The Sub8 is a powerful active subwoofer with small dimensions, which extends the reproduction range to below 30 Hz and can be adapted to the acoustic conditions in many ways. It contains a special longthrow 8.5" chassis driven by a powerful magnet and a 38 mm voice coil. ICE modules are used as amplifiers, combining high power and lowest heat generation and easily coping with high loads during long periods. Two motorized potentiometers are located on the front panel, which can be used to adjust the crossover frequency and volume. An included remote control allows adjustment of these controls from the comfort of the listening position. The Sub8 is especially designed for smaller rooms up to 20 m2. It is the perfect complement to the nearfield monitors of the AX and SX series. Control panel/adjustment options All ADAM subwoofers have differentiated options to adapt it to the respective room or satellites. There are control options for volume (60 to +6 dB), phase switching (180°) and variable upper cutoff frequency of the subwoofer (50150 Hz). For the satellite outputs, a filter can be switched on that blocks the signals of the satellites below 85 Hz, for example, in order to reproduce a movie soundtrack in a Dolby compliant manner and to relieve them of the low frequencies. Furthermore, it is possible to either switch the subwoofer on or off manually or to have it switch on automatically as soon as it receives signals (signal on/continuous).
