It has a really nice sized color display and clear picture. And it can do so much stuff -- we're just scratching the surface with it. We have ours in the kitchen, so it's great for asking cooking/measuring questions, viewing recipes, and adding things to your shopping list. It's also great for playing music (nice sound), listening to the news, getting weather forecasts, and playing games (we play Jeopardy regularly). It can also make phone calls and let you watch videos/shows. There are also a host of other features such as finding a lost phone, turning on/off lights that use smart-plug technology, listening to podcasts, and more. Great device and worth the money.

Easy to set up once you have installed the Echo app on your computer or laptop. No manual included. Full use ability limited unless you purchase one on Amazon. Features called skills must be activated on Echo app to use on Echo Show. Screen and sound good but not spectacular. Voice activation requires remembering skills vocabulary. Screen brightness controlled by ambient light in room. Can leave device on but turn off camera and sound with button on top of device next to volume controls. For uTube users open Google then ask Show to open uTube. Through Google you can open most sites same as on your tablet/computer. Skype is on its way and new skills being added all the time. Use ability is dependent on learning curve.

I once loved this. Now after hrs on the phone with CS, Netflix & Hulu no longer work.. not even in the browser! To me, this renders this device useless for anything other than youtube. I originally bought this for my dad who resided a nursing home..especially throughout covid, this kept us in very close contact as well as him being able to watch all kinds of old time TV shows. He was afraid of anything touch screen or TECH for that matter, but this was very easy for him. All he had to do was tell Alexa to play something, or to call me, & even called the facility when nurses stopped answering calls! Best of all it allowed ME to drop in on him any time& see how he well he was or wasn't being treated. For this reason, it was worth its weight in Gold! But he passed ... MoreI once loved this. Pros: Great device. Easy to use. Full rich sound. Great size screen. Splendid commandsCons: More colour options. Needs a stand
I was amazed with how efficient and swift the echo show operates. The quality, value, price are mind blowing. I am thankful that my brother allowed me observe him using his echo show. i ordered one the very next day.. I would recommend this hi-tech device to everyone. I can not express in words how satisfied and happy I am.
Two years ago we visited our nephew and niece in Boston, Massachusetts. They have an Amazon Echo Show with Alexa. My niece asked Alexa for recipes for making garlic bread...... I was absolutely pleased with the results Alexa showed. I wanted to purchase one in Boston but was told it would not work in Canada. They visited us in Ontario last Christmas and bought us the Amazon Echo Show (second generation) with Alexa. We were so disappointed to see that the Canadian Alexa does not support requests for recipes. My niece told us that it was fairly new to Canada and that recipes should be available shortly..... still not available and almost a year has passed. There is no doubt that I could recommend family, relatives and colleagues buy this product if Alexa could show ... MoreTwo years ago we visited our nephew and niece in Boston, Massachusetts. My niece told us that it was fairly new to Canada and that recipes should be available shortly..... still not available and almost a year has passed. There is no doubt that I could recommend family, relatives and colleagues buy this product if Alexa could show recipes and I know many would have bought it once they saw how it worked. I personally would not have bought this product without having the recipe function. I ask Alexa periodically for a recipe hoping the recipe requested would be on the screen..... still not functioning!!! When will this function be available? This was the most important reason I wanted this product..... so very disappointed with this expensive gift!
I purchased an Echo Show 2nd Gen when they first came out & have been thoroughly enjoying it along with the 10-inch screen. I wanted to purchase one as a gift & I can't understand why Amazon now only offer them with a much smaller screen. I was pleasantly surprised to find one. I wish Amazon would reconsider their decision to downsize this product. As a person gets older, their vision diminishes & the larger screen is very helpful for viewing.
Very neat device! I bought two. The only challenge is sharing drop-in ability-- it would drop in on my main Show, not the one we wanted, when I shared with family not in my account. So I registered one in that family member's account. That's an Alexa issue, though-not the device. Devices are great!
If you buy the blink camera you can not use it for two way communication such as talking to the person at the front door. Works with Alexa is apparently a loose sell point. Sad especially since customers have inquired on the blink website and no response from Blink. Blink is an Amazon company. I do like the other features that this unit offers but security integration is lacking. I'll be more careful for my next purchase of a product that works with Alexa...
Pros: Such an easy way to control simple things like switching on lights or listening to music. The screen can be customised to show your photos, news updates, weather forecasts and many other things. Great for finding out answers to almost anything, a bit like google but just by speaking to the device.Cons: The American version has more functionality
