I won't even lie, I used to be one of those people who say "a kettle is a kettle" but now I'm a Smeg believer. I received my kettle and toaster and they were absolutely worth every single penny.For home decor lovers, a Smeg kettle is both a kitchen appliance as well an accessory. The kettle complements my all-white kitchen really well. The quality is absolutely amazing and it works really fast.The packaging was fantastic, it was sealed in two boxes, and the inner box also had some extra protective material.All in all, I can not fault my experience.I'm looking forward to my next purchase where I will be getting the smeg blender.

2nd purchase

This is the second time I have bought this toaster. The first one died after 7 years due to an errant currant. I did but a different brand in between but that died after 3 months. I love the styling of this brand, and I have to say this one gives a more even toast than its predecessor. I hand knocked off one star only because I seem to keep turning the dual when I move it, which didn't happen with the first one.

Beautiful

I ordered the pink. It's a beautiful colour. Very substantial weight and feels good quality. I was concerned that in the photo the holes for the toast looked small but I needn't have worried as it's bigger than it looks and I've had no problems fitting my bread in there. The button to extract the bread is nice. Whilst smeg is expensive/a luxury item, in my view it's so worth it because the quality of the product is significantly better than cheaper brands that are £30-40 for a toaster. I couldn't go back to a Russell Hobbs now.

Beautiful but unusable

I was really looking forward to this beautiful toaster but after a few days I have to say that it is unusable from my point of view. I toast mostly thinner slices of bread and every second toasting process the slices slide past the toast holder and then jam. Then to get them out again is almost impossible. I am very disappointed because I find the design just magical and the processing is great.

Fabulous toasting!

I am very happy with the quality of this toaster, it is the first one I have owned that actually evenly toasts all of the bread surface. It is also very good toasting bagels and leaves the one side soft and chewy whilst toasting the other ( if you remember to press the bagel button of course!) Crumb tray easy to remove. Toaster finish in black looks great. I thought a lot about the cost as it was quite expensive but worth it, I have made a good purchase.

Inconsistent results -didnt last as long as I expected/hoped

We liked the style of the toaster and it felt like a quality product. It had strong reviews on Which.Unfortunately, from the very start - the first slices would need to be on a higher setting and then reduce it one or two notches for further slices to avoid burning.Its now completelty unpredictable and you have to stand over it / keep pushing the toast down again.I thought it only lasted a couple of years but checked back and I purchased in 2016 - so not as bad as I thought - It lasted 5 before it became pretty useless. Which I think is disappointing.So - ok (but not great) while it lasted.I now need to go into the loft and fetch Grannies old Brown and Cream flower pattern Russel Hobbs!WIll look at a Dualit next... perhaps should have gone there in the ... MoreWe liked the style of the toaster and it felt like a quality product. Not built to last

Perhaps my expectations were too high after my previous toaster lasted over 8 years (and possibly more if I hadn't changed my colour scheme).I bought this one and the matching kettle but it only lasted 3 years. Out of warranty so not worth fixing. I don't think I would spend the money again - there are cheaper alternatives that would last longer, look just as good and make the same toast!

Quite small. Nice design. Long lasting?

We bought this to replace a prior SMEG toaster that we liked but it stopped working (throwing the sensitive fuse on our electricity switchboard) after more than two years. I couldn't find an economical way of fixing it so reluctantly bought a replacement. We'd also bought a toasting attachment to go on top which had been pricey so we wanted an identical replacement.Unfortunately, this is smaller than our original so my plan failed. Hence it's too small for big slices of bread or for naan bread.So: check the dimensions rather than just look at the picture (as I should have done) and just hope it doesn't go wrong after two years.

Smeg 2 slice toaster

I love the look of this toaster and noticed that Barbie had one in pink in the Barbie film. It feels and looks very solid. I would have liked it in a navy colour to match our new kitchen but the pale blue still looks great.And now for the toast ...It toasts evenly on both sidesThe bagel function is useful.It would have been useful to have a high lift function for smaller items.

The best I have ever owned

I have had several toasters over the years and this was the most expensive so I was expecting great things from it. So far it has not been disappointed. It is the only toaster that browns evenly on both sides at the same time. My previous one, also a high end make, only browned one side and the other no colour.Would definitely recommend.
