First let me say the water pic works as it was designed to do.I’m sorry I picked this model. There is no pilot light to show the battery is charging. There is no pilot light that indicates the battery is fully charged or how much power is left in the battery. The unit has to be held vertically for the water to be pumped out. I don’t know anything about water flossing, but I think the motor is under powered. And lastly, the tank is too small which makes the run time very short. Competing brands have larger tanks and more features. I chose to go with a brand name and am regretting it. I have no choice but to use the Water-Pic until it dies because it was to expensive to throw out.

Because there is no battery charge light indicator, I thought this may be normal. The problem gradually worsened and now it wont hold a charge at all. I love the portable nature of the unit and it meets my needs, but I don't want to spend that much money on another one if it's going to die on me in such a short period of time. I expect at least 3 yrs out of it. My electric tooth brushes have lasted more than 5 yrs (only have to change heads)! Countertop version is better

I purchased this version because I liked that it was compact and was wireless. I was in between this or their countertop version. I was super disappointed by this model, there is only two pressure settings, both which are low. I think for being compact/travel like version and the cost you pay for it, it should come with a bag to store and a place to store the tools for it. It was frustrating because you have to refill the reservoir at least 3 times per use. There is no way to clean the reservoir either, it’s a small hole to fill with water and that’s it. Holding this is also awkward because of how bulky it is. With all that said, I did return this product and purchased the countertop version (Ultra) and it’s about the same price. I have never been successful with dental floss too harsh on my sensitive gums, or worrying about yanking a filling out when the tape gets stuck between my teeth. I have on the advice of my dentist tried the little brushes only for to them bend out of shape - utterly useless. A friend mentioned she has a water flosser and she was pleased with hers so I thought I would give this ago... I have never flossed so much in my life. This is brilliant, gets a lot of debris out of my teeth and my mouth feels so much cleaner. I use it on the sensitive setting and it works fine, just be sure to use warm water though especially if you have sensitive teeth. Charge it once a week (it comes with a three pin plug ) and just fill with water when you use it. So far I am happy with it and pleased that I can floss with out worry.

Kinda messy to use
17 August 2023

I went online and found some good videos on how to use this. A couple were by a dentist, and he started by advising, "Don't use it the way WaterPik shows you to use it." The way WaterPik recommends using this is AWFULLY MESSY. Expect to get soaked and to soak your sinktop. The way the dentist recommended is to keep your pips pursed around it, and then let all the water in your mouth go into your sink only when your mouth fills up. This is still messy, but a lot LESS messy than how WaterPik says to use it.I got this because my dentist recommended it, and said they were now feeling this is superior to flossing with floss. Not a problem, but I had no room to place a tank model on my sink.

Less Powerful
19 February 2023

This is the third hand held/portable WaterPik I've owned. over the last 8 years. I use it primarily to insure all food and debris are flushed from under my permanent upper implants. I consistently use it 1-2 times every day. My only complaint with my current purchase is that it seems to be less powerful from previous models with little discernible difference between the low and high settings. The reason for replacing my previous 2 WaterPik's was because the pressure slowly decreased to the point of being ineffective, they never stopped working. With the new one being less strong than the previous ones I suspect it will have a shorter life span. Time will tell.

Mine stopped working after 6 months
23 February 2022

At first I was delighted to pick up and use for the first time a Waterpik. I opted for the cordless version since I live in a very, very small space and my bathroom countertop space is very limited. Overall it seemed like a good device. One thing I noted and found unhelpful is that there is no indicator or gauge on the battery usage so you're just guessing at how long to plug in your Waterpik. At any rate, it took some time to get used to using the Waterpik. Be prepared to have a cleaning towel handy as water will spray everywhere if you're not careful. Make sure you have your face tilted towards the sink bowl & keep your mouth fairly closed. I started using it from once every few days, then daily. Then about two weeks ago the Waterpik stopped working. It just quit without any reason. I did an online search and there were suggestions to plug in and charge the whole unit overnight. That didn't work. And then I tried charging for a full 24 hours. And that still didn't work. Believe me, I patiently tried this a few times over during the last week. It's sad to say that I've wasted my time and money on this.

Pros & Cons

The first thing I noticed about this cordless /rechargeable waterpik was the lack of any charge indicator. I can't think of any other rechargeable appliance I have that doesn't have SOME type of charge indicator (most with color change, to indicate full charge). I find this lack to be problematic, since it leaves you to guess if there's an adequate charge for use. The water reservoir is removable, although I'm not sure why: if you try to fill the tank while separate from the unit, the water just flows out the back. The water pik functions well, and it's convenient not having the cord and hose to bother with (like the countertop units). The smaller (than countertop units) tank size does require a refill or two to do a complete job. I'm still on the initial charge, so ... MoreThe first thing I noticed about this cordless /rechargeable waterpik was the lack of any charge indicator. I own the Waterpik Cordless Advanced, and bought this Cordless Plus one to have in a different bathroom. The cordless plus is inferior in every way, and I wish I'd just spent a little more to get another "Advanced" model. Features of this model are listed, with features of the Advanced model in parentheses. -This charger requires a block and it's possible for water to get into the charger point on the unit (magnet charger is so much more convenient and there's no opening for water to get into) - This charger has only two speeds, both of which are a pretty strong stream and I don't know if even the lighter of the two is good for my gums - dentist said to hold it further away from gums, and water splashes everywhere (having three speeds, each noticeably different, is ... MoreI own the Waterpik Cordless Advanced, and bought this Cordless Plus one to have in a different bathroom. I routinely use the lowest strength, and end up going up in strength as the battery starts to fade, but at least I have the choice with this model) - Reservoir is insufficient given the strength of the stream...it takes me three fills to get through my whole mouth (If I'm doing a quick flossing, on the lowest speed (which is what I routinely use), I can get through my mouth with one reservoir full. For a more thorough job, I have to refill in the middle) - Power switch is a slider...not easy to do with one hand as you're holding the flosser (power switch is push on-push off, which is super easy to do with one hand) - Reservoir has just one small opening, so it's nearly impossible to completely empty and dry out the reservoir between uses (reservoir has the small opening like the other model, but then it also has a large opening on the top, so you can turn it upside down to drain fully between uses - Release button for reservoir is awkward to use (release button is super easy to use) - Battery goes from running to off with little, to no, warning (as battery starts to get weak, water stream declines slightly, so you know when it's almost time to charge it. It declines over several uses, so there's plenty of notice for charging. - No indicator light about battery strength (light starts to flash when battery is getting low. When it starts to flash, I still have 2-3-4 uses before the battery dies completely)

I bought this when my son got braces. the first one started leaking from the reservoir (no we did not store water in it between uses.) it would leak out after we would fill it and the counter would be covered in water. we got a replacement cause it was still under warrenty. now this one is doing the same exact thing! I'm not very impressed with it either. it is supposed to be better than flossing right? then why isn't it getting all the food out of his braces? it barely does anything when he uses it so we have to use oral b superfloss and it's always a fight cause it takes me 30 minutes to floss between each of my 12 year old's teeth due to the braces. I'm not sure if this is a common issue with the cordless or what. but I paid $60 for this and it should work better ... MoreI bought this when my son got braces. the first one started leaking from the reservoir (no we did not store water in it between uses.) it would leak out after we would fill it and the counter would be covered in water. we got a replacement cause it was still under warrenty. now this one is doing the same exact thing!
