It is sleek and minimalist and has a large loading capacity. The power cord is somewhat short so without a kitchen island, many users may have to use this on their regular counters beneath their cabinetry. I could see this potentially causing damage to woodwork over a long period of time as a large cloud of steam came out of the lid during the sterilization process. However, this product is sleek enough to plug in and use anywhere in the house! After set up, the run-time was a very reasonable 60 minutes which was indicated by a LED progress sensor on the power button. You couldn't plan by the minute using the progress sensor but it was helpful to let me know the process had begun, was half way done, etc. The machine was also pretty quiet which could be very important if my daughter had been napping nearby.By the end of the cycle, I did notice that some of my bottles were not entirely dry and still had condensation inside of them. Perhaps I could try putting less water in the base but then I'd be worried about not generating enough steam to sterilize. The lids, nipples, and pacifiers were all completely dry in the top portion.I love the way this machine looks, how quickly it completes its cycle, how many items it can handle at once, and how easy it is to use. To get 5 stars, however, I would need the unit to be able to consistently and thoroughly dry my items so that they could be put away immediately after. Having to leave my bottles on the counter overnight to ensure they dry almost defeats the purpose of the dryer. Overall, this sterilizer is a time saver and I would recommend it to other new moms!

It is just so convenient! It also brings peace of mind that the items have definitely been sterilised properly.Overall this is a fantastic steriliser, if gives you peace of mind, id drys your bottles which saves so much faff and fiddling, it's modern and sleek and would look good in any kitchen, and it has the convenience of being able to sterilise multiple bottles in one go making them usable for 24 hours. I absolutely would recommend this to any busy parent and wouldn't use anything other than this myself now.

For context, we also use a Philips Avent Sterilizer (without drying feature) as well as a different Sterilizer & Dryer.Pros:-This unit is incredibly stylish, with nice clean lines and more modern look to it compared to our other Philips unit. The white and greyscale with simple knob and button will fit in with any décor, and doesn’t scream ‘baby item!’ like others do with their color schemes.-The one-button operation is a LIFESAVER. When your hands are full w/baby, having the knob on ‘auto’ with one touch to turn it on to run a full cycle, is fantastic. Trust me, turning a very resistant knob to get it to turn on while holding a fussy child is nobody’s idea of a good time.-It holds a TON. That’s one thing Philips did right from the upgrades to add the dryer from our other model. We always used the lower and upper basket together and could fit a very full 6 bottle + 4 breast pump + accessories combined with room to spare.Cons:-We never found the system got our items totally dry. I’m not sure the run-time is long enough on the drying cycle or maybe our unit didn’t heat up enough to dry. The lid is also a challenge, in it’s desire to be stylish it’s concave with only two small vents, so water condenses there and drips back down onto the things in the basket. This may be due to our humidity or other factors, so your mileage may vary.-The lower basket has two ‘buckets’ that collect water after a sterilization cycle. I didn’t notice it until I went to clean it one day and water spilled out. After removing the lower bottle holder, I realized that after a few cycles, water builds up there and could easily harbor bacteria, etc. This is not something that was a part of our other Philips model and is a step backwards.Overall:-We like the unit, and would purchase it again for ease of use, but are cognizant of the area that collects water in the lower basket needing regular cleaning, and have simply gotten into the habit of running a second drying cycle to make sure everything is totally dry.

