I wanted Vornado because I've used their fans before and they are powerful and quiet and last a long time. This one did not disappoint. It sits near a vent in an attic bedroom where there is no return. The fan gives a boost and circulates the air - especially for the A/C - throughout the room. Well worth the price.

Built to last

I use my Vornado fan in place of a ceiling fan, to move warm air down off the ceiling of my drafty old farmhouse and circulate it at the level where I actually live. I've bought these fans over the course of many years now because they stand up to the hard use they get at my house. Basically, I turn the fan on in the fall and run it continuously until spring. I use one big one out in the living room and another smaller one in the office/spare bedroom. I haven't found any other fan that can take this kind of use and keep on going. I'm also really impressed with the amount of air that Vornado fans move, and the way they concentrate that column of air to really move the heat around. Again, no other brand has performed as well for me. Hope Vornado can keep the quality up!

Cannot clean without breaking

Bought the fan because of circulation and quietness. Gave up trying to clean it properly because the grill wasn’t released after the clips were recessed. 2 years now and lizard gets into the fan and sticks to the fan blade. Now that the fan’s not quiet it’s time to try again. Release the 4 tabs, stick shims in as well. No joy, not budging. Pull and push harder while using the flathead screw driver for leverage and POP, off comes the housing with several hidden screws that snapped off. Time for another fan that is not designed for failure.

Good airflow, needs some updates

I bought this fan three years ago and have ran it basically ever night since I got it while sleeping. The medium setting is just perfect for personal use while sleeping or sitting somewhere in the house to cool off. The high setting has really good flow if you're trying to move some air around no more than a 15 x 15ft space. All in all it's performed very well.That said, it is very very difficult to take the front grill off to clean the thing. The three screws that need removed are very recessed and i was lucky that i have a small electronics screwdriver set, there's no way they can be taken out with a normal screwdriver. And then last week when starting the fan even on high it would catch and buzz and I couldn't get the thing to spin any more. I finally decided to disassemble it a bit to see if i could figure out what was going on. It turns out the motor is brush-less which is nice, but the two bearings inside either heated up too much or seized up and then continued to overheat as the shaft spun on the inner race because the greased leaked out of both of them and ran down the inside of the case. So this thing is a dud now, I might try to return it but it seems like quite a hassle.

Good except manual is incorrect for cleaning the fan.

I purchased this fan on 7/12/23. Loved it till this year when it started to be very noisy. Called the company and they said to clean it by removing the 3 screws in the the back. WHAT 3 SCREWS. THERE ARE NO SCREWS IN THE BACK JUST 4 CLIPS. What gives ??? Now I am stuck with a noisy fan that keeps us up at night because it is too noisy. Can someone help ?????????????? Took off two stars since the manual is incorrect and I don't know how to take the grill off. Lots of other customers complained about the same thing. Would have to think twice about buying another Vornado fan because of this.

Listen, many brands exist. However, for quiet operation, fpm of air per fan footprint, quality, distance, and longevity....I will choose Vornado over any other brand. I hate paying more. But in the end they pay for themselves. I have had Lasko, Ryobi, and any other brands. Most with 24/7 use die within 2 years or less and need to then be replaced. Not a Vornado. I gave away a brand new Lasko...paid $40. Size to FPM was enormous. Too much space used to get half the fpm half the distance. Paid I believe about $60 for this Vornado. Twice as quiet, twice the weight (due to quality of brushless motor, bearings, and hefty use of plastics), twice the fpm, twice the distance yet half the size. I love it

Noisy

Have owned the Vornado 633 for about 5 years. First I would say I WOULD NOT recommend purchasing this particular Vornado. The main reason being for the amount of air it pushes (CFM 398), it is way to noisy. Have stopped using this unit while watching TV or attempting to have conversations between rooms. Also, the price of the unit is way too high for such performance. For about the same price, a person can buy a Rowenta table fan that blows almost 5 xs more air than this particular Vornado and is extremely quit. What I like about Vornado is both there warranty and durability of there products. My other Vornado 733 broke and they were great in replacing it. Started out nice, but could be fire hazard

Turned the fan on one day and everything seemed fine. I started to smelling a burning plastic odor later and found that the blades had stopped turning, but the motor was still humming. If purchased three of these at the same time and now I’m afraid to use any of them. Super disappointed because these fans were a little pricey and are only about a year old at best. I reached out to Vornado by email and hopefully they will make this right.

recommend with reservations

I've had a number of fans over the years and the Vornado brand is my favorite. but they are not without problems. I've had two die after being left on the low speed setting for a day or two. My biggest complaint is that they are not designed to be taken apart, cleaned and oiled. After some time dust and debris get into the bushings and the fan stops or fails to start. with patience and a long screwdriver you can clean and oil, but without doing so the fan won't last a year. Even so I'm still a fan of Vornado.

way better than Dyson

Amazing product. I used Dyson but have gone through hard time during hot summer. I couldn’t sleep other than right below the AC. I couldn’t use my bed because Dyson doesn’t circulate at all. This one solved the problem within a minute. So amazing. I even felt a bit cold while staying right infront of this when outside was 35 celsius. If I could go back years ago, I would definitely buy 5 of this product instead of Dyson. I could have saved still several bucks even after buying five of this.
