with a passion. I would cheerfully run it over with my car if my spouse would let me.

Quiet, quick and a standout

Boils quickly without a loud “whistle” just a light ping. Great for infusion teas as the temp of the water can be set lower if desired. Love the retro look and the colour. Just love my SMEG kettle - it’s the best!

Smeg kettle

I love it!! I opted for the temperature one and I’m so glad I did. At first I thought wow it gorgeous but heavy and now it feels normal. Great addition to my kitchen. Well worth the long wait .I love it. Great design

Smeg kettle. Good looking unit

This kettle is a solid unit that looks great on the bench. It grips well and doesn't slide around. Nice chime when setting the temperature and tuning it on. The kettle itself is quite heavy and has taken a little to get used to. Otherwise my wife absolutely loves it. Time will only tell if it was worth the money. At this time certainly seems a quality unit.
