Love learning to use sous vide! One observation regarding egg bites recipe: Ball jelly jars are made to withstand a 90 degree sudden temperature change. So if your jars are even slightly below room temperature, and you submerge them into 172 degree bath, they break. (Learned the hard way) The solution is to submerge them into hot tap water (135 degrees) and then let the heater gradually heat up to 172.

This device is enough for 2-3 people meals. Perfect for myself in 2 person family.Plasticy, but its expected as its the cheapest version - not a minus tbh, the function is what matters.Noise it gives out is rather annoying to be honest. It wont bother you if you have a seperate kitchen, but it might be a problem if you have a studio apartment. Does not bother my girlfriend, but for me it’s close to unbearable. Forces me to have music in the background just to cut out the medium high pitch sound.Would almost give it 3 stars for overall product, but the main functions are done well and food it helps produce is amazing.
The cooker works great except for push notifications, which dont seem to work on iPhone?
It makes a grinding noise the whole time it runs. It's not excessively loud, but it is noticeable throughout the kitchen (we've had 2 previous sous vides and they were both silent). Without the noise I'd give it 4 or 5 stars.It's very compact, which is great, but that means it doesn't reach down very far in the Sous Vide container, so the waterline needs to be very high relative to previous units I've had. It will struggle to heat up a large water bath (but it's only 750W so that's understandable).
Fantastic. Use it twice a day almost every day. Best way to cook beef and chicken, have recently started experimenting with poached eggs.
It works really well and have been very helpful. I have 2 negative points tho:- It's very annoying to have it on for a long time in our kitchen. It's not that loud, but certainly a lot louder than I'd like for the amount of time it needs to stay on;- I wish there were more functionalities on the app. Basic things like showing the time it finishes would be great.
We are loving our Anova. We are making yogurts that address specific issues: insomnia; weight loss/gain; mood etc. Later we plan to prepare meals with it.
Have tried it for creme brulee, onsen eggs and beef steaks. It's great for small batch sous vide.
