The plastic look and feel of these definitely reminds me of a handful of bad amazon purchases of no-name brands. Handling them didn't give me much confidence. Pairing: pairing these were easier than usual, as you turn them on and quickly hear the pairing prompt. It feels like it aggressively pairs as it listed itself very immediately to all of my devices. Simply hit pair and its good to go, as it also informs you very clearly of a successful pair. Audio: The audio quality was surprisingly good and loud. These get LOUD- as I never had to come close to raising the volume full spec. Fit: The fit my head well and I have a huge head. The cups rotate but the rotation is not equal in both directions. If you feel a light pinch, tilt the top of the headphones (the headband) towards the front of your head, the cups rotate to conform and the pinch is reduced greatly for extended listening sessions. The cups do not cover the entire ear for a full grown adult. Overall: I recommend these at the $40 price point. The materials feel cheap, so be careful. I wouldnt buy these for a child. Additionally, these do not fold in any direction- the headband and the cups do not have hinges at this price. Attempting to fold will definitely break them. Very easy to use and switch between devices. Solid quality, loud and decent bass. I really enjoy these as a work or leisure headset, around the house, etc. I wouldn't use these for kids or at the gym. ✅Recommend!!

These are only slightly better than my cheap ones from an online retailer. I’ll go with the pros first since they are short. Also, I’m not an audiophile, I use my headphones at the gym or doing lawn work. Pros: It has good sound and nice bass for my needs. I typically listen to metal and don’t like amplified bass. Sound is clear. Battery life is good. Better than what I had. Cons: The fit stinks. It sits on my ears not over so they are pressing my ears down which means it gets uncomfortable after 20-30 minutes. They are very flimsy. One tumble or misstep and I figure they are going to break apart. No noise cancelling (it’s not advertised and I didn’t expect it but I figured they would go over my ear and block out sound). Then the best of the worst is that when you are on a call it picks up ALL sound. Example, when I’m at the gym and I get on a call it picks up the music, the people talking (next to me or across the gym), and even squeaks from machines I can’t hear standing next to the machine. I accepted a call on them today and the person couldn’t hear me because of this. I looked it up and it’s a feature. For those in the back that didn’t hear… it’s a FEATURE. Read it on Sony’s website it’s called Sidetone or something and can’t be turned off or down. If none of the cons bother you then great get them. I’m glad I got them on sale and not full price because I would have been mad to pay 3x more than my previous cheap ones only to be slightly better.

Buyer beware. These headphones do not work with kids messenger. I spent hours communicating with SONY tech support. Two sets of headphones with 6 other devices messing with every setting possible. We could not get them to work and SONY told me to reach out to Facebook. They are denying there's any flaw in the technology. When pushed in the exchange the tech told me "These are basic headphones and you can make them to work with normal calls. It seems they are not compatible with video calls." Unfortunately we bought these with the primary purpose for my kids. I was told that I shouldn't be buying basic headphones for this use.

Excellent sound for watching movies, comfortable
31 January 2023

I got these for watching movies on our smart TV. I was having a hard time hearing the dialogue and was constantly turning the volume up and down throughout the movie. Problem is now solved! I'm quite happy with the sound quality. Dialogue is clear and background sound and music is distinct but not overpowering and no heavy bass - just what I was hoping for. I can now watch a whole movie and hear every word w/o having to adjust the volume even once. The headphones are comfortable, easy to pair w TV, they turn off and on easily with one touch. Thank you Sony for a great product!

Good Headphones but directions need help
7 January 2023

Sony is a well-respected name in electronics which is the first reason I looked at this headphone set. When I opened the box, the directions are all in drawings. Text would be good to accompany the drawings. Because the drawings cannot do a good job explaining something, text is really needed. I found the headphones charged up fully overnight. The Bluetooth link was easy to establish, probably because I’ve linked them to an iPad which is very intuitive doing this. The sound is rich and full for such a small pair of headphones. There is not going to be any concert hall quality but I like what it is putting out for sound.

Good for music, too much background for calls.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a pair of work or leisure wireless headphones, these are a great option. They dampen just enough outside sound with the on the ear design (although I recognize folks with bigger ears than mine might find the smaller circles uncomfortable) and produce a fairly crisp sound for being a wireless device. I will say, taking calls though is a challenge as they pick up any and ALL background resulting in my ADHD brain struggling to focus on the person talking. I did find that even with my small ears, a break is necessary about 2 hours in to avoid a headache even though the padding is better than some much more expensive options I've bought, and the band expanded without issue for my larger than average head. Still, I'd caution anyone with pressure migraines to use these with an awareness that they are *on ear* instead of *over ear* as I know some are more affected by pressure directly on the ears. I've used these while working on a computer, cleaning, sewing, and working on choreography which was a real treat because every other wireless headset or ear buds I've tried have gone flying off while doing barrel turns or prop work. Definitely an improvement in terms of my neighbor relations who aren't always up for my many music choices that vary from modern Egyptian pop to classic rock and more. This way, I can work on what I want to without annoying anyone and better concentrate on layered rhythms, but I will say the mid range falls out compared to the treble and bass (pretty common for sets in this range, and especially anything wireless) which does make some genres less enjoyable than others. If I had a sensory student or a kid struggling to get work done at home, these are the investment I'd suggest parents make. If I was working with a young musician or aspiring audio engineer, not so much. Again, there's very obvious loss in the mid range which effectively obscures the depth of tone regardless of source. It's not something the average listener will likely notice much, let alone be annoyed with when listening to most popular music. The biggest cons for me with this set is the loss in the mid and that the plastic design and flipping ear cups make me worry these will break easier as others with this design have met their sad fate. Finally, there's no passive use option from the lack of a 3.5mm jack and the USB-C plug only works to charge. If the few cons don't outweigh their affordability, these seem like a solid investment. Long battery life and a strong connection even on the other side of my considerable apartment makes me feel these are definitely worth the extra care that looks like it will be necessary for the plastic only design.

