Very bright on full power and lights up to a long distance. Good close range light on part power. Batteries last a long time. Very robust like all Dewalt tools.

I got a couple of these lights via redemption on a couple of other DeWalt tools I bought. I’ve used them a few times now and I’ve found them to be very bright. The DeWalt Australia website specifies a maximum output of 1500 lumens, while the various shop websites selling the item specify 1000 lumens, so I’m not sure which is correct.I haven’t used them for long enough to drain a battery, though run-time is allegedly more than 10 hours (on a 5 Ah battery), which seems good. In addition to projects around the home, I reckon they’ll be a useful light to take camping, although their cool temperature light lends themselves more to jobs/projects/work than relaxing at camp where a warmer light would be better. The lights are simple to operate with just one button used ... MoreI got a couple of these lights via redemption on a couple of other DeWalt tools I bought. There is a decent spread of the beam, with stronger focussed light in the centre of the beam. I can see the hook at the back of the light being useful at times. One thing I would have liked is the ability to point the light downwards, so that it could be sitting on a surface (e.g. a table) and directly lighting up that surface. However it only has the ability to shine between horizontal and vertically upwards, with indexed positions in between. At $189 a piece, I’m not sure I would have bought one of these if I didn’t get them via redemption, as I prefer to use a headtorch. Portable/hand-held torches seem a bit redundant to me with such good head torches available nowadays. But now that I have them, I’m sure I’ll find uses for them every now and again. They’re a very powerful light with good runtime, and seem to be well-built and durable.

Great torch, powerful beam, with the added bonus of being powered by my existing power tool batteries.
Excellent service from buyaparcel but be WARNED if purchased elsewhere only DeWalt are promoting this lamp as 1500 lumen on their uk website but many are selling the 1000 lumen version I.e. type 1 as the new. In other words do not trust the DeWalt website for the unit your buying but check with the seller that your buying the newer type 2 higher output very misleading. Full marks to buyaparcel for being honest and supportive.TYPE 1 IS OLDER 1000 LUMENTYPE 2 NEW IS 1500 LUMEN
Impressive light . A great addition if you already have numerous dewalt tools, or at least numerous batteries. Slightly disappointed that the batteries rattle a touch when fully inserted into light. Tried various batteries new and older. All rattle. Possibly a sliver of foam secured somewhere would sort.
I needed a good torch for the power cuts we have been told to expect. Ordinary torches the batteries are always flat when we need one.
Well worth it, for working in the pitch black, as I work on the night shift. Working on construction sites.
Usual Dewalt quality, a good (not great) torch. Other cheaper torches are better. It isnt a great work light either because it doesnt give a good spread of light. Its handy that it takes the dewalt batteries, but I dont imagine Ill use it much...
I have the 18v dcl040 which is a very good torch but this is in a totally different class, the distance and brightness of this is fantastic, it has two settings 1000 lumens and 100 lumens and this is the only sore point for me, you press the switch first and you get full power press again and you get low, press again to switch off. I personally think it should be other way around 100 lumens then 1000 but hey ho it's really good and definitely recommend.