HUGE footprint, effectively cleans
16 February 2021

Through the generosity of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I was gifted this sterilizer at no cost to me. I've been waiting on posting a review as I was hopeful that my feelings towards the device may change over time, however the pros and the cons are quite similar still and thus I can't really give it a net win or loss, so I rated it a 3.Let me begin by mentioning that this unit is HUGE. Like barely fits under my cabinets in a 14-ft ceiling kitchen (i.e., high cabinets) big. Like barely fits under my cabinets in a 14-ft ceiling kitchen (i.e., high cabinets) big. I actually really like the modern, simplistic look of the sterilizer but the fact that it is so large is really a detriment. It's truly the first thing you see in the kitchen when it's out and it takes up valuable counter space in an otherwise clean and uncluttered kitchen. It's also a bit cumbersome to store as it doesn't fit in any cabinet or our lazy susan without disassembling it and tucking away. It's not challenging but just another thing to take care of, shuffling it in and out of storage, when not using it.That said, aside from the footprint of the sterilizer, I do really like the effective cleaning it provides and I'm confident that what's going in my daughter's mouth is sterile , dry, and hygienic. The settings are very intuitive and easy to figure out and the cleaning/drying cycle of ~40 minutes seems just about right -- not too slow or too quick (where you wouldn't necessarily believe all the germs were killed). As mentioned, the look of the unit is modern and nice, but it's just the giant size I can't get over. I also had a bit of trouble with the instructions, initially trying to determine which piece did what and where to stack them, as the manual doesn't really have written words, just pictures and emblems pointing out which part to put where. Once I figured it out, it was really simple to use but that was a pit of an annoying pain point when opening it up.Back to the size of the unit (clearly a sticking point here!). I think if it were a 'normal' year and I had my daughter in full time daycare 5 days a week with 5 bottles a day that needed to be thoroughly washed each night and dried, I would like be able to look past the size of the unit because it truly would be used each and every day, with flying colors, for this purpose. The amount of space for things to sterilize is just wonderful for those who need it, but it's just not for our purposes at the moment. We throw a few of her teething toys and her pacis in there as well, along with some of my older sons water bottle parts and a baby bottle or two, but as we're not going through 5+ bottles a day currently, I find myself going back to the trusty dishwasher basket for most of our small-piece sterilizing needs.I really was so excited to love this product, and I'll admit that it functions just as expected - I just can't rate it high or low based on the stalemate of my pros/cons.

This sterilizer definitely has some pros and cons.First off, let me say I owned a different sterilizer &dryer prior to getting this one. So i had some experience with what I liked and didn't like from my first one.We also exclusively pump and bottle feed baby. So we go through a lot of pump parts and bottles in a day. We also use this for her pacifiers, teething rings, etc.Design: The colors and shape of the sterilizer is great. We loved the design of this one over our other sterilizer and some of the other sterilizers we had seen."Baskets": The size of the baskets is also great, they were much taller than the other brand one I have, which made it so much nicer for sterilizing some of the awkward pieces. We loved the design of this one over our other sterilizer and some of the other sterilizers we had seen."Baskets": The size of the baskets is also great, they were much taller than the other brand one I have, which made it so much nicer for sterilizing some of the awkward pieces. I found I could fit way more in the upper basket than the upper basket of the other brand, but with the bottom larger basket I wish it had more venting holes and larger "pegs" to hold bottles. I found that our bottles for pumping and bottle feeding baby weren't supported very well in the bottom basket compared to our other sterilizer. I actually stopped putting our glass bottles in this sterilizer as I was worried they would topple over when moving the sterilizer.Sterilizing and drying cycle: OK. I dont know if it is just me, but this sterilizer and dryer doesn't fully dry my items very well.. which doesn't exactly make it a very sterile environment. I've found that after the sterilize and dry setting has ran through both baskets have condensation inside them, my bottles that are upside down on the pegs to allow them to dry fully have water droplets inside and the upper basket will be pretty damp still. I always have to run it again on the dry setting after the sterilize and dry setting is done running.. which makes it a little inconvenient if I want to run the sterilizer right before bed. Sometimes even after I run it on just the dry setting the items still won't be dry (yes, I know how to load a sterilizer and dryer..)Venting / steam: Compared to our other sterilizer this one doesn't seem to fog up our kitchen. Our other one makes it look like someone took a steamy shower and forgot to turn the fan on..Pros:-Design is more visually appealing than other brands-Baskets are tall, allowing for odd shaped items to fit better-indicator light: At first I didn't notice this, but it is nice to have to see where your cycle is and how long is left. The other sterilizer we have has a less fancy version of this, but the lights on the indicator light for this sterilizer are a nice addition.-Cleaning and descaling the sterilizer is easyCons:- Doesn't seem to dry our items all the way- Bottle "pegs" should be longer to support bottles better. Maybe the pegs are better with the same brand of bottles, but we have a different brand of bottle (Hey, you can't help what kind of bottle your baby likes!)- It would be nice if there were more venting holes on the bottom of the larger basket to allow for placement of more bottles.- I wish it had a "max fill" line, I dont always measure out the water to put in the sterilizer.Overall, the sterilizer is okay. If it dried everything better on the Sterilize and Dry setting I would love it..*I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel *

