The fragrance is soothing and can remind me of forests and temples. Lighting this candle at home after a tiring day allows me to take a short break from city life and enter a quiet and relaxing meditation space. If you also like Aesop's Hwyl, the smell of this candle will also be your favorite.

Aesop candles are a bit difficult to get hold of, so I was quite excited when I discovered this was launched on SpaceNK website. I could not decided which scent to go to and chose this one based on the description. It does not disappoint! I absolutely love the green and earthy scent which lasts a long time. I'd love to try other scents in the future.

I have bought and enjoy a large range of luxury candles, including Diptyque, Le Labo, Trudon, Fornasetti, etc. if you lean towards more resiny, warm scented candles like 34, Otto,etc. this one rivals those if not beating them. It is a unisex scent leaning probably more towards the masculine side but not in a mens cologne sort of way. The throw is amazing. I am sitting in my bedroom right now with my window open

Oh, my word. This is so beautiful. There's a strong floral note, that isn't overly sweet at all and feels so fresh. Then there's the spice coming through, similar to the Aesop coriander body wash, which blends beautifully. Something about this one made me feel quite emotional, reminding me of the first morning waking up somewhere green and tropical on holiday combined with the scent of a spice market. I fell in love with it quite instantly. I love that Aesop scented products are mostly very green and herbal without going too sweet and this is no exception. Lovely stuff.
I love this candle -the scent is gorgeous and warm, not overpowering but subtly floral as well as spicy. Delicious -one of my new favourites. It seems to last well and I haven't had any issues with smoking from the wick which I have seen before with other brands. A real treat and would make a great present too.
I received one of these lovely candles as a gift from a friend who knows I love candles. I’ve not had an Aesop one before as I tend to stick to Jo Malone/Jo Loves or Neom most of the time. It looks beautiful with its simple colour and design and smells nice. My only slight complaint is that the fragrance is really strong and I’m not always a fan of woody scents but you get used to it.
Beautiful, calming and earthy smelling candle. The scent and throw is quite gentle, like a softened Hwyl (Aesop fragrance) with less incense. Due to this, I would say it performs best in smaller spaces. I personally look forward to enjoying Ptolemy in my study and bedroom, particularly the latter and as a bedtime scent. The container is ceramic with an elegant profile. Although I would repurchase, I removed one star due to the price which I believe should be a little less. Overall, Ptolemy is a lovely grounding candle that I'm always excited to light.
Of the three new Aesop candles, this one was my least favourite, but only because the other two are so outstanding. It is woody but not as smokey, and I didn't find the scent lingered as long. I would have liked the frankincense to come through a bit stronger, personally, and the shiso got a bit lost. It's definitely for those who like Aesop's style of very herbal scents.
I really like this Aesop candle- it is definitely my favourite of the 3. It has lovely fresh, green, woody scent which is not too over powering. Once the candle has has gone, the container is great to use as a mug. The only reason I have knocked off a star is because of the cost- it is expensive for the size of the candle.
Rich, earthy, smokey, green, so beautiful. Aesop's Hwyl fragrance is my favourite autumn/winter perfume to wear and this is very similar. Immediately reminiscent of hiking in old-growth cedar forests, bonfires, peat moss... really looking forward to burning this when the whether turns grey and cold. I absolutely love this candle.
