Boundless Maroon is not a shade of lipstick that I would normally wear. While I don't think the shade is a bad match for my skin tone, I do feel since it's such a dark shade it washes me out. On the bright side, it makes my teeth look super white! If I'd chosen my own shade I would have gone with a light soft pink like 303 rose incitement or a beige nude like 301 nude pulsion. I did find that despite the claims, this shade tended to bleed and wander outside of my lip line. With the square bullet design and creamy formula it is easy to apply, but as with any deeper shade of lipstick it's a good idea to wear a lip liner. I also noticed that after wearing this lipstick for a while my lips were stained. The staining was an orange shade that looked like I had been eating pasta sauce and gotten it all over my lips...not a good look 😳 As always the Yves Saint Laurent packaging is beautiful and very lux feeling. The formula is smooth and creamy and comfortable to wear. I'm thankful to be gifted things for consideration, but in this case, it's kind of a waste since I'm not likely to wear this lipstick very often if ever again. 💄

This very unique lipstick is absolutely gorgeous the way it looks the way it is applied with such precision because of the angles the square shape gives you the ability to contour your lips very accurately. It also has the velvety yet very moisturising feel to it without drying your lips and you’re being extremely pigmented and so rich with colour and stays on your lips very well without bleeding and makes you feel as your lips are very luxurious and very expensive. I was also surprised that this particular lipstick had a scent a very pleasant fruity or berry light not overpowering scent and I guess taste as well as you applied it on your lips. Some stupid men that never wore lipstick I bet. Case, especially lid feels flimsy and cheap, it's all plastic. I recommend applying it with a small detailer brush instead of winging the square bullet. Either way, it transfers A LOT. You might wanna blot-powder-reapply before going on your merry way. I don't notice any scent as others say, but I can smell it if I look for it - it is sweet and not offensive or strong. The name Limitless Cinnabar (314) is not what I would have guessed for this shade. I am admittedly not usually a matte lip gal, but I think this is just about the best quality matte lipstick if that is what you are looking for. The pigment is excellent and application is so smooth. It does not dry out my lips the way some other matte lips do. The texture is more silicone-y, like it sits on top of my lips instead of clinging to them. It is not quite as drying as my Lisa Eldridge True Velvet lipstick. As with all matte lips, I would still encourage exfoliation before use to ensure a smooth application.It is not transfer proof (and doesn’t claim to be), but it lasted through an oily salad dressing lunch on me without touch ups. This is a balm not a lipstick

Where do I start...I received shade 315 - boundless maroon. It definitely pulls brown and not maroon, so the shade name is very confusing to me. The formula is very comfortable and moisturizing, so that's a positive, but unfortunately pretty much the only one. Having said that, it feels and wears more like a pigmented lip balm instead of a lipstick. For a balm, I agree it's very pigmented. For a lipstick, not so much. It goes on a little patchy for me and I have to make several passes in order to build the color. Again, at least on me, this wears like a balm so the staying power is pretty non-existent. Lastly, I absolutely HATE the shape of this lipstick!!! I have very thin lips and it is impossible to apply this neatly or precisely.