I have to say when I received the product I was very much looking forward to using it.The item itself looked perfect, a little bigger than I imagined though.I plugged it in, read the instructions and started using it.the Steriliser had 3 simple functions. 1. Sterilise 2. Auto 3. DryI tested every function with every combination of items such as plates, soothers, cutlery and bottles of course, and every function worked perfectly, I would absolutely recommend using distilled water as tap water will immediately show scale after first use.The dry function literally dried everything, not a water drop in sight.the steriliser function did its job, steam was coming out of the air vents and it was getting hotter. I recommend keeping it pushed back from the counter by a window preferably certainly if you have a toddler that can reach the front of the counter. The Auto function just does it all sterilise and dry so i would recommend using that function primarily. The product during use was very quiet in comparison to a kettle or a coffee machine so I would feel comfortable using the machine at ANY time of day/night as not to wake anyone in the household. All in all I would absolutely recommend this product because its fast and efficient, it does what its supposed to do and you can fit quite a lot in there. My only con is how big it is but to be honest if it wasn't so big you wouldn't fit a plate in it.

One of the best purchase for new parents
9 December 2022

As a new mum I was very new to everything about baby care especially on how to clean and sterilize the newborn bottles. Just to save few bucks, I’ve bought the sterilizer without the dryer before the baby arrived. As soon as the baby came I’ve realized that was a mistake. For the amount of bottles we were washing, simple task like drying the bottles by towel took way more time than we expected. Luckily bed bath and beyond accepted our return and we managed to purchase with the dryer. Of all the baby products we use, this hands down has to be the best purchase we made! It’s been more than a year now and it’s still going strong. I was hesitant when I saw some people say it doesn’t dry well but that wasn’t the car for me. Sometimes I fill up more than the norm but it still comes out dry. Only once or twice has some wetness to the bottle. From one parent to another, if u are bottle feeding ur lil one then this would be a great help!

Practically Perfect

I was lucky enough to have been gifted the Philips Avent 3 in 1 Electric Steam Sterilizer before my 4 month old daughter was born. I in fact had asked for it, knowing it would be an excellent way to sterilize all of my baby’s pacifiers, teethers, and bottle parts, and even my pump parts, before their first, and often subsequent, use. The only problem I had with it was that all of the items would be soaking wet when the sterilization process finished, leaving me to hand dry or let them air dry for literal hours. So imagine how thrilled I was when thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel, I received the new Philips Avent Premium Baby Bottle Sterilizer with Dryer and the opportunity to try it! When I heard this new sterilizer had the drying feature built in, of course I wanted to try it out, knowing it would be just the thing to make the at home sterilization process perfect. I was not at all let down. This sterilizer provided the necesssry and vital way of easily getting things done to help a sleep deprived new Mom who was already short on time and spare hands during the brief baby wake windows between our numerous naps! This device is nearly identical in look to its predecessor except for some sleeker upgrades to it’s appearance and design. Because it has the drying feature there is no longer just a single on/off button but a dial with 3 modes. While the Auto mode does the sterilizing and drying together it does take a bit more time than sterilizing alone on either device: a round total of 40 minutes (10 for sterilizing and 30 for drying) which of course means you need to do a little advanced planning when you want to have your items dried as well. This wasn’t a problem for me though since I don’t usually need to use items right out of the package and can afford the time needed to wait. The Premium Sterilizer with Dryer has the same large capacity over 2 compartments which can be used interchangeably in 3 configurations, which is excellent for accommodating big, medium, and small jobs. I was able to put in all 3 of my mini mat bowls, 2 additional easy grab bowls and lids, plus 6 mini spoons, 3 mini cups, and 2 travel spoons, to sterilize and dry all at once! Being able to load up many items at once in one job (like all of her balls, blocks, and buddies) is super helpful for accomplishing necessary sterilization tasks. There were only 2 downsides to this device that I saw. The first were the instructions that were nearly solely in pictures, making it tougher to know exactly what functions were being described. It would have been great to just have some single words thrown in among the pictures for quicker perusal and comprehension. Once you decipher the picture instructions you find the device is super easy to set up and use. The second drawback which wasn’t for us in the moment but might be for many unsuspecting consumers was that the device requires distilled water, not just regular tap or even filtered water. We happened to have a couple of large bottles from our old humidifier still on hand so we were able to fire up the device right away but not everyone will be so lucky or figure out in advance that they’ll need distilled water to properly use the machine as instructed. The good thing though is that a small amount of the distilled water is needed each time so you won’t need to get a lot in order to use the sterilizer many, many times. Needing this additional purchase to use the device is the only reason I wouldn’t rate it a full five stars, however this is still a sterilizer that you’ll definitely want and be able to use many times over.

