Amazing and solid performance by this ssd. I'm getting 6500MBPS+ to read & write speeds on my PS5. You get exactly what you pay for with this ssd. It has a capacity of 2 terabytes and comes available with 2 terabytes to use. So its worth every penny. The heatsink keeps it running smoothly with no issues whatsoever. I would buy this again and again.

The drive is fast enough that it provides as good or better performance than the built-in drive, and it expanded the total available storage from 800GB (about 625 usable) to 2,800. Internal drives can hold both PS5 and PS4 games, and you can play them straight from the disk as if it were part of the console, because it kind of is. External drives can be used to store whatever games you like, but PS5 games have to be transferred to an internal drive before you can play them. It's not a huge hassle, USB 3.0 data transfer speeds are pretty quick, but it does mean a bit of juggling.

Installed and formatted in under 5 minutes. Moved over 350+ GB's also in under 5 minutes. A true 2TB available for storage as total cap shows 2.1. So far games are running crispy, and loading fast and smooth. No complaints. This is truly a must have upgrade. At least 1Tb, but I'm glad I went with the 2. Now I'd like to look into a cooling device as this particular drive runs a bit hot, and for the price of these drives, I'd like to protect it as best I can. Buy it!! This is a great deal at B&H at 180 too. Average price is anywhere from 220-250 at most other sites. Can't recommend the WD_BLACK SN850X enough! Pay attention when shopping too, the X is the newer and slightly faster version than the standard SN850.

I bought this for my PS5 to enhance my overall gaming experience and it exceeded my expectations. Very easy to install on the ssd slot and to set up once you boot up the PS5. Best buy even price matched it when I found out a lower price a few days after I bought it. So happy with this purchase and very worth it. I would even rate it 6 stars out of 5 if can.
Guaranteed to work and it does. Simple to install. I know it can be nerve racking tacking your ps5 panel off but trust me, it’s simple. And this thing worked, plug and play literally lol. Now I have plenty of room and speeds are great. I know it’s a bit of a premium but it’s price of mind knowing that you don’t have to worry about it not being the right pcie or anything.
Works as expected in a PS5. The 850x exceeds the read/write speeds required in the console but it's nice to have for quicker disc installs and transferring data from internal to external storage. I would recommend this again. I'm sure that Samsung's drive and others are just as good but went with this one because when external storage option became available through an update the Sony the lead architect recommended the WD 850 series.
