It's an okay food. I bought it because it is really tiny bites which is perfect for my 4lb chihuahua. I was looking for something with high protien without alot of fillers, this has more than I thought. It's alright and will continue using it until I find a better replacement food. Any suggestions would be appreciated. He has skin problems so I supplement food with fish oil, with contaminated removed of coarse, that's something to watch for. My dog really likes the flavor of this food, he gobbles it down.

My little senior dog loves this dog food, the delicious chicken flavor is packed into a tiny kibble for small dogs that prefer variety and easily digestible ingredients help support their energy levels. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a dog food made with natural ingredients containing minerals for immune system support as well as heart and kidney health. Go ahead and try it…your pooch will love it too!

This is the only brand of dog food that doesn’t upset my Pitbulls stomach. Plus she absolutely loves it! I can even give her individual kibble pieces as treats because she loves it that much. However, I personally think that the guide for how much food you should give your dog per day is very inaccurate. It says to give my 45lb Pitbull 2x the amount of food than what the vet said to give her. If I gave her the amount of food the bag suggested, she would be so overweight. I’ve been purchasing this brand of dog food for over two years now. Picture of my doggy just because she’s cute

Awesome Food
25 January 2023

My Chihuahua when she was little had to be put on prescription can dog food. Her tummy problems were terrible. She was throwing up terribly, also. The vet and I had to try her on ALL kinds of food. This is the only food that she has no problems with. We didn't think we was going to ever find a type or brand of dog food she could eat. She is going on 14 now, but the vet and me don't dare change her food. The vet said we was not messing with what works. The other doggos in the home love it, too! Also, it is an excellent food for my English Bulldogs. Their skin and coats look amazing. Well, I had 2 English Bulldogs, but I recently lost my 13 & a half year old Georgia Belle. So, now I am down to 3 doggos. I have used this food for about 14 years now.

Changed kibble size & added ingredients
20 November 2019

Been using the 7+ formula for year. My 65# Lab has had NO issues with it. Bought new bag and noticed that kibble size was half the size it normally was. Each piece used to be about the size of a marble, now they are flat discs . Thought they accidentally put "bite size" into the regular bag. Had used up the old bag so had to start feeding her this. After 3 days her stomach was all messed up-major gas & diarrhea. She doesn't chew these as much as she chewed the old kibble. they are too small. Called Science Diet, they told me that YES they changed the kibble size and they ALSO ADDED INGREDIENTS (brewers yeast & soy) to the formula that weren't there before. NO where on the package does it indicate a change was made or formula "improved". Very disappointed. if package ... MoreBeen using the 7+ formula for year. My 65# Lab has had NO issues with it. If your dog has issue with the new formula, please call them and report it! While they offered me coupons, they don't feel they need to alert consumers of changes to their products on the packaging. Would have bought it still, but dog wouldn't be suffering as much.

Food not liked by 13y old 64lb Bella
8 January 2022

Hill’s Adult 7+ Chicken Meal, Barley&Brown Rice Recipe Dry Dog Food, veterinarian-recommended for our old but healthy dog lady Bella, a mix of German Shepard and Husky, was not appreciated, As others wrote, she would only eat it if she didn’t get anything else, often skipping a meal, so I had to cancel the repeat delivery. By mistake I bought Hills puppy food instead. She loves it and always gobbles it up in no time. The daily amount of food is on the low side of Hill’s recommendation and Bella’s weight very stable. In addition to dry food we feed a bit of our cereal breakfast (bran and various fruits) and Dasuquin w/ MSM.Comments/ recommendations appreciated.

High quality, consistent
22 September 2021

Our dog has an auto-immune disorder -- that's why his nose has no pigment, in the picture -- and is quite sensitive to the ingredients in most dog foods. His vet recommended sticking with a brand that is known for consistently high quality, and named Hill's Science Diet, specifically. We gradually switched him over to this dry food, along with a mix of the same brand for wet food (the "stew" versions) and the gas, bloating and runny bowel movements immediately cleared up. Definitely recommended, especially for dogs that have digestive issues.

My dog likes Science Diet plus 7
17 September 2022

I was feeding my dog B Buffalo. He gained weight. After yearly Vet visit, my dog was overweight. My vet suggested a few brands. Science Diet plus 7 was one. Feeding him the same amount, his weight came down and is steady (around 62 lbs). I’m happy with the results, dog loves the food, what’s not to like!

Oshie's Favorite!
30 April 2021

We currently have a 7 month old puppy at home, and when I tell you it's been a real struggle to get him to eat on a schedule, it's an understatement. When we first brought him home we started on Baby Blue and after our first vet appointment we switched him to Royal Canin Medium Puppy and he would eat that, but it was still a struggle (It was a lot of hand feeding). About 2 months ago our vet recommended us to start switching him to adult food, and there were 3 brands she recommended, we started with the Pro Plan (my family has a lot of dogs around so thought it might be good to do the same food as others) he would NOT eat it. So I passed that along to my sister-in-law to finish that bag. So finally, we ended up with the Hill's Science Diet Adult (1-6) Chicken and Barley and at least with this past week we have NOT had any issues with him wanting to eat. He will finish his entire bowl when it's given to him!! We've had solid bathroom breaks with no issues. I couldn't be happier! My only wish was there were more flavors with the regular adult food.

Unsatisfied. Not a replacement to Advance Fitness as claimed
10 February 2020

Not satisfied with new changes or "improvements" made to the food. AT ALL. I have used Science Diet brand food for three years. My dog loves it and will not eat anything else, until RECENTLY, when the company made CHANGES. I have a 4 yr old pit mix and we have always preferred the Science Diet Advanced Fitness food with Chicken & Barley flavor. Recently, the company changed their packaging of food, name of the food, and the shape of the food. They claim that the food is the same flavor. HOWEVER, I was recently told that the Advanced Fitness dog food was renamed/rebranded to Hill's Science Diet Adult 1-6 dog food. Yes, the food is a different shaped as stated, BUT, it does not seem to be the same flavor, even though it says otherwise on the package. Yes, the food is a different shaped as stated, BUT, it does not seem to be the same flavor, even though it says otherwise on the package. It is a different color/smell as well. My dog refuses to eat it. I've noticed my cat now tries to eat it so the flavor has to had change.. The cat never wanted to touch the dog's food before. We've transitioned her food by mixing the old with it and she still won't eat it. I am very unhappy with their new marketing, for food purposes. I understand about new packaging but there is no reason to change certain things with the food itself. I have friends who are having this same problem and it's very frustrating. The food is great quality and I wish they still had the same food. We're currently looking at other brands of food for our dog but it shouldn't need to come to this. Will be calling the company personally tomorrow to figure out if there's another food they have that is somewhat comparable to her Hill's Science Diet Advanced Fitness. If anything changes, I will edit my review.
