Alogic Universal Twin HD USB-C Docking Station

I purchased this to replace a USB-C dock which drove me mad - full-screen video constantly put it in a low-power state and turned my monitors off! This dock has a USB-A option which can be excluded from power management, and keeps everything running as expected. Nice compact unit on the desk and plenty of USB ports for my home office peripherals making this a really easy home hot-desk for the household. The inability for power pass-through is a drawback, but the only one I have encountered with this dock. Definitely worth a buy.

Most of it is great, but I have one problem. I'm using a Macbook Pro M1. I'm using two screens, which is/was working fine. Using 1 HDMI to HDMI and 1 HDMI to USB-C plugged into the laptop. I was wanting to free up the USB-C port, but I can not get either of the screens working plugging them into the docks HDMI ports.What am I doing wrong? If I get this working I will probably buy a second one for my daughter who has a Macbook M1.

Another faulty product from JBHIFI

The HDMI connection stops working. Solution provided was to power down. So unplugged everything for for 15 minutes. HDMI worked again. Next day HDMI not working again.

Careful: does not charge laptop!

This model does not charge the laptop! I only realised this after a lot of frustration trying different cable combinations, getting conflicting advice in help articles online, and eventually chatting with tech support help desk of ALOGIC itself who confirmed this does not charge my laptop (Dell running Windows 10). This renders the whole docking station useless as I then have to use a separate laptop charging cable, but only have one USB-C port on my laptop, and the docking station only connects to the USB-C (yes, I tried the adapter to connect to different ports, but the only configuration that works is connecting via USB-C, which means I can't charge my laptop at the same time.) Computer hub to connect screens, laptops & devices

This hub enables me to connect my two monitors, laptop and USB devices, like my phone. It’s versatile and can be used with almost any computer. However, it doesn’t with with Microsoft SurfacePro and I think Apple.I 100% recommended this for everyone working from home. I couldn’t do without it.

Docking station swaps easily between computers

Makes swapping from personal to work computer a breeze. As both computers had needed different adapters to connect to the monitors. Dual monitors now work for both computers. Fixed the sound issue with one of the computers, not recognising external speakers. One computer needed USB-C and the other USB. It has an adapter that functions for both.

Everything I need but....

This little port has everything I need to connect a second monitor to my Surface laptop. Easy to connect and install driver. But, the power cable is a multi country and the connection is not 100% solid. If I happen to knock the cable (even slightly) in the power point I lose the connection (and my screen). A little frustrating but otherwise appears to be working well.

This product is extremely useful for me and I use it daily. When I first got it I plugged it in and set it up, there is the software required to use though as even one monitor will not turn on without the software. The software is the DisplayLink display driver and it's for windows and mac. My only issue is that there is only a USB - c port on the front and I would have prefered a usb A port, other than that, good buy.

Reliable and Fast

I have found having a powered dock so much better than any other I have tried. This one has been reliable and there does not feel like there is any delay in data moving through it to my pc.Would love to find a design like this with a couple more USB ports though. By the time I have plugged in microphone, camera, keyboard / mouse, printer and external drives I still need more.

Works well but no pass-through charging via USB-C

I'm primarily using this with a 2018 Macbook Pro but I've used this with a Windows laptop and setup requires downloading software before it will mirror / extend display to external monitors. Something else that I didn't realise is that power is not passed through the USB-C cable when connected, so you still need to charge via power adapter. Other than that it works as expected.
