I have had 2 Victa trimmers now and a blower and the quality is all the same really. To the people having trouble starting it. My Victa trimmer refuses to start on full choke either (I actually have more luck on 0% choke) and you might think as I did when i first operated it that you can't use 75% or 50% choke as it flicks between 100% and 0% if you pull trigger but you can. To start prime it 10 times, then flick to 100% choke once its on 100% put your finger on choke lever and slide it back to say 50% or 75% choke. Ensure its switched to on and pull then on second pull starts every single time. I had to do this with my old Victa trimmer but my Victa blower is fine on full choke.

Honestly shocking for victa.I thought it would be at least half decent but nah. As soon as I bought it and first tried to start it I knew it didn’t feel right. The pull start is shocking. I’m typing this as in about to return it.The cord wont retract back nowAnd the choke is horrible. The carby is obviously out of wack. You have to start on full throttle and choke offI’ve also just been told that it’s repair warranty instead of exchange. So yeah great.Honestly worst thing ever.Don’t buy.!And it also leaks everywhere

Although i paid less than $300 for this model at bunnings earlier in the year, even at a price hike you cant go wrong with Victa. I run my own property maintenance business which includes yard tidy ups & mowing, this brush cutter gets used on a daily basis and its an absolute work horse, easy to start and operate and gets the jiob done. Its pretty much all you need for home or professional use.

It gets flogged around in the back of the ute. Always left outside rain hail or sno... no snow yet. Always starts first go. Only thing I hate is the stupid cord you had to buy but a blade sorted that out
My mother bought this about a month ago and straight out of the box it had issues. I bought the 50:1 fuel that was recommended and upon first start up it started and ran like crap and then It stalled. After trying to restart it the coil in the pull start failed and now it won't retract. The thing now won't start. Absolutely disappointing.
I rum my own property maintenance business and purchased this model earlier in the year and it gets heavy use on a daily basis, and i can tell you it's an absolute workhorse with plenty of power. Easy to start and operate, all you really need for profssional or home use.Obviously there are fake reviewers and trolls with nothing better to do than dribble nonsense, they simply have never used the model, the ones that may have used it obviously do not have the ability to understand how to operate a brush cutter, therefore its broken.its the problem with reviews. We use this Model and its a very good and realiable brush cutter, its all you need.I Notice Bunnings have raised the Price.
I found it was a pain to get started until i realised the instructions needed to be followed exactly in order. I couldnt tell you how to replace the cutting cord, the head it came with does not seem to be identified anywhere by Victa, sooooo its just sitting there gathering dust until i buy a new head for it.
I’ve had this victa brush cutter for about over a year and it’s one of the worst pieces of equipment I have.I used brush cutters and small engined equipment daily at work and I purchased this victa unit due to its price and compatibility with attachments if I’d like some in the future. It barely does 10 minutes of work once or twice a week and I’ve had pull start issues, fuel issues (stopping while using) starting issues and I’m pretty disappointed in myself for not spending a few hundred extra and getting something reliable.Never again. I feel sorry for the DIYers out there who would have to take this is for warranty or to pay to get it fixed.
Do not buy this trimmer.I've had mine for less than 6 months and it's already cooked. The thing is near impossible to start.Even when it was brand new it never felt quite right... Power would cut-out mid use.If you want to give yourself plenty of headaches then this is the trimmer for you.
Straight out of the box and following the manual, it wont start. After several minutes pulling the cord and playing with throttle and choke, it starts and the carburetor is out of adjustment - stalls on wide open throttle....The thing smells like burning plastic after about 5 minutes.... don't waste your time.