WE LOVE IT. JUST 2 POINTS WHY!

1 • Tradition meets ConventionSteaming has always been the traditional way of sterilising bottles, as it kills 99.99% of bacteria but one thing I dislike about steam sterilisers is the effort to air dry them before using them. To me, air drying in the open is not very sterile, as there are germs and bacteria lurking around. Philip Avent Steam Steriliser sterilises AND dries them after sterilisation. Bottles, teethers and teats comes out warm after the 40 mins cycle and it is sterile for 24 hours after the end of cycle.2 • Photodegradation(Swipe to Photo 4)Been using UV Steriliser during Lynette’s time and after a while, bottles and teats start turning yellow. Using Philips Steam Steriliser, you won’t have such a problem of photodegradation and teats and bottles won’t turn yellow.

You want a dryer with your sterilizer
14 February 2021

I’m a first time mom of a 3.5 month old son. I previously purchased a sterilizer not long after he was born because wielding a large pot of boiling water felt time consuming and dangerous. The manufacturer of the bottles we primarily use recommends sterilizing as often as possible up to 6 months of age. What I didn’t think about when purchasing is how important having a dryer would be. I also am an exclusive pumper and go through a lot of pump parts each day. It was hard only having a sterilizer and not a dryer considering the volume of bottles and pump parts that I go through and trying to manage washing and prepping parts during my son’s naps or after he goes to bed at night.I was given this sterilizer with dryer to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing ... MoreI’m a first time mom of a 3.5 month old son. It was hard only having a sterilizer and not a dryer considering the volume of bottles and pump parts that I go through and trying to manage washing and prepping parts during my son’s naps or after he goes to bed at night.I was given this sterilizer with dryer to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and its made my life so much easier. I can sterilize in 10 minutes, dry in 30, or do both in 40. I’ve been so happy to be able to pop my pumping parts in after washing and have them sterile and dry before I need to pump again. The bottom has 6 vent holes which allows you to dry 6 full size bottles and the top rack allows as much stuff as you can fit - teething toys, nipples, rings, lids, duckbills, pacifiers, you name it. With one particular brand of bottle nipple I use, it doesn’t aways fully dry but I have the same issue when drying on a rack. Otherwise the drying has been very fast and effective. You can run any of the settings with just the top accessories tray, the bottom bottles section, or both.I loved the light indicator on the knob so you knew about how much time was left. The bottom has a unique water catching area to keep things from burning and built in deodorizing. The bottom portion has a built in water fill line so you know how much water to add, or you can measure out 4.5 ounces. The machine looks sleek on my counter (much nicer than my last sterilizer) and because of how easy it is, I sterilize more often.Things to keep in mind: you can’t dry more than 6 bottles at once because of the air venting design, but its so quick you could dry the rest 30 minutes later. You have to remember to empty the water from the bottle drying tray section after sterilizing or the next time there will be too much water and items in the top may not get dry enough. All in all, I would absolutely recommend buying this. Two thumbs up!
