We specifically got the baby q because of its compact size. The hotplate is a great accompaniment its big enough to hold about 8-10 sausages also easy to take off and wash over the sink. Because its built for the baby q its not too heavy and fits in the kitchen sink.

The plate is great for my sons BBQ he’s not used it yet as he is moving into his own place soon. As a vegetarian it’s a must. Which is why I purchased it. Until now the bbq has had little use as it’s been in storage for a few years. Mind you his sister and hubby borrowed it fir a camping trip and it’s absolutely perfect as they are vegetarians as well.
I didn't realize that the griddle covered only half of the grill surface, but I now understand that it would cut of too much oxygen if it was larger. I've used it for fish, sliced squash and it's the perfect surface for resting a rectangular pizza using a pre-made pizza shell to keep it from burning over the direct flame. I have to be careful about placement. If too close the sides, the top won't close. Might be better if the raised perimeter was slightly higher to contain juices or small pieces.
The half plate is probably the most useful accessory for the baby Q. I have this in place of one grills full time. It allows you to cook liquid items such as pancakes and eggs while having the grill free to cook other delights such as bacon and asparagus.
This little griddle is money. Can slap six slices of bacon on it and have a decent morning. The extra grease goes through the slots and rolls down the side without trashing your BBQ. Clever design. Frying three or four eggs after the bacon is effortless. I’ll probably do it again tomorrow. The only problem with this griddle is the punishment it lays on my six-pack.
We are a little disappointed with this purchase as we aren’t able to purchase the other half of this through bcf. Weren’t advised this at the time of purchase. With the Baby Q you need half flat which we got and half with the griddle which was told later that you don’t sell.
Used it for the first time today, I am extremely pleased with it. It cooked perfect Sausages & Halloumi with no sticking evenly all the way through. Would highly recommend this as a fantastic bbq addition.
I like the griddle, but the surface still needs a bit of conditioning. My only real beef with Weber is that I bought 2 griddles to cover the entire surface and was not warned that I would extinguish the flame by putting 2 griddle surfaces on the BBQ. I guess I have a backup.
