Aesop Fabulous Face Cleanser 100ml

Absolutely love this cleanser. Completely cleared both my oily and dry patches. Makes me skin feel amazing will never use anything else again. Combined with the mandarin moisturiser my skin has never been better!

Honestly? I'm on the fence. I love Aesop's moisturizers and have been using them for many years now. So I branched out and decided to try out this cleanser rather than stick with the usual (Grown Alchemist). It's not low lather; it's NO lather, more like a gel -- clear and very slippery. Just my perception, but I don't feel like my face was truly clean after using this, although it was very soft, and I didn't get that tight feeling like I do with other cleansers. I can see this being really good for sensitive skin. A few negative points for not having a pump. The glass bottle can easily slip out of wet hands, so I don't keep the Aesop in my shower area, lest I have to deal with broken glass. I'll use it up, because it's not a bad cleanser -- it just didn't "wow" me.

Let’s be clear: This is NOT an affordable cleanser. This is a luxury item to be sure. But it is exactly that: luxurious. The scent alone is worth the price. It smells green and clean. It does foam but ever so slightly and you really need to be careful due to the glass bottle/no pump situation. A little goes a long way, however, so long as your hands are wet and your face is dry. It leaves my skin feeling very cleansed but never stripped dry. I’ve noticed a dramatic change in my skin: less breakouts and clarity. I will definitely save my pennies and repurchase.

I’ve used a variety of different cleansers for my dry skin, and I always come back to this one. I love that the glass packaging and the product itself, but I’ve deducted a star because of the price. Aesop counters give out samples, so if you’re thinking of buying any of their products, give a few samples a try to see what works for you. This cleanser is beautiful, leaving your skin supple, and the smell is divine. Also, their 200ml cleanser bottles do not come with pumps which may be a surprise to some.

If you are into lather and foam this is not for you. It is not soapy and it does not have bubbles. It is gentle and for sensitive skin. If you apply it and rub it on your face it will not create a lather but it still cleans effectively. It does have a herbal smell but tolerable. You will immediately feel fresh after. When you wash your face with water the skin feels slippery but that's because it moisturizes the skin and it's not drying at all. I gave it a 4 because of the packaging. It has a cap closure. I prefer it to be a pump or anything to regulate the usage. It is prone to having spills and it is prone to wasting of the product. Overall it is pricey but I like this and I didn't have breakouts. NICE TO USE BUT COULD BE MORE EFFECTIVE

Nice gel-like consistency and lathers well. It doesn't dry my skin out at all and has a lovely fragrance. I personally love the aroma but would prefer if it wasn't so strong for a facial product. Only 3 stars because I found myself needing a second cleanser with certain types of makeup.

Nice aroma

I got a small sample of the facial wash. It comes with clean gel. I think The fabulous face cleanser has more bubbles (which I like) than the amazing face cleanser. The smell is more obvious which is a nice and light plant sent. There is no residuals, and make the skin feel fresh. I think I may want to try after I finished with the aveda facial wash.

Nice cleanser

Nice cleanser but have to use another cleanser if I have been wearing makeup as it doesn’t remove all of my eye makeup. Very citrusy smell which I liked and my face does feel clean. Not too drying and use it mainly on a morning to cleanse and refresh my skin. Always take away with me on holidays or weekend breaks. Would buy again for definite.

Not fabulous

I got this as a sample. Typically, foaming cleansers dry my skin out to the point where it is uncomfortably dry. Whilst this gel foaming cleanser didn't strip my skin bare, I was still dry afterwards. I used this as a second cleanse after removing make up with the Eve Lom cleanser. I usually use a second cleanser so this was just my normal routine so that I was keeping the testing fair. The smell is unnecessarily strong and, to me, unpleasant. It reminded me of a high street shop that I cannot name but that often has a "penny sale." I would not purchase this for anyone, unless they actually asked for it. Remarkably average for a product that describes itself as "fabulous."
