I was lookjng for a plain, ordinary "crayon box" orange. This is more yellow than that but I prefer it anyway.
I’m very happy with Winsor&Newtonpaints for my water colouring. The colours are lovely and reliable .
This is a clear bright yellow made with pigment PY150 when mixed with burnt sienna PR101 it makes a quinacridone gold to die for. Mix with brown madder, delicious and makes bright greens when mixed with blues. It also is a bright glowing rich yellow on its own!
The pigment in this paint is beautiful. It mixes easily and moves and blends so well, especially using wet on wet techniques. The results look phenomenal. Next time I’ll buy the larger size as it’s more economical. I see no reason to test out other brands. The Windsor and Newton professional range is as good as it gets.
Great savings to be made on these W+amp;N Artists' Quality paints. I have bought lots of these from Crafty Arts now, and they've all been fine. Some (not all) are obviously older stock but the paints are totally usable.
W&N Quin magenta is my go to for peonies. It’s a beautiful magenta that favours the pinky side rather than the deeper burgundy ones… I love it
