This is the only brand of dog food that doesn’t upset my Pitbulls stomach. Plus she absolutely loves it! I can even give her individual kibble pieces as treats because she loves it that much. However, I personally think that the guide for how much food you should give your dog per day is very inaccurate. It says to give my 45lb Pitbull 2x the amount of food than what the vet said to give her. If I gave her the amount of food the bag suggested, she would be so overweight. I’ve been purchasing this brand of dog food for over two years now. Picture of my doggy just because she’s cute

I have two Boston terriers. One of which has very sensitive issues when it comes to dog food. It would literally be months before I was able to find a dog food that he would eat without vomiting. It honestly became part of my daily routine to clean vomit up 20 to 30 minutes after “Wesley“ ate. My vet recommended many many dog foods and all to the same avail, vomiting 20 minutes after he ate. I then decided to take my own route and try science diet. To say the least it has been the answer to my questions my problems and everything else that goes along with owning a dog with sensitive stomach issues. I definitely recommend this to anyone who has a dog with sensitive stomach issues. I went from the puppy food and now to the dog food. Never an issue with science diet ... MoreI have two Boston terriers. One of which has very sensitive issues when it comes to dog food. My Chihuahua when she was little had to be put on prescription can dog food. Her tummy problems were terrible. She was throwing up terribly, also. The vet and I had to try her on ALL kinds of food. This is the only food that she has no problems with. We didn't think we was going to ever find a type or brand of dog food she could eat. She is going on 14 now, but the vet and me don't dare change her food. The vet said we was not messing with what works. The other doggos in the home love it, too! Also, it is an excellent food for my English Bulldogs. Their skin and coats look amazing. Well, I had 2 English Bulldogs, but I recently lost my 13 & a half year old Georgia Belle. So, now I am down to 3 doggos. I have used this food for about 14 years now.

At my last appointment, my veterinarian shared with me the possible effects of a grain-free diet that I had my dog on, due to a sensitive stomach when I first brought him home. I asked "if this was your dog, what would you feed him?" She gave me two names, one of which was Hills. I switched 2 years ago and have even tried different flavors (including weight management because my boy Maximus is an American Eskimo dog and they have a tendency to gain weight quickly...not that the daily Greenie and table scraps helps any!)I will say when I brought this specific flavor home, he was over-the-moon. Definitely going to keep this flavor in rotation! Oh, and he has zero regurgitation issues with this brand!
I have tried many, many other brand name dog food (ie. Wellness Core, Arcana, Merricks, Halo, etc) that either gave him diarrhea, itchy skin, made him throw up, or poor quality packaged where I found cobwebs and moths bugs(??) inside the top of the bag! My dog has digestive problems and I've been hunting for most of his life for something that worked for him. This is it. The bag is thick, also completely sealed very well and they provide a "velcro top" that I like. My dog is a 90 pound Mixed Pit w/Boxer, Sharpei, Ridgeback and Jack Russell and is 10-1/2 yrs old. The omega3 made his fur noticeably soft.
We have been rescuing dogs for years now. Most of the dogs have come to us is less than good health. After some time with a consistent diet of Hills Science Diet, their fur has transformed and is shiny and thick, their energy is up and they are different dogs than they were. We’ve adopted hospice dogs that we’re predicted to live a couple of months, at best, that have perked up and lived two years or longer. We’re convinced it’s from a good diet and lots of love. There’s no reason for us to use any other product. We’ll stick with what works.
My 11 year old Lab seems to enjoy the Hill's Science Diet Adult 6+ Large Breed Chicken Meal, Barley & Rice Dry Dog Food. I like the fact that it is catered to senior, large-breed dogs like her and has glucosamine and chondroitin for joint support. She’s severely arthritic so this is very important to me. It’s also a fair price. She is 70 lbs. and very inactive (major couch potato) and I did notice she was gaining weight on the recommended 3 1/2 cups serving; I cut her serving size down to 3 cups hoping this will help.
We currently have a 7 month old puppy at home, and when I tell you it's been a real struggle to get him to eat on a schedule, it's an understatement. When we first brought him home we started on Baby Blue and after our first vet appointment we switched him to Royal Canin Medium Puppy and he would eat that, but it was still a struggle (It was a lot of hand feeding). About 2 months ago our vet recommended us to start switching him to adult food, and there were 3 brands she recommended, we started with the Pro Plan (my family has a lot of dogs around so thought it might be good to do the same food as others) he would NOT eat it. So I passed that along to my sister-in-law to finish that bag. So finally, we ended up with the Hill's Science Diet Adult (1-6) Chicken and Barley and at least with this past week we have NOT had any issues with him wanting to eat. He will finish his entire bowl when it's given to him!! We've had solid bathroom breaks with no issues. I couldn't be happier! My only wish was there were more flavors with the regular adult food.
While feeding a grocery store dog food my dog developed a heart condition and had to take him to several veterinarians and was told that he had heart failure and could die at any moment, one suggested that he should be on a better dog food so I went to Tractor Supply and bought Hills science diet small bites even though I have a big dog he prefers smaller bites. That was 2 years ago and I can not believe it neither can the veterinarians. The lesson here is feed good quality food like Hills science diet! grocery store food doesn’t have the same nutrients and is like eating fast food all the time.
Not satisfied with new changes or "improvements" made to the food. AT ALL. I have used Science Diet brand food for three years. My dog loves it and will not eat anything else, until RECENTLY, when the company made CHANGES. I have a 4 yr old pit mix and we have always preferred the Science Diet Advanced Fitness food with Chicken & Barley flavor. Recently, the company changed their packaging of food, name of the food, and the shape of the food. They claim that the food is the same flavor. HOWEVER, I was recently told that the Advanced Fitness dog food was renamed/rebranded to Hill's Science Diet Adult 1-6 dog food. Yes, the food is a different shaped as stated, BUT, it does not seem to be the same flavor, even though it says otherwise on the package. Yes, the food is a different shaped as stated, BUT, it does not seem to be the same flavor, even though it says otherwise on the package. It is a different color/smell as well. My dog refuses to eat it. I've noticed my cat now tries to eat it so the flavor has to had change.. The cat never wanted to touch the dog's food before. We've transitioned her food by mixing the old with it and she still won't eat it. I am very unhappy with their new marketing, for food purposes. I understand about new packaging but there is no reason to change certain things with the food itself. I have friends who are having this same problem and it's very frustrating. The food is great quality and I wish they still had the same food. We're currently looking at other brands of food for our dog but it shouldn't need to come to this. Will be calling the company personally tomorrow to figure out if there's another food they have that is somewhat comparable to her Hill's Science Diet Advanced Fitness. If anything changes, I will edit my review.
