Suitable Product. I used this product for the first time yesterday to make a meat bolognese sauce. I normally use a well known brand (sachets also) and never deviate from it, so this was a good opportunity to try a different (cheaper) one. I will compare the two - both are made in Australia, my usual from 100% Austrralian ingredients and Safeway brand 99%; my usual brand only contains 98% concentrated tomato & salt and Safeway brand has same amount of tomato paste, acidity regulator (citric acid) & salt. My usual brand has slightly more salt (90mg) & sugar (. 9g) levels per 100g, which may be important for some people. Other nutritional differences are negible and less important to me. As far as taste the above product has a less intense flavour and appearance in colour when added to meat. But this could be the quality of the tomatoes used in production at the time. I found it OK to be not as intense. I still used the same quantity as my usual brand. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to purchase product. There is only a 30c difference in price between the well known brand sachets and this product so I wouldn't change on price alone.

Super saver. Not only does this product save money through its economical price tag, but it also saves money on wastage. As someone who frequently leaves opened jars of tomato paste in the fridge until they grow fur on top, these portions are very much appreciated. I used a sachet in our homemade sugo (slow cooked pasta sauce) which added to its richness and depth. Whilst it is high in sugar and salt content, it needs to be to produce the flavour that it does. The quality and price tag has won me over and these will be a regular staple in our food shop from now on.

Deliscious Balanced flavour. Flavour profile: tomatoey without the acidity. Very balanced rich flavour unlike other tomato pastes on the market. Easy to use portion size which stays fresher for longer especially, if you don't routinely use tomato paste in your cuisine. So far I am using one sachet for tomato cheese oregano toasties. I've made 3 so far and the sachet is still going. Decent portion size. Would recommend.

To expensive for the convenience. This is convenience at its best. Woollies tomato paste packaged like this in small foil sachets costs $1 per 100g. This same brand in the jar is. 25c per 100g. Im happy with the jar packaging, I top it will a little oil to cover the surface of the paste and it keeps well in the fridge. Just remember to only ever use a clean spoon and don't double dip so as not to introduce bacteria and you should be right. I can definitely see the benefits of the sachets in some instances as well.
Aussie and as good as more expensive brands. I love this tomato paste so much I have started having it on toast every morning. I like it better than some other brands as it is a strong tomato flavour without being too intense. One sachet covers 4 slices of toast nicely so there is no waste. I love that it is Australian tomatoes too. I will continue to buy this product.
No more tomato paste waste! I use tomato paste in so many recipes, like tonight when I made bolognese filled zucchini boats. I've tried most brands on the market and the taste of Woolies Australian tomato paste sachets is on par with the more expensive brands. The 50g sachets are the right amount for most recipes and add rich flavour to dishesThe individual sachets reduce waste. I would usually open a jar and put the remainder in the fridge. Before the next use it would be mouldy - yuk! It's made in Aus using at least 99% of Australian ingredients. A recipe suggestion comes on the packaging - so handy!Individual sachets are great for camping and travelWould I purchase it again ? - Absolutely!
Ticks all the boxes ✅. The Concentrated Tomato Paste ticked all the boxes for my family and I. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. Made in Australia from 99% Australian ingredients. A great addition to the Essentials chunky pasta sauce and canned tomatoes when making spaghetti bolognese. I used a 50g satchet to a large homemade pizza base. The $2 price for 4 x 50g sachets is very reasonable. This product is so versatile. The addition to many recipes adds colour and flavour. The portion size sachets are perfect no wastage. I would definitely buy this product.
Great quality. I couldn't tell the difference between this and the branded product. On the ingredient list this product contains Food Acid (Citric Acid), as opposed to the branded product that does not. The branded product's description:- No artificial colours or flavours- No added preservatives- Individually foil sealed for freshness Woolworths Tomato Paste description:- 4 Easy open foil sachets. - No artificial preservatives. - No artificial colour or flavours. I would be more inclined to purchase the product without any preservatives. The box listed useful information on the front, however the branded product mentions 1 sachet equals 2 tablespoons, I think this is relevant and necessary information that would be incredibly useful listed with the other info.
Convenient Single Portion Aussie Tomato Paste. This product solves a common problem I was having with tomato paste. That problem being that I don't have a great deal of recipes that use tomato paste and I was finding that even the smallest tub of tomato paste would start to go mouldy by the time I could use it all. This product solves this problem by including four individually wrapped sachets that are perfect for a standard size pizza base as pictured. The product itself was full of flavour, great texture and was made from 100% Aussie tomatoes . Will be adding to my shopping list next time I need tomato paste!
Rich and lovely intense tomato flavour. I've been buying this product for a long time now which I use in soups, casserole dishes, pasta sauces & even use as a pizza base. I really like the 4 sachets of concentrated tomato paste as depending on my dish I can use 1 or 2 of them. Each sachet is a super concentrated boost of tomato flavour to add extra loveliness & depth to your dish to make it extra tasty with a tomato richness. With 4 sachets in the pack at a price point of $2 it's priced well. The lovely richness of the velvety tomato melts away in your cooking to add the perfect tomato taste to take it to another level. I really enjoy cooking with these as they give a rich and lovely intense tomato flavour. I would also like to ask for perhaps a salt reduced version ... MoreRich and lovely intense tomato flavour.
