Got the boning knife over two years ago and have been using it happily since. It came almost dangerously sharp out of the box and has hold its edge very well since. It's comfortable to hold and has a good amount of flexibility. Considering I paid 16.99 for it back then this has got to be one of the best bang for buck knives out there.

I bought this knife on impulse, the 20% off coupon triggered it. I have had the 8 inch Victorinox chefs knife for over 5 years and have been very satisfied with it. So, I thought, if an 8 inch knife is good why wouldn't a 10 inch knife be better? I was expecting the 10 inch knife to be heftier. It is not. On the kitchen scale the 8 inch knife weighs 6.4 ounces and the 10 inch knife weighs 6.6 ounces. That said, the 10 inch knife is nice for slicing and dicing larger amounts of food, e.g., six stalks of celery. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and think I will come to like the 10 inch knife at least as well as the 8 inch if not more so.

I saw this knife rated as Cooks Illustrated's top choice on a chefs knife and couldn't believe the price compared to much more expensive knives. I got this for Christmas and it is truly fantastic! It slices better than the other chef's knives I own and is very smooth when chopping and feels very solid in my hand without being too heavy. The 8" blade is a little large for my personal taste so I may see if they have a smaller version that I am personally more comfortable with but that is nothing on this knife just personal preference.

I really wanted a good sharp knife, and after a long search and reading many good reviews about this knife, I bought it. What a SHOCK!!! This knife is NOT sharp at all. You will have to push really hard to go through even a small tomato or onion!, and with time is getting worse and wors even though I do not use it on regular bases. I don't use it everyday. It does not work for watermelon or small melon! I am very upset with this buy!! It is very expensive and just wasting money. Save your money and DO NOT buy it!!!
I've been using this knife for about 2 years. It was cheaper than many other quality chef knives. Maintains its edge for a long time and is easily sharpened with a hand sharpener. Perfect size and weight. Right curve to rock when chopping veg. I don't know why I waited so long for this great knife.
This is probably one of the best bargains you can get if you're looking for a serious Chef's knife. It was very sharp right out of the box. Slices through potatoes effortlessly! This is a good all around, no nonsense Chef's knife. Nothing fancy. No awesome Damascus patterns on the blade. No exotic wood handle. No Japanese characters hand stamped into the blade. Just a well made, well finished knife.Buy the other knives to show off. Buy this one to make dinner!
The knife feels like it's been punched out of tin can stock. Very thin, very light, very cheap. Below average quality and feel. Hugely overpriced. This is sold by eKitchenworld.com and their return policy is very, very bad: no returns if opened, restocking fee, you pay the shipping to return. I'll be sure to NEVER buy from eKitchenworld again.
I already owned the 8 inch version of this knife and decided, on impulse, to use a 20% off coupon to buy the 10 inch knife. I am really glad I did. The 10 inch is now my go-to knife. There is something about the longer blade that I really like. The handle and blade are similar to the 8 inch so that isn't it. The 10 inch simply works better for the slicing and dicing that I do. The four star rating is based on the fact that, if you want to spend the money, you can certainly buy a better knife.
Like a lot of people, I watch the cooking shows and love to try different recipes. Of course I'm not a professional chef and don't expect professional results but I want to work with good equipment. I started looking at knives and was all set to buy the Shun knives recommended by Alton Brown. They look great and I figured I could buy 1 knife every other month. Then I started reading about these Victorinox Swiss Army knives. All positive reviews and the cost is about 20% of the cost of the Shun knives. When I received this knife it is sharper than any knives I've had right out of the box. It is well balanced, light and does the work fabulously.Great buy, so if you're looking to replace or augment your knives don't be afraid to try these knives.
I love this knife and use it for everything. It cuts effortlessly through thick meat or vegetables. No hand pain at all. I bought this knife for my sons last Christmas and they agree it's there favorite knife! This knife was rated equal to ones priced at $300.00 and above.