Great for Listening but NOT for Using for calls

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] For those looking for an on-ear headset this is a good option depending on your needs. Charging the headset is pretty quick so if you only have a few minutes 10 minutes will give you 90 minutes of play. A full charge is great and I can use it multiple times before needing the charge it. It says it makes it 35 hours on a full charge and after using it for a while, I agree. In regards to what I don’t like about the charging, a charging cord that was a longer would be beneficial, the short cord makes it more difficult to charge because it barley allows the headphones to rest securely on the counter without standing them up against something. The headset itself adjusts easily to my head size and is comfortable sitting on my ears. The sound of the headphones is good. I feel that playback is clear and crisp. The Bluetooth range is good as well. I can get 20-30 feet away from my phone and I don’t lose the connection. It connects quickly to the phone without me having to mess around and figure out what’s happening. The buttons for power and volume and easy to decipher on the headset. Using them with the headset is on is taking some adjustment. It’s quicker and easier to adjust the what I need on the phone as opposed to using the headphone. The headphones have a mic for making calls but I DON’T LIKE THIS FEATURE AT ALL. When trying to use it for calls all I hear is myself in stereo. Me talking and my talking coming through the headphones. The person on the other end of the call said I sounded fine but I found it overly distracting. My final thoughts on these headphones are if you’re looking for an on-ear headset option for the purpose of listening to music, podcasts or videos then this is a good option. It lasts for hours, charges quickly and is comfortable to wear. The lack of longer charging cord isn’t a reason to not buy this product and hopefully a cord with some more length is something Sony will look into. If you’re looking for something to chat and make phone calls with, look for something else. I definitely recommend these headphones depending on your needs.

Low volume, but it has long battery life.

I wear them sitting down to listen to music or YouTube videos up to 4 hrs. at a time so I'm not disturbing others in the house, and for walking on the treadmill to keep me entertained. If you're poor & on a budget like myself, these Sony WH-CH510 Wireless On-Ear Headphones will definitely get you by until you can do better. No app is required to use them, another reason I like them. Fast and easy set up on your devices for even the least tech savvy individuals.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best Sony model yet ! wow these sound very crisp and are very balanced in the highs, mids, and lows. It definitely punches above its weight in terms of sound quality. The bass (with bass boost enabled) sounds good but not over bearing. If you're a huge bass head these won't give you ultra deep earth shattering bass like a pair of Sony XB950b1's would, BUUUTTTT the bass is still quite strong on these PS4 Gold headphones, no complaints here. I used the newly released Doom Eternal as a test bed for these and wow I was blown away. Explosions have some real weight with good bass behind them, bullets sound crisp, demons/monsters sound truly intimidating and everything just sounds so clear without distortion. The 7.1 virtual sound is a nice addition and definitely is a decent substitute to an actual home theater audio system when you don't want to disturb anyone else. Of course it won't replace an actual 7.1 sound system but for a pair of headphones it's definitely good. I've tried the mic out and I have to say it's about average. The mic's sound quality is not horrible but it's not great either, it's merely adequate and it gets the job done. Overall I mostly play single player games so it's a non issue for me regardless if the mic is bad or great. The build quality is good, it doesn't seem like it would break easily. However it is mostly plastic so keep that in mind, it's not using any premium materials like aluminum or magnesium so long term durability is an unknown but I think they can last 4 to 5 years with good care.

Delivery was horrendous. The outsourced company "Shipt" was next day delivery. But they couldn't read a simple apartment address, so they had to get another "shopper" to deliver. Next time, I'll wait and go to the store in person, even a week later. The headphones- pretty darn good! There is zero noise cancel on these, but I didn't expect any from the price. But instead, I got a great sound with even some very good bass! I wasn't sure if I'd like the on ear enough, instead of around the ear. I like these, because the entire headband is plastic. The ear cups are fake leatherette but should last a few years I think. I played some YouTube trailers and the theatre sound was pretty darn rich and overall very pleasing. The box these came in made me think they were tiny, but once unpacked, the ear cups fold flat and these will be EASY to pack and carry when I travel or go camping. These are very well worth the price, and not at all super flimsy as some say here. Thanks.
