Strymon Nightsky Time-Warped Reverberator Pedal

$573.98

(56 reviews)

This is not a synth pedal, This is not a reverb pedal. The Strymon Night Sky Time Warped Reverberator is simultaneously both, neither and so much more. It sends your strums and twangs on audio expeditions through time and space with destinations as diverse as your imagination allows. Pulsating patterns and show-stopping swells are just a push, pull or turn away with a powerful onboard eight-step sequencer and the Night Sky's ingenious 'Morph' feature. From high-end wash and full-bodied fundamentals to octaves, intervals and dynamic overdrive, hack into your harmonics using the extensive Voice section. The Time Warped Reverberator's unprecedented versatility provides inspiration on tap, with 16 presets easily accessible from the front panel to get you started. Synth-savvy guitarists will find many features you'd expect from a standard synthesis control section, with a waveform shape select button, decay controls, and a dedicated filter section. Likewise, regular Strymon users will find familiar features like a quick-access 'Favourite' footswitch, and their signature secondary parameters, giving each knob and button a dual function and expanding the Night Sky's sonic palette further still. For ambient, experimental, and sound design (or any guitar application that needs a little space-time spice) the Strymon Night Sky is a cosmic companion you won't want to miss.

Truly amazing unit. Very inspiring because it's very "hands on" as all the functions,(almost), are on the top panel. Does things no other verb pedal can match. Only thing I don't like is the matt finish on the casing. Feels to the touch like wet and dry sandpaper and marks easily, but the sounds that come from within are super-stellar.

As I expected this pedal

As I expected this pedal can do the standard big reverbs well but that’s only using about 10% of the pedal, it’s a great ambient reverb with amazing control, the sequencer is awesome aswell. The infinite mode is cool for pad and jamming to aswell!!

Great effects pedal
16 February 2021

After watching endless videos on YouTube for the right pedal to kick start my effects bus board I decided in the nightsky. I already have the Magneto in my eurorack setup so I know that strymon deliver quality products. PMT were offering the best value for money and I cannot fault the service. Super fast delivery makes for one very happy gear nerd!

This thing is awesome, so much more than just a digital reverb and more like a sound designing tool. You can change even simple dull sounds into wonderful effects with filtering and modulation. Greta fun to play with as well.

Specialist kit - but great
3 March 2022

I watched hours of YouTube videos before taking the plunge, as I already have an Eventide Blackhole (amazing). As most sensible videos make clear, this is slightly unusual and probably not for a casual or straightforward reverb user wanting spring, plate, hall etc. (although it does this). I am primarily using this for recording, and similarly, many videos emphasise its studio usage (and not just for guitar). So far, I’m a 'tip of the iceberg' user but learning. The panel controls are great and extensive and there are also deeper secondary functions. I do wish Strymon had designed software for editing too, but one can only hope that comes in the future. Meantime, it’s controllable enough but you’ll need the manual on hand. Meantime, it’s controllable enough but you’ll need the manual on hand. Some obvious features are a bit hidden - it took me a while to find a transition setting that smoothly takes one reverb type to another (rather than a sudden change). It’s the ‘persist’ function accessed from power-up mode, and is factory set to ‘off'. The ‘morph’ function is similar but is something different and not a universal function. The 16 presets are good enough to use as starting points to design your own sounds and are pretty good. I haven’t even touched the sequencing mode yet! Conclusion: if you want some pretty unique sounds and have studio usage, then it’s great. If you want a simple reverb with obvious options for mostly live performance, you’re probably better off looking at other options. Me? I’m very happy with my purchase.

This is a very good pedal and if you persevere you can get great sounding results. It’s not a Big Sky with all the presets rather a pedal that favours experimentation. I’m using it to add lovely ‘shimmery’ reverb primarily to my stage piano but it sounds awesome with acoustic guitar to. The attenuation switch on the back allows for this dual purpose.

Not a conventional reverb, but the quality and the range of other-worldly sounds it generates are astounding. Crammed into a foot pedal case necessitates that some functions can only be accessed using multi-function knobs and buttons, and are hidden from users who haven't read the 53 page manual. 16 editable presets and very useful, and a sequencer mean this pedal can almost be used as an instrument in its own right.

Takes a plain old signal

Takes a plain old signal and turns it into a colourful galaxy of sound! Also turns the reverb into it's own noise source which can be pitch sequenced.
