I respect the Thorne line of supplements and ordered Amino Complex in both Lemon and Berry to compare taste. My review of 2 stars was posted for the Berry flavor which is not correct. I will not purchase the Lemon flavor again, even having the same quality ingredients that I look for, only because of the chemical taste that Thorne should've found a way to disguise. I gave up on a certain line of mushroom enhanced coffee for the same reason of the company not able to disguise a muddy, fungal taste that ruins a morning cup of rich dark coffee. But don't hesitate to try the Berry flavor if Aminos are called for in your sports training.

Thorne is a clinically validated line of supplements, trusted by many health and fitness professionals. I am trying more of the products in this line when needing to re-order any of my vitamins or supplements, after reviewing the nutrition labels. The only product that has been disappointing is the Amino Complex powder in the Lemon (Citrus) flavor. It is hard to drink even when mixing with juices or herbal iced tea because of the intense chemical taste. I need BCAA's in my sports diet so I'm glad I tried the Berry flavor as it is very drinkable, tastes good as soon as I finish my workout.

I must admit ingredients proportions and quality - I read WHO recommendations and this amino complex has close proportions to these recommendations.This is my first try of taking amino acids during sport training period - I am satisfied. It helped me to gain muscle, but not sure about energy.It has strong berry very sweet taste, I took nearly 55% of complex and I am already tired of this taste. After 60% - I am nauseous after taking this supplement, my body rejects this.For me better not flavoured food supplements because I can change taste by adding some food ingredients.Anyway it is good amino complex! I’ve used this product for years as I have trouble getting enough nutrition. It has a great flavour, mixes thoroughly and if I remember to take it regularly I feel a boost. Not in an immediate caffeine hit sort of way but in a general smoother energy over time. If you drink it out of a bottle I do recommend rinsing it promptly as it doesn’t smell great over time and washing thoroughly is important as it does leave a bit of a residue compared to my electrolyte powders. It’s gone up in price (what hadn’t?) but I have yet to find a comparable product I like as much as this one. The lemon flavour is also excellent.
I’m really happy with this purchase. I suffer from ME and use this almost everyday. It doesn’t cure my illness by any means but it seems like my body likes it. The taste is good and fresh. A bit weird aftertaste but it’s ok. I feel more refreshed when I remember to take it. Just wish the price was a bit lower - as I can’t afford it all the time. The quality seems great and I feel confident with this brand. Good for protein.
this for me has been one of the few supplements i have taken that I can say with certainty I cannot go without.I advise the berry flavor over the lemon. i also advise taking this with 1 liter of water. do not be tempted to drink with less water, as it will create a sickening sugar flavor.this drink will make you feel better within HOURS of drinking it.it is a complete game changer. i highly advise adding this to your routine if you suffer from Hashimoto's or hypothyroidism.it can be used for even those who dont go to the gym. the amino acids are very important for people with hashimotos.this drink has changed my life, my body aches less. my mood improves and i recover more quickly from a night out dancing, or when i am studying too hard.

I really like their product normally, but this one it a huge fail. The taste is really sweet and sour. But why put stevia in this composition ? My rosacea was so bad after taking this and my stomach was on fire. It know that stevia is a bad diet substituteThe possible side effects include nausea, bloating, low blood pressure, and hormone disruption. Long term administration of stevia significantly increased cholesterol levels and significantly decreased HDL levels (serum high-density lipoproteins) and increased LDL levels (serum low-density lipoproteins). Levels of free fatty acids were significantly higher than those of control groups.
To the people bemoaning the bad taste. Yes, it tastes bitter and unpleasant but you get used to it. You're an adult. If you can't overcome that, then feel free to add sugar or fake sugar to get the flavored version.Overall, this is a great product. It's pure EAAs, no garbage fillers, no taste enhancers, flavors or any of that toxic stuff. What's great about these EAAs is that they're so pure they don't even trigger an insulin response, at least in my experience. You can even take them while water fasting. They're not going to mess with your fast.
