I've been through numerous affordable condenser mics that fit my voice well and make mixing nice and easy. I have a mid to high pop/punk/rock voice that can sound a bit brittle in some condensers out there in this price range. This mic sounds great and makes my life a lot easier. The sound is big and warm just the way I like it. It also takes screams VERY WELL! With the flick of a switch, the pad on this thing is fantastic. Highly recommended for genres from Rock to Metal. Thank you Samash Torrance.

I think this microphone works incredible for recording my combo amplifier using it in conjunction with my SHURE SM57. Even the AKG P120 alone is a great sound, but together you get all the right highs, mids, and lows for a sweet smooth guitar recording for Rock N Roll and Steve Vai style solo playing. I bought this B stock and its flawless and even came with the basic mic clamp. I'll get a shock mount later. Would I buy this again or another AKG? Oh yes! It records the sound facing the amp very well while blocking out surrounding noise behind it. Built like a tank, sweet look to it, great sound, what more could you want? Pick one up. You will not be disappointed.

I've used my main mic for several years and it's served me well. However, the AKG P120 caught my ear and I had to purchase one! There's no better quality sound and clarity for the price you'll find anywhere! I do voice over work and this mic surpassed my expectations! I'll still use my older main mic and it'll be good for various purposes and for a certain sound I've had, however, the AKG P120 is outstanding with a better quality sound that I was expecting from a mic at this price! Great build! Great quality sound! I'd highly recommend it to anyone!

This is a very wonderful microphone. From the very first voice recording I ever made, I loved how my voice sounded. It seemed to isolate my voice, like I was speaking in a padded room. I couldn't believe how defined and precise my voice sounded. I believe it keeps my voice very accurate, and very clean. It picks up my voice very good without getting any noise from my computer in the background. It is very sensitive, and very powerful. I use 50% gain on my Scarlett USB interface. This microphone is supposed to be more forgiving on Vocals than the older P220 model which was extremely bright on top. The P120 is slightly bright, but not metallic or shrill. It's a very precise clean bright sound, that really makes your voice clear. I don't notice any residual harmonic distortion, so the circuitry is obviously very good. No hiss, or background buzz whatsoever. I think if this microphone cost $200, people would be buying it like crazy.
Very precise, convincing sound with brass and sax, warm and persuasive male voice with excellent vibrations, female voice reproduced with good / excellent quality.Very sensitive and analytical, it must be properly adjusted at home, it must absolutely be combined with a good mixer or at least a quality audio interface and possibly a gate / expander to bring out the best from the voice.Sturdy and heavy, it is professionally made, and the price for quality is excellent. It is very eclectic and lends itself to many uses, plus the built-in switches allow you to further adapt its use.Faults: A little too sensitive to hissing.
I use this equipment for home studio recording. I've recorded with this brand a few times throughout my 17 years of recording, and I don't have any major issues with it. This particular mic doesn't come with a shock proof mic holder, so that was an issue. I haven't used the set up because of said issue, and my desktop isn't compatible with Pro Tools or Ableton Live Lite. I've had my gear for a week today and have yet to record properly with it.
Overall:This is a pretty good all-rounder condenser mic. I find that it seems to give a fairly pleasant tone to most sources. It sounds very good on weaker voiced vocals. The built-in optional low cut and attenuator is also nice for this price point - I bought this microphone for only 79 dollars! It's not quite the cheapest condenser on the market but I'm very happy with the price spent versus what this mic can produce. If you're on a budget this is probably one of the better mic choices, without sacrificing too much on sound quality.
I use this for my daily voice lessons and for home studio recording. The low frequency cut switch saves time in EQ'ing out the unnecessary bass boom that messes up a vocal track. The 20 Db attenuator switch eliminates daily nuisance noise. This is a pro mic at an entry level cost. There are no doubt better condenser mics out there, but not at this price. It is truly a bargain I recommend without hesitation.
Great mic with great sound for the price. I have 6 of them now. I use them as overheads for drums, guitar amps, and also as choir mics. I only had to perform a couple of EQ curves. Understand it's not just the mic that needs to sound good. The preamp, mixing console, amps, speaker system and room acoustics all play a role in the overall sound. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
